add jsslogo.jpg to R sources?
Hi R-core, I was wondering if somebody could please add jsslogo.jpg to the
R sources? (as I reported yesterday in this bug)
https://bugs.r-project.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=17687
R already includes jss.cls which is the document class file for Journal of
Statistical Software. Actually, for the jss.cls file to be useful, it also
requires jsslogo.jpg in order to compile JSS articles without

R and the Journal of Statistical Software
http://www.jstatsoft.org
JSS is now up to Volume 11. This year is the first multi-volume
year, with three volumes so far. JSS now has its own ISSN
number and its own CODEC. A JSS LaTeX format will
become available soon. JSS is aiming to become an
(electronic) ASA journal, independent of JCGS, soon. It's
contents, including back issues, will also soon be in CIS.

Possible bug in 2.11.x texmf makefile.in and some related things...
Hi all,
A list of some possible issues:
1. In R 2.11.x, in:
http://svn.r-project.org/R/branches/R-2-11-branch/share/texmf/
there are two files, jss.cls and jss.bst (for JSS), which appear to be new since 2.10.x. These files are not installed when building/installing R. It would appear that they are not included in:
https://svn.r-project.org/R/branches/R-2-11-branch/share/Makefile.in

vignettes and papers
Hello everyone
Lots of my packages have been the subject of
journal articles either in JSS or Rnews or (in one
case) elsewhere.
I would like to add these articles
to my packages as vignettes.
Reproducing the papers exactly requires a number
of files [such as style files or PDFs] to be included in
the inst/doc directory to pass R CMD check.
A vanilla .Rnw file seems to be a good idea,
but

Along its almost 15 years of existence, R has managed to gain an

Foometrics in R
One of the outcomes of useR! 2006 is that JSS is planning to publish
a series of special volumes. They will be guest edited (I have guest
editors already, although somewhat tentative in some cases). Each volume
will have 5-10 issues (articles) of the usual JSS format.

Suggesting patch to link DOIs against secure resolver
Dear Madams and Sirs,
because the DOI foundation recommends a new, secure resolver [1], I
wanted to suggest the attached patch. It
a) updates a static DOI link in the docu,
b) the code chunks that generate new ones, and
c) a reg-ex that detects DOI links.
Hopefully, my first venture into SVN & patch files was done correctly.
My apologies, if there is anything amiss. In that case, I'll

stack level too deep - an elusive bug?
I was experimenting with template chains and detected the following
issue with webgen-0.5.3:
Generating tree...
An error has occurred: stack level too deep
The weird thing is that after deleting `webgen.cache`, website
compilation is successfully. When `webgen` is run immediately after this
successful compilation (i.e. without changing any files), the error
above shows up. After

Errors with a blackberry
Hi -
We tried to access a dovecot-0.99.10.7 IMAPS server with a Blackberry
7230. The Blackberry was on loan so we don't have much access to it for
testing.
We got the following in our logs:

Jul 27 12:30:27 xserv imap(testuser): IndexID mismatch for binary tree

Packages of snippets?
FWIW, I already include function 'snippets' in the gregmisc package (soon to
be a package bundle). I would be happy to do this in a more public
fashion.
I generally require that the sumitter provide both the R code and a
corresponding .Rd file.

Problem with a submission to jss
Hi the list,
I am about to submit an article describing an R package to the Journal of Statistical Software but I
encounter a strange behavior of LaTeX: the numbering of the figure is correct (1. 2. 3. ...), but
when I make a reference to a figure, the section (or the subsection) number appears instead of the
figure number.
I check if this behavior occurs with the file example provide in the
