expand time period
I'd like to expand the following data to perform a daily time series. It should cover from '2012-07-01' to '2012-10-06' with the values I actually have being the mean from one point measurement to another. Does anyone has a clue to perform this task. structure(list(Date.beg = structure(c(15635, 15617, 15615, 15610, 15609, 15605, 15604, 15601, 15593, 15593, 15586, 15581,

discrete hazard rate analysis
Dear R users, I have more of a statistical/econometric question than straight R one. I have a data set with the discrete hazard rate of small firms survival on 400 counties over a period of 9 years. This data was generated using census information from the VAT registration number of each one of these business. I would like to analyze the effect of regional factors (deprivation index, real

anova for plm objects
Dear All, I'm looking to perform an ANOVA between two nested panel fixed effects models. I tried with anova, as well as with waldtest. anova tells me there is no method available for plm objects, while waldtest tells me my models are not nested. I think they are instead. The difference between the two models is that in the second I let the regression coefficients of a given variable variate

Setting Win ACLs via Comp Managment, connection to Member Server warning
I have given the SeDiskOperatorPrivilege on the domain member but it did not help. The connection warning persists when I click on the "Shared Folders" + shared. It says to check network path, firewall rules. dismissing the window takes me to the domain member and shared folder can be selected and viewed. An attempt to modify and pressing "apply" results in another warning that

[LLVMdev] How to halt a program
Hi, all, I managed to insert the assertion in my bytecode, but the result is not really what I expected :( Let me do a quick recap: I am trying to instrument the bytecode with some assertions, and to do this, I want to insert the abort() function into the bytecode. The problem is that LLVM is creating a new abort() function, instead of using the one that already exists in libc. Let me

Using Icecast over IPv6
Hi, I realise this might be a Debian-specific question. I've got access to two hosts which have IPv6 connectivity, both of which are running Icecast 2.3.2. One is still running Debian Lenny and can be reached via IPv6 just fine, but the other is running Debian Squeeze and cannot. In addition, my local server which does not have IPv6 conectivity to the Internet but which can be reached

Dieter Menne pointed out that the (small) xml attachment didn't make it. Here is an in-line version (see end of message). Let's hope it works this time. I'm struggling with interpreting XML files created by ADODB as data.frames and I'm looking for advice. Note: This xlm contains a result set which comes from a rectangular data array. Chi square value of anova(binomialglmnull, binomglmmod, test="Chisq")
Hi all, I have done a backward stepwise selection on a full binomial GLM where the response variable is gender. At the end of the selection I have found one model with only one explanatory variable (cohort, factor variable with 10 levels). I want to test the significance of the variable "cohort" that, I believe, is the same as the significance of this selected model: >
