[LLVMdev] A weird, reproducable problem with MCJIT
I switched my Common Lisp compiler to use MCJIT on the weekend and ran into a weird problem compiling one particular function. It crashes with an EXC_BAD_ACCESS error in MCJIT::finalizeObject when calling processFDE. The weird part is that the function does not appear to do anything special and I've whittled it down to the minimum size that still causes the crash. If I remove even one

[LLVMdev] A weird, reproducable problem with MCJIT
Hi Christian, Thanks for sharing this. Yaron Keren has been investigating some problems in the EH frame registration code recently, and I think this may be related. It at least sounds similar to the type of variations in behavior based on code size that Yaron was seeing. -Andy -----Original Message----- From: llvmdev-bounces at cs.uiuc.edu [mailto:llvmdev-bounces at cs.uiuc.edu] On Behalf Of

ess settings
Dear R users, I downloaded an ess-5.2.2 package and hope to use emacs as front to work with R. I modified ~/.emacs and start R by M-x R. But I found when I quited the R session, it still asked me to save the work space or not. I added inferior-R-args with "--save" args. But it seemed that it had no effect. Can you tell me how to pass the arguments other than --no-readline to

[LLVMdev] A weird, reproducable problem with MCJIT
Hi, I had similar problems with EH in ELF in RTDyldMemoryManager::registerEHFrames() calling __register_frame(). I'm not sure these problems are related to this problem since your crash happens in RuntimeDyldMachO::registerEHFrames() in its own processFDE (there are two functions named processFDE(), one in RuntimeDyldMachO.cpp and one in RTDyldMemoryManager.cpp) *before*

Can't get Sweave syntax highlighting with Emacs
I can't get Emacs to automatically do syntax highlighting of Sweave files. I have followed Friedrich's suggestion for code to insert into my .emacs file. The complete section from my .emacs file is given below. When I load a *.Snw file, font is white until I press M-x, then the first code and document chunks get highlighted, but not the rest of the file. Latex and Noweb menus are

[PATCH libguestfs] doc: improve emacs snippets
I've made some local commits that introduce TABs as indentation, and thus provoke a "make syntax-check" failure. This would have prevented it: >From 4740b66adc5985d9a72a7648aa60c5389ffc31af Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Jim Meyering <meyering at redhat.com> Date: Tue, 11 Aug 2009 09:53:16 +0200 Subject: [PATCH libguestfs] doc: improve emacs snippets * HACKING: Make (setq

Sweave and Xemacs on Windows2000?
Hallo! Trying to configure Xemacs to work with .snw files on windows 2000. Tried to do it how it is described in the FAQ for Sweaves. When starting xemacs with and Snw file *ESS* buffer contains hundrets of lines and the few last ones. ESS and Xemacs version 21.5.28
Hi, When I start Xemacs version 21.5.28 (in Unix), using the init.el: (setq bell-volume 0) (setq sound-alist nil) (setq grep-find-use-xargs nil) (require 'ess-site) I get the following error: (1) (initialization/error) An error has occurred while loading $home/.xemacs/init.el: Cannot open load file: "ess-site" Backtrace follows: signal(file-error ("Cannot open

Setting up Xemacs + Sweave
Dear list, I have tried to setup my Xemacs for use with Sweave, which I indend to learn. I have followed the instructions in the Sweave FAQ, that is to say, I put (defun Rnw-mode () (require 'ess-noweb) (noweb-mode) (if (fboundp 'R-mode) (setq noweb-default-code-mode 'R-mode))) (add-to-list 'auto-mode-alist '("\\.Rnw\\'" . Installing RXlisp
Dear R users, I was trying to install the package RXLisp by Duncan Temple Lang on a MDK 9.1 Linux machine running R 1.8.0 installed from a RPM. Unfortunately I had a problem loading the shared library into R. Since I'm a Linux newbie I was not able to solve the problem. Maybe some of you can help me. First of all I downloaded the source archive for Xlisp-Stat and for the RXlisp package.

Possible (ab)use of lexical scoping in R ?
Dear list, I wish to define a set of functions *auxilliary* to another set of "main" ones, and I wonder if there is some "clever" way do do this using lexical scoping. Looking for that in the list's archives did not get me easily understood answers. Perusing MASS (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th editions!) and "Programming S" wasn't of much help either... R easily

rails on emacs - need a working .emacs sample
I would like to hear from some one who has ecb, multiple modes with ruby mode + html mode, rails mode all working together and playing well. I had ecb working with Ruby syntax highlighting. That was a no-brainer since I just had to apt-get them on my Debian Sarge box. It got a bit more comlex after I got most of the .el files in the articles http://www.emacswiki.org/cgi-bin/emacs/RubyOnRails

gnuclient problems witrh R/ESS in linux
Dear list, Not strictly R ... In R on Xemacs with ESS (R-2.0.1, Xemacs-21.4.15-r3, ESS-5.2.6) on gentoo-linux when I use k<-edit(k) or fix(k) to change a small vector k <- c(1,2,3,4,5,6) the opened window (called '6b8b4567') appears not to be connected to the gnuclient and I'm able to edit the file but has no instructions in the minibuffer and C-x # gives '6b8b4567 does

Installing R and an editor on a USB drive
Hi, I have adviced my students to install R and an editor on a USB drive for working in the computer class. With R everything works fine following these instructions: http://personal.bgsu.edu/~mrizzo/Rmisc/usbR.htm. But several editors (e.g., Tinn-R and WinEdt) require administrator rights. I have found out that Emacs (Vincent Goulet's Emacs for Windows Modified

R 3.0, Rtools3.0,l Windows7 64-bit, and permission agony
Having finally found some free time, I was going to use it to update a bunch of R packages from 2.15 to 3.0. I am running Windows 7, 64-bit professional. This is on a brand-new laptop using vanilla settings when installing the operating system. Problem 1: I installed R3.0 to the default location (C:\Program FIles\R\R-3.0.0). The first thing I tried to do was install BioConductor. This

request for addition to R-int
http://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-ints.html#R-coding-standards gives detailed advice on how to set the indentation level for C code to 4, but it took me a bit of poking around in the archives to find the (setq ess-indent-level 4) incantation for getting the R indentation right as well. It would have been helpful to have it in the R-ints manual section as well ... thanks Ben
