LD50 and SE in GLMM (lmer)
Hi All! I am desperately needing some help figuring out how to calculate LD50 with a GLMM (probit link) or, more importantly, the standard error of the LD50. I conducted a cold temperature experiment and am trying to assess after how long 50% of the insects had died (I had 3 different instars (non significant fixed effect) and several different blocks (I did 4 replicates at a time)=

weighted kernel density estimate
Dear R-users, I intend to do a spatial analysis on the genetic structuring within a population. For this I had thought to prepare a kernel density estimate map showing the spatial distribution of individuals, while incorporating the genetic distances among individuals. I have a dataset of locations of N unique individuals (XY-coordinates) and an NxN matrix with the genetic distances given as a

generating a data frame with a subset from another data frame
R gurus, I have a data set that looks something like this: Site Species DBH #Vines G PLOC 45.9 4 G ACNE 23.3 1 G ACNE 12.0 0 G FRAM 35.9 5 G AEGL 11.2 2 N PLOC 77.3 12 N JUNI 78.6 7 N ACNE 18.9 1 N ACNE 15.7 3 N ACRU 35.5 4 H ACSA2 24.1 6 H ULAM 35.2 7 There are 730 individual trees (22 species) from four sites in the actual data set. I would like to create a second data frame that

Identify points that lie within polygon
I have a complex 2D polygon with thousands of vertices, and I'd like to be able to identify points from a large set contained within the polygon, and was wondering if there might be an efficient way of doing this? Any advice would be useful! Here is a small example of what I mean: # make polygon v1<-c(0,1,1,2,1,3,6,7) v2<-c(1,3,3,5,6,7,8,9) plot(v1, v2, type = "n" )

F-Tests in generalized linear mixed models (GLMM)
Hi! I would like to perform an F-Test over more than one variable within a generalized mixed model with Gamma-distribution and log-link function. For this purpose, I use the package mgcv. Similar tests may be done using the function "anova", as for example in the case of a normal distributed response. However, if I do so, the error message "error in eval(expr, envir, enclos) :

Some questions to GLMM
Hello all R-user I am relative new to the R-environment and also to GLMM, so please don't be irritated if some questions don't make sense. I am using R 2.0.0 on Windows 2000. I investigated the occurrence of insects (count) in different parts of different plants (plantid) and recorded as well some characteristics of the plant parts (e.g. thickness). It is an unbalanced design with 21

Categorical bubble plot
Hi, I do not have much R experience just the basics, so please excuse any obvious questions. I would like to create bubble plot that have Categorical data on the x and y axis and then the diameter if the bubble the value related to x and y. Attached to the email is a pic of what I would like to do. I do hope someone can help me. -- Regards/Groete/Mit freundlichen Gr??en/recuerdos/meilleures

Clustering over strata using a Cox proportional hazard model
Hi all, I wish to do build discrete choice model to analyse habitat selection of wolverines. This can be done with a 'tricked' stratified Cox proportional hazard model. For each individual animal each selected position, and possible alternative non-used available positions are combined into strata. This means that one stratum contains a set of 1 used position and several positions which

winbind name service required for active directory (ADS) authentication and group-based authorization?
Hello Samba Gurus, Is using the winbind name service required in order to get authentication AND authorization via ADS? I'll explain further. Goal: create samba share for which clients are authenticated via native ADS and access is based on ADS group membership. I've actually done this in the old Windows NT world. Worked okay. It's wasn't too hard, except for the winbind

Microsoft CRM 4.0 integration with asterisk
Hello ! I am wondering if anyone has experiences with the integration of Asterisk 1.4.19 into Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 ? Or alternatively integration with Microsoft Office Communications server (however trying to avoid this, if it isn't really necessary for the integration). I would be glad to receive any links or manuals on this topic, which helped you to integrate it. Kind regards, Jan

substitute, eval, quote and functions
Hi, i am working with large data frames with many dependend variables. I want to write some functions that will allow me to quickly select variables from the frame and plot them in various colors depending on factor columns, possibly selecting rows according to factor conditions. In order to do this in a nice function, i need to understand how to work with a column name in the body of a

validate (package Design): error message "subscript out of bounds"
Dear R users I use Windows XP, R2.5.1 (I have read the posting guide, I have contacted the package maintainer first, it is not homework). In a research project on renal cell carcinoma we want to compute Harrell's c index, with optimism correction, for a multivariate Cox regression and also for some univariate Cox models. For some of these univariate models I have encountered an error

PAN: Need Help for Multiple Imputation Package
Hello all. I am trying to run PAN, multilevel multiple imputation program, in R to impute missing data in a longitudinal dataset. I could successfully run the multiple imputation when I only imputed one variable. However, when I tried to impute a time-varying covariate as well as a response variable, I received an error message, “Error: subscript out of bounds.” Can anyone tell if my commands

Hum/bux on line
Rich Hi, After Qwest pronounced my circuits as within spec. (yes, disconnected from the house) I listened on the lines with my butt set. Clear of all noise and hum. I then got my box of Cat3 and laid a circuit around the outside of the house and into my lab. Still clear of all noise and hum. I then connected the circuit to the Adtran and made a call. Lots of hum and buzzz. As I said,

ALTREP: Bug reports
Hello, I have encountered two bugs when using ALTREP APIs. 1. STDVEC_DATAPTR >From RInternal.h file it has a comment: /* ALTREP support */ > void *(STDVEC_DATAPTR)(SEXP x); However, this comment might not be true, the easiest way to verify it is to define a C++ function: void C_testFunc(SEXP a) > { > STDVEC_DATAPTR(a); > } and call it in R via > a=1:10 > >

ALTREP: Bug reports
Hello Luke and Gabriel, Thank you very much for your quick responses. The explanation of STDVEC is very helpful and I appreciate it! For the wrapper, I have a few new questions. 1. Like Luke said a mutable object is not possible. However, I noticed that there is one extra argument *deep* in the function duplicate. I've googled all the available documentation for ALTREP but I did not find

ALTREP: Bug reports
Hi Jiefei, Thanks for tryingout the ALTREP stuff and letting us know how it is going. That said I don't think either of these are bugs, per se, but rather a misunderstanding of the API.
