Help on direction of axis in R needed
Hi! I'd like to plot things with axes going from the highest to the lowest value, so that e.g. high values on the xaxis are plotted to the left and low values to the right. Could anyone tell me how this is done? I couldn't find anything in the documentation. Thanks a lot! Silli

ogg "chapters"?
i'm thinking about albums like "dark side of the moon" and also live bands (especially live-pa) and DJs where there's a continuous flow from one song to the next... i could use a MKV file with vorbis or mp3 and include a chapter listing [with named chapters], that would allow listening to the whole thing with no skipping between songs. at the same time, a listener can skip

syslinux / pxelinux and color palette.
I'm trying to convert my image so that the colors will remain the same after I do a clear screen. What I would like to make is a palette for gimp which I then could use too convert my images, thus achieving my goal :) I have found a list in which order the colors seems to be arranged. 0 = black 8 = dark grey 1 = dark blue 9 = bright blue 2 = dark green a =

need palette of topographic colors similar to topo.colors()
Dear useRs, I got stuck trying to generate a palette of topographic colors that would satisfy these two requirements: - the pallete must be 'anchored' at 0 (just like on a map), with light blue/lawn green corresponding to data values close to 0 (dark blue to light blue for negative values, green-yellow-brown for positive values) - the brown must get darker for higher positive

[PATCH 0/3] drm/dp_mst: Fix bandwidth checking regressions from DSC patches
AMD's patch series for adding DSC support to the MST helpers unfortunately introduced a few regressions into the kernel that I didn't get around to fixing until just now. I would have reverted the changes earlier, but seeing as that would have reverted all of amd's DSC support + everything that was done on top of that I realllllly wanted to avoid doing that. Anyway, this should fix

Automatically placing a legend in an area with the most white space...
At one point I believe I heard of an R package that would automatically find the most empty space in a plot, and then that answer could then be used to intelligently place a legend. I would like to try to apply that R package to the contrived example shown below, so thank you for any hints or tips that can be provided. x = seq(0, 1000, by = 1) y1_vals<-rnorm(1000, mean = 0, sd = 50)

parallel bash scripts
Check out the redirection at the end of each command. 1>&2 redirects the standard out of your child command to the standard error which then appears in the parent shell. At the end the last & launches your command into a background shell and then moves on to launch the next command. The redirections don't care if the command ever terminates. The result is that both commands

Plot legend
Dear All- I am trying to create a legend where the first 9 terms are represented as pch=16 in one column (which I am able to do); but, I would like the last two terms in that column to be 'lines" (which are black and red - just as it looks like in the plot). I have read through many help pages and searched the help listserv, but haven't figured this one out yet. Does anyone have

How to set Color scale for color2D.matplot()
Hello, everyone. I am trying to show the correlation matrix using color2D.matplot(). And I want to map (0,1) to (dark red to dark green). But by default color2D.matplot() will map(min element of given matrix, max element of given matrix) to (dark red to dark green). Can anyone help me with this issue? Thanks a lot! Switching the order of legend boxes in a lattice bar graph
I suspect there is a simple solution to this problem, but have been unable to find it. Below is some code that I have run to create 3 lattice graphs. I have been asked to change the legend so that the 'No' and dark blue are above "Y" and light blue in the legend to mirror the stacked bars in the graph which feature dark blue above light blue. I have tried changing the data

Gnome dark panels
I think of a layout like in the centos wiki: https://wiki.centos.org/Screenshots?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=screenshot-c7-widescreen.png With panels I mean the lines on top and bottom of a desktop. ldapsam cannot find NT password hash
Most of this is generated by FreeNAS's gui, so I'll have to figure out how to override it. I know where the file is, but I don't know if changes I make to it will actually stick, but that's for a different forum :) Just curious, since I appear to be running a PDC, is there a way to have a standalone samba server, and just get the user/password information from LDAP without doing

dotchart vs. dotplot ... groups
I'm trying to create a dotplot with some grouping. I've been able to create what I want using dotchart (basic graphics), but can't quite get it using dotplot (lattice). I prefer to use lattice (or ggplot2) because I think it's a bit easier to control some other aspects of the plot appearance. Basically, w/ lattice I've not been able to get the y-axis label to include the

subset inside a lattice plot using panel.lines
Hi R people Pulling my hair out here trying to get something very simple to work. Have a data frame of 774 rows and want to plot first and second half on same axes with different colours. A variable is present call 'row' created like this and checked to be OK: row <- seq( len=length( variable1 ) ) ...so I just want to plot the two subsets where row <= 387 and where row

name_url in tests
Hi there, I posted earlier asking about testing named routes in functional tests, but got no response, so I''m making my question less specific. It seems from the docs that it''s possible to to test named routes in cases such as: asserts_redirect_to name_url(:param => "whatever") but I haven''t seen any mention of it being used with any other tests and I keep
