Dear all,
I have prepared a new package to install in R, I tried to check my package
and I got the following message

[LLVMdev] insert nop instruction
Dear All,
To add to this, you can find examples of inserting NOPs for X86 in the
CFI pass originally written at Lehigh University that we ported to
64-bit X86 for SVA:
https://github.com/jtcriswell/SVA/blob/master/llvm/lib/Target/X86/X86CFIOptPass.cpp
Alternatively, you could use an InlineAsm call at the LLVM IR level
(which I think would be easier to implement).

John Criswell

R User Group listings
There are now several R geographic user groups, and a few have mailing
lists on the R mailing list system. Thanks to Martin M, there's also a
pointer to a page I'm maintaining to list/describe the groups. The page
is at

Contact me if you have a listing. I'm prepared to wikify it if there is
sufficient interest.

Title case in DESCRIPTION for package where a word is a function name
I was preparing a fix for a minor glitch in my optimx package and R CMD
check gave an error that the title was not in title case. It is
A Replacement and Extension of the optim() Function
R CMD check suggests the incorrect form
A Replacement and Extension of the Optim() Function
'Writing R Extensions' suggests single quotes, i.e.,
A Replacement and Extension of the 'optim()'

Hi.
I need to write a function pass that insert nop instruction in function.
Examples of these instructions are: %nop = add i1 0, 0 or %nop = alloca i1,
i1 0. This link couldn't help me:
http://llvm.org/docs/ProgrammersManual.html#creating-and-inserting-new-instructions
I need a clear example about inserting new instruction. Anyone can help me?
Thanks.

[LLVMdev] extending LLVM - basic block reordering
Hi.
I want to change order of code basic blocks in memory. I visited "
http://llvm.org/docs/ExtendingLLVM.html" page and it advised me to ask it
before any effort.
What parts of LLVM help me and how? I am a newbie on LLVM.
Thanks.

Default values in control list of function
In building a function for a package, I'd like to set the defaults in a control list,
e.g.,
makeg<-function(parameters, eps = 1.0e-7, control=list(showwork=TRUE, rubbish=1.0e+101)){
etc.
}
This does not provide showwork or rubbish within the function if control() is not fully
specified. Copying others, I've previously set the control defaults within the function
then matched

control list gotcha
This is mainly a reminder to others developing R packages to be careful not to supply
control list items that are not used by the called package. Optimx is a wrapper package
that aims to provide a common syntax to a number of existing optimization packages.
Recently in extending optimx package I inadvertently introduced a new control for optimx
which is NOT in any of the wrapped optimization

Trouble installing package in development version of R
Dear R-devel,
I'm trying to get practice learning more about the internals of R so am
experimenting with the development version. I successfully cloned the SVN
repo and built and installed R. I am using 2014-01-23 r64861.
However, I cannot seem to install the lattice package. I tried within R
using install.packages and got the error
sh: 1: 1: not found
I then downloaded the tar.gz and tried

DBLEPR?
Ravi Varadhan and I have been looking at UCMINF to try to identify why it gives occasional
(but not reproducible) errors, seemingly on Windows only. There is some suspicion that its
use of DBLEPR for finessing the Fortran WRITE() statements may be to blame. While I can
find DBLEPR in Venables and Ripley, it doesn't get much mention after about 2000 in the
archives, though it is in the R FAQ

Rendering a view and passing a variable

I have a view which display html based on the value of a variable. Here''s the code :

In my test, I''m trying to set the value of the variable first, but that just doesn''t seem to work :
