How to append the random no.s for different variables in the same data.frame
Dear R helpers, (At the outset I sincerely apologize if I have not put forward my following query properly, though I have tried to do so.) Following is a curtailed part of my R - code where I am trying to generate say 100 random no.s for each of the products under consideration. library(plyr) n = 100 my_code = function(product, output_avg, output_stdev)     { BUR_mc = rnorm(n, output_avg,

Site Navigation With Polymorphic Has Many Through
Hi, seem to keep running into a wall here. I can''t find any resources on site navigation that can deal with any model being in the nav, allow nesting, and can dynamically update. So I thought about it for a while, and decided on a MenuItems class, which contained the position of the child in relation to it''s siblings, where the parent and the child were polymorphic. Then a given

Advice on queue setup needed please.
Hello, I have two sites. Both the sites will require queues for their own reason, own campaigns, etc. Like site1 would handle product1, product2, product3, while site2 can do product4, but can also do customer support for product1 and if anything, can transfer to site1's product1 queue (usually via SIP) Also, a few of these queues will require AgentLogin() type logging in, and some

Failure creating model in spec setup not reported?

Voice server
Hello Now that I received an OpenVox PCI card (www.openvox.com.cn/products_detail.php?genre_id=9&id=28), I'm ready to try and set up a voice server with Asterisk. We need the following features: 1. When customers call in, they should hear a voice menu asking them which software they're calling about 2. Next, they should be able to leave a voice message to explain what their problem

Mock or Stub strategy for validates_uniqueness_of
Hi, I''m a bit stuck with mocking a unit test of a join model with regards to a validates_uniqueness_of clause. I have class Book < AR:B has_many :clippings various validates_presence_of etc end class Clip < AR:B has_many :clippings various validates_presence_of etc end class Clipping < AR:B belongs_to :book belongs_to :clip validates_uniqueness_of :clip_id,

mouse problems [A4 Tech OP-3D]
After some poking into psm.c code I've got some results. First, for the archives, debug.psm.loglevel tunable is much more useful than a verbose boot for debugging PS/2 mouse issues. A good value is 2. Second, I fiddled with various probe methods to force them to "recognize" my mouse (by loosening their checks) and found out that the mouse works perfectly if it is treated as

Slightly OT: Android phone as sip-gw?
Hi, i have some spare (read: Boss get's a new one every few month ;)) Android Phones laying around. Does someone know a way of using them as a mobile gateway for asterisk? I could not find any SIP-Gateway in the Market, and i don't think it's possible to use the GSM Audio directly with something like chan_datacard... Temporary file grief
Hi, I'm running Samba 2.0.6 here as our main file server. Authentication is done against an NT PDC, and Samba is also responsible for printing. I'm getting some odd files created which aren't being deleted. They are all zero byte files, named after a network interface, so I assume they may be temporary files which are not being deleted. Here's a list of a few # find

Suggestions for improvement as regards `as` methods, and a call for consistency in `as.Date` methods
Good evening all, This topic is gone into at a bit more length at my related Stack Overflow question here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/34647674/why-do-as-methods-remove-vector-names-and-is-there-a-way-around-it There are two lingering issues despite the abundant insight received at SO, namely: 1) _Why_ do as methods remove their arguments' names attribute? This is a fact which is

Gantt Chart Using Plotrix
Hi I am trying to generate a complex Gantt chart using the gantt.chart function in the plotrix package. Ideally I would like to use a spreadsheet to populate the activities (tasks) and start and end dates that this function expects and then export the spreadsheet file as a .CSV text file so I can read in this file to generate the gantt chart. Reading through the help file I have not been able to
