maptree package
Hello,
I was using the functino kgs of maptree and I've realized maptree has been
removed from CRAN repository.
Anybody knows why has it been removed? or where can I find the function kgs
that computes the Kelley-Gardner-Sutcliffe penalty function for a
hierarchical cluster tree
Thank you.

Slow RAID Check/high %iowait during check after updgrade from CentOS 6.5 -> CentOS 7.2
All of our Kafka clusters are fairly write-heavy. The cluster in question is our second-heaviest ? we haven?t yet upgraded the heaviest, due to the issues we?ve been experiencing in this one.
Here is an iostat example from a host within the same cluster, but without the RAID check running:
[root at r2k1 ~] # iostat -xdmc 1 10
Linux 3.10.0-327.13.1.el7.x86_64 (r2k1) 05/27/16 _x86_64_ (32 CPU)

JSON query problems
I am constructing a JSON object that is an array of products. Using a
select box, I want to find the object in the array that has an ID that
matches the value from the selectedIndex of the select box and return
the price.
Here is the JSON script:
var products = [{''ID'': 16378, ''Cost'': 100.00},{''ID'': 16377,''Cost'':

[LLVMdev] nonlocal go to -- how?
The languages I'm faced with compiling in the near future have nonlocal
go to statements and nested procedures.
A procedure gets implemented as a structure containing its entry point
and an environment pointer. It is easy enough to call its entry point
and pass the environment pointer as an extra argument (rather like the
pointer to this or self in object-oriented code). It's no

Slow performance of gluster volume
OK my understanding is that with preallocated disks the performance with
and without shard will be the same.
In any case, please attach the volume profile[1], so we can see what else
is slowing things down.

Slow performance of gluster volume
Hi Krutika,
I already have a preallocated disk on VM.
Now I am checking performance with dd on the hypervisors which have the
gluster volume configured.
I tried also several values of shard-block-size and I keep getting the same
low values on write performance.
Enabling client-io-threads also did not have any affect.
The version of gluster I am using is glusterfs 3.8.12 built on May 11 2017

newbie - read.csv creates a (data.frame, table, array, matrix, ...) and plotting one column
Hi all,
Newbie alert. OK, I'm reading the help file using Ted's suggestion
of ?read.csv or ?read.table, etc., and trying to understand exactly
what R has created for me when I do the read.csv command. The overall
header says read.table creates a 'data.frame', which is fine with me
as it works, but throughout the help file I run into the words table,
matrix, array and others. Are

Slow RAID Check/high %iowait during check after updgrade from CentOS 6.5 -> CentOS 7.2
I did some additional testing - I stopped Kafka on the host, and kicked off a disk check, and it ran at the expected speed overnight. I started kafka this morning, and the raid check's speed immediately dropped down to ~2000K/Sec.
I then enabled the write-back cache on the drives (hdparm -W1 /dev/sd*). The raid check is now running between 100000K/Sec and 200000K/Sec, and has been for several

Question about datatypes/plotting issue
Hi,
I am trying to plot the Case-Shiller index found at: http://www2.standardandpoors.com/spf/pdf/index/CSHomePrice_History_022445.xls
The way I'm importing it into R is as follows:
library(gdata)
W <- read.xls("http://www2.standardandpoors.com/spf/pdf/index/CSHomePrice_History_022445.xls
", header=TRUE)
attach(W)
To give you and idea of what the data looks like:

Ever see a stata import problem like this?
Greetings Everybody:
I generated a 1.2MB dta file based on the general social survey with
Stata8 for linux. The file can be re-opened with Stata, but when I bring
it into R, it says all the values are missing for most of the variables.
This dataset is called "morgen.dta" and I dropped a copy online in case
you are interested

Selenium. Replacement for traditional rails functional test?
Hi list
I''ve got a bit of a philosophical question. After just having discovered
Selenium /Selenium IDE and the rails selenium plugin I''ve realized that
it''s a whole lot easier to do functinoal testing than writing the
traditional rails functional tests.
However it implies that the development database consists of
standardized test data (e.g the test & dev

lvm cache + qemu-kvm stops working after about 20GB of writes
Hello,
I would really appreciate some help/guidance with this problem. First of
all sorry for the long message. I would file a bug, but do not know if
it is my fault, dm-cache, qemu or (probably) a combination of both. And
i can imagine some of you have this setup up and running without
problems (or maybe you think it works, just like i did, but it does not):
