Separate x-axis ticks for panels in xyplot()?
Dear r-helpers, In an xyplot I have xyplot(y ~ x | c, groups = g, scales = list( x = list( at = v1, labels = c('A', 'B', 'C', 'D'), rot = 45 ) ) ) g consists of two groups. How do I define a different set of x ticks and labels for the second panel? I'm looking for something like xyplot(y ~ x | c, groups = g, scales = list( x =

Changing appearance of band edges in xYplot()
Dear R-helpers, I would like the bands in an xYplot() to be gray without dark edges. I've tried playing around with col.bands, but that seems not to affect the edges, although changin col.fill does change the fill as I would expect. I would appreciate pointers. _____________________________ Professor Michael Kubovy University of Virginia Department of Psychology USPS: P.O.Box

Dear R-helpers, x <- rep(1:2, 4) y <- c(2, 4, 3, 5, 1, 3, 2, 4) w <- factor(rep(1:2, each = 4)) v <- rep(1:2, each = 2, 2) xyplot(y ~ x | w, groups = v, type = 'b') How do I tell xyplot to use four colors and four plot characters and four line types? And how do I set up an appropriate key in each? _____________________________ Professor Michael Kubovy University of Virginia

Lattice equivalent of par(mfrow = )

How to add the variable name to a qqplot or densityplot in the diagonal of an splom?
splom() doesn't complain here, but writes no names in the diagonal boxes. What am I missing? I believe that I need to add something like grid.text(x, ...) to the diagonal panel, but I don't know how to get it cycle through the column labels. And should varname.col = 'blue', varname.cex = 1 be inside the diag.panel() function? splom(szw[, n], pscales = 0, diag.panel

Font in JavaGD() & pdf()
Dear r-helpers, When I do an xYplot and display the result in a JavaGD() window, the font is sans-serif (presumably Helvetica). When I send the figure to a pdf, I get a serif font (presumably times). Defining an ex-gaussian PDF
How does one define PDFs as yet undefined in R, such as the ex- gaussian, the sum of two RVs, one exponential, one Gaussian? The PDF would then be the convolution of an exponential PDF, dexp(), and a normal, dnorm(). Kindly cc me in your reply to r-help.
