standard error very high in maximum liklihood fitting
Dear all,
I have been trying to fit my data (only right censored) with gumbel distribution using fitdistrplus. I am getting very high standard error. I have been wondering why.
The followings are the outputs:
fit1=fitdistcens(dr0, "gumbel", start=list(a=99, b=0.6), optim.method= "L-BFGS-B", lower = 0.0, upper = Inf)
> summary(fit1)

captive Portal Pfsense + FreeRadius + MySQL DBMS
Dear Friends Greetings,
i have a question for you, i am sure someone can help. The pfsense captive
portal is up and running. Time countdown vouchers are working without
issue, such as 30m, 45m, 1h & so on.
However, I'd like to set up a download quota of 200MB per voucher. but
then you need to login with a username and password, instead of vouchers.

loop over large dataset
Hi All,
I'd like to ask for a few clarifications. I am doing some calculations
over some biggish datasets. One has ~ 23000 rows, and 6 columns, the
other has ~620000 rows and 6 columns.
I am using these datasets to perform a simulation of of haplotype
coalescence over a pedigree (the datestes themselves are pedigree
information). I created a new dataset (same number of rows as the
pedigree

importing data from Excel using RODBC
Hi,
I used RODBC to import data from an Excel spreadsheet "*.xls", but some
columns were returned as zeros. When I looked at these columns in Excel, I
found that thery are results of formula calculations and not entry. My
question is: Is there any parameter or command I need to use in order to
overcome this problem?
Thank you

A data frame of data frames
Hello,
I'm trying to set up the flowwing data structure in R:
A data frame with 7,000 rows and 4 colums. The rownames have some special
meaning (they are names of genes). The 1st column per row is itself a data
frame, and columns 2 to 4 will keep numeric values.
The data frame contained in the 1st column will have 54 rows (with special
names) and 4 colums (1st col is a response, cols 2- 4

For-loop
Hi,
I have the following problem:
I have a data.frame with 36 sample sites (colums) for which I have covariates in 3 categories: Area, Month and River. Each Area consists of 3 rivers, which were sampled over 3 month. Now I want to fuse River 1-3 for one area in one month. To get a data.frame with 12 colums.
I am trying to do a "for loop" (which may be a complicated solution, but I

optim or nlm with matrices
Hi,
I have the following hypothetical optimization problem:
-det(t(x-A%*%x1)%*%(x-A%*%x1))
where A,x,x1 are matrices. A coefficients and x and x1 are variable matrices or vectors.
I tried to apply optim and nlm functions but I kept receive the following massage:
Error in A%*%x1 : non-conformable arguments.
The massage appears even the -det() can be calculated and the dimensions are checked.

Durbin-Watson test in packages "car" and "lmtest"
Hi,
P-values in Durbin-Watson test obtained through the use of functions available in packages "lmtest" and "car" are different. The difference is quite significant. function "dwtest" in "lmtest" is much faster than "burbinwatson" in "car". Actually, you can take a nap while the latter trying to calculated Durbin-Watson test. Help Using Spreadsheets
Hello,
I am a new user of R and I am trying to use the data I am reading from a spreadsheet.
I installed the xlsReadWrite package and I am able to read data from this files, but how can I assign the colums into values?
E.g:
as I read a spreadsheet like this one:
A B
1 2
4 9
I manually assign the values:
A<-c(1,4)
B<-c(2,9)
to plot it on a graph:
plot(A,B)
or make histograms:
hist(A)
But
