Several questions about MCMClogit
Hello everybody,
I'm new to MCMClogit. I'm trying to use MCMClogit to fit a logistic
regression model but I got some warnings I can't understand.
My input data X is 32(tissue sample)*20(genes) matrix, each element in this
matrix corresponds to the expression value of one particular gene in one of
32 samples. And the Y presents the corresponding classes (0-non cancer,
1-cancer)

Bayesian logistic regression with a beta prior (MCMClogit)
Dear all,
I am trying to use the logistic regression with MCMClogit (package:
MCMCpack/Coda) and I want to put a beta prior on the parameters, but it's
giving me error message (please see output below) no matter what shape 1 or
2 I use. It works perfect with the cauchy or normal priors. Do you know if
there is a catch there somewhere? Thanks
logpriorfun <- function(beta,shape1,shape2){

MCMCpack combining chains
Deal all, as MCMClogit does not allow for the specification of several chains, I have run my model 3 times with different random number seeds and differently dispersed multivariate normal priors.
For example:
res1 = MCMClogit(y~x,b0=0,B0=0.001,data=mydat, burnin=500, mcmc=5500, seed=1234, thin=5)
res2 = MCMClogit(y~x,b0=1,B0=0.01,data=mydat, burnin=500, mcmc=5500, seed=5678, thin=5)
res3 =

Ruby threads?
First off, Ezra, thank you for putting out BackgrounDrb. Looks like a very
useful framework.
I have a newbie question about ruby threads. Are there any general things to
avoid doing when using ruby threads and rails?
Also specifically, will using BackgrounDrb avoid the socket problem
described in this link (extracted from Rails wiki):

large smb.conf file
I have about 5000 distinct shares defined in my smb.conf file. As you can imagine it's quite large.
Everyone once in awhile all the smbd daemons ( in top ) go to a run state and pretty much bring the system to a halt. The system is WAY oversized. 99.999% of the day samba runs fine. We _THINK_ we've narrowed down the times when the smbd processes go crazy to a time when we're

Mongrel/Apache mod_deflate question
Hi Folks,
We''re moving from a single lighttpd-hosted Rails box to a Apache/
mongrel cluster.
In lighttpd, mod_compress had a very nice feature:
if there''s a static file, it would compress it in a user-specified
compress folder. If the file hasn''t changed, it would just serve out
the compress file; if the file has changed, it would recompress it
and serve it out.

MCMClogit: using weights
Hi everyone: I am just wondering how can I use weights with MCMClogit function (in MCMCpack package). For example, in case of glm function as given below, there is weights option in the arguments. Aparently there is no option of using weights in MCMClogit.
glm(formula, family = gaussian, data, weights, subset,
na.action, start = NULL, etastart, mustart,

[LLVMdev] How to Cross Compile libcompiler_rt Static Library?
I need to correct myself. It is possible to cross compile it on Windows,
but not using the provided build systems.

Kernel Estimate for the Intensity Function
To anyone who can help me:
I found that the function "smooth.ppp" in the package "spatstat" provides
the kernel estimate for the intensity function of a "two-dimensional" point
process with marks.
Does anyone know that which package can do this for simply a "one-
dimensional" point process with marks?
I've been searching all over the R site but still

shift and pop equivalent in R
Dear All,
I am wondering is there any shift (or pop or push or unshift) equivalent in R?
For example,
shift(x) # should return x[1], and x becomes x[-1]
Thanks a lot.

I'm running rsync between an NT client and a Solaris 7 Server (Ver 2.4.6).
I'd like to be able to exclude the following directory:
/opt/IBMHTTPDLOG/archivelogs
but retrieve
/opt/IBMHTTPDLOG
My setup is:
rsync -av -p -e rsync@server1.cna.com:/opt/IBMHTTPDLOG/

rsync --daemon --exclude-from=/etc/rsync.exclude

How to extract ICC value from irr package?
Hi, all
There are 62 samples in my data and I tested 3 times for each one, then I
want to use ICC(intraclass correlation) from irr package to test the
consistency among the tests.
*combatexpdata_p[1:62] is the first text results and combatexpdata_p[63:124]
* is the second one and *combatexpdata_p[125:186]* is the third.

Integrating script.aculo.us into existing javascript codebase
Hi,
I''m new to this mailing list, so first off, a big THANK YOU for the
script.aculo.us and prototype.js libraries.
I''m trying to integrate script.aculo.us into an existing pretty large
Javascript codebase (see http://openrecord.org). I''m running into a
problem with prototype.js and the existing codebase''s use of for/in
loops over an Array.

OT: VoIP over bonded link
I have to provision several dozen * users to a seperate building on our
campus in the same subnet. Ordinarily, I'd just run a gigabit cat6 cable to
another switch if it doesn't violate the 100 metre rule, but this building
is several hundred metres away from my backbone. My only option for cabling
to the remote building is copper. My plan is to provision them with a Linux

MCMC logit
Hi,
I have a dataset with the binary outcome Y(0,1) and 4 covariates (X1,X@,X#,X$). I am trying to use MCMClogit to model logistic regression using MCMC. I am getting an error where it doesnt identify the covariates ,although its reading in correctly. The dataset is a sample of actual dataset. Below is my code:

Question about calling C function from R
Hi,all
I wrote a C function and now I want to plug in this in R. I know how to do
this in Unix version R by typing something like "R CMD SHLIB foo.c" to
compile this C code. Then I can load it by using dyn.load. But I don't know
how to do it in a windows version R. Anyone can help me out here? I really
appreciate.
Thanks a lot!
