Standard Deviation (s) = 12

Shade area under curve
I want to shade the area under the curve of the standard normal density.
Specifically color to the left of -2 and on. How might i go about doing
this?
Thanks

Shading area under density curves
Hello,
I have a question regarding shading regions under curves to display
95% confidence intervals. I generated bootstrap results for the slope
and intercept of a simple linear regression model using the following
code (borrowed from JJ Faraway 2005):
> attach(allposs.nine.d)
> x<-model.matrix(~log(d.dist,10))[,-1]
> bcoef<-matrix(0,1000,2)
> for(i in 1:1000){

Normal Curve
Dear ALL:
How I show the area under the normal curve for example for the following example:
Assume X has N(100,15). How to show the area corresponding to the probability:
P(90<X<110)
With many thanks

curves with shaded areas?
Hi,
I want to make a plot with abline where the area below or above the
curve is shaded. I can't find any documentation on that. Can anybody
help me with that?

shaded area graph and extra plot
R-help,
I'm using the code below to plot a shaded area graph.
At the same time I want to plot a second series on the y-axis (from
par(new=T) on)
but as the two series have different x-axis range (first 1994:2007 and
second 1996:2007)
the corresponding x's do not match.
How can this be sorted out?
Thanks in advance

Polygon shaded area
Hi all,
I have two vectors (columns) called "efinal" and "efinal 2".
I want to plot them on the same plot and "draw" a shaded area beween the
two lines using function polygon
I have tried all but I don ?t understand the polygon area, can you help me
with examples?

Pros and Cons of R
Hi,
I am doing a very informal presentation for my office about R capabilities to deal with and analyze spatial data, display data and maps, and connections with GIS. I've used in my presentation info from the CRAN, the spatial Task view, and the more striking graphics examples from http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/thumbs.php and NCEAS

Help with shading a polygon below a segment of a curve (normal distribution)
Dear R users,
I still feel new to R so please apologize if I am doing something stupid
here. My use of the polygon() function produces a result that I cannot
comprehend: In a plot, I would like to shade the area below a normal
distribution. However, I do not want the entire area to be shaded, but
just the area on the right side of a vertical line that I draw through
the distribution (in

Would like to add this to example for plotmath. Can you help?
Greetings:
I would like comments on this example and after fixing it up, I need
help from someone who has access to insert this in R's help page for
plotmath.
I uploaded a drawing
http://pj.freefaculty.org/R/Normal-2009.pdf
that is created by the following code
http://pj.freefaculty.org/R/Normal1_2009_plotmathExample.R
This will be a good addition to the plotmath help page/example.

Plotting shaded areas
Hi
I would like to plot the variation of some mean values with time,
and have the standard deviation around the mean shaded on the plot.
I could not find a way to have the shaded area on the curve with the
default R commands,
do I need a special package to do that?
Or any idea of a way with the default R commands?
Many thanks

Shaded area
As Peter says, the list is very cautious about what types of files it
allows. A handy way to supply some sample data is the dput() function. In
the case of a large dataset something like dput(head(mydata, 100)) should
supply the data we need. Just do dput(mydata) where *mydata* is your data.
Copy the output and paste it here.

confidence interval as shaded band (lme)
Hi all,
I?m trying to plot confidence intervals for the fitted values I get with my
lme model in R.
Is there any way I can plot this in the form of a shaded band, like the
output of geom_smooth() in ggplot2 package. ggplot2 seems to use only lm,
glm, gam, loess and rlm as smoothing methods.
Any advice on the functions I should use to accomplish this will be very
helpful.
Thank you very much.

I am trying to replicate the example plot referenced below, by using the

correct shape of the filled region, but cannot get the position to overlay

Shade area under curve?
Hi all,
I've got this graphics question which really should be easy. I want to shade
an area between bounds under a curve. A suitable beginning seems to be the
following:
> plot(dnorm,-4,4)
> segments(-4,0,4,0)
> segments(-2,0,-2,dnorm(-2))
> segments(2,0,2,dnorm(2))
It is the area between -2 and 2 which I want to shade (or something
similar). Hints anyone?
