Axis break with gap.plot()
Hi everyone. I'm trying to break the y axis on a plot. For instance, I have 2 series (points and a loess). Since the loess is a "continuous" set of points, it passes in the break section. However, with gap.plot I cant plot the loess because of this (I got the message "some values of y will not be displayed"). Here's my code: library(plotrix); #generate some data x

R-Graphics: Scaling axis
Hi, how can I scale the x- and y-axis of a "plot" to the same scale? My problem: The following command sequence produces the plot in a square. What I want is the x-axis to be 5 times as wide (measured e.g. in pixels) as the y-axis is long (because y ranges from -1 to 1 and x ranges from 0 to 10). x <- seq( from=0, to=10, by=.1) sinx <- sin(x) plot( x, sinx, type="l")

Normalidad para datos multivariados
Hola! Gracias! Carol [[alternative HTML version

Joining the SIG - oVirt project
Hi, I just joined the CentOS-virt call yesterday for the first time and it was a pleasure to meet you there. My name is Sandro Bonazzola[1] and I'm a member of the integration team and the release engineering manager for oVirt project[2]. oVirt is an open source alternative to VMware vSphere, and provides an excellent KVM management interface for multi-node virtualization. Slow boot when no serial pty connected
Hi everyone! It's the first time I send a message to this list, I hope it's not the last :) So my issue is that when booting a disk image generated with virt-builder [1] it takes more than 5 minutes, waiting in the boot screen that says: " Booting from disk... press any key to continue. " The press any key message shows up to 5 times. The issue is that it stays in that screen

overdispersión en glmm
Hola!

squared euclidean distance
Dear R-Help-Team, I would like to cluster my data using the ward-method. In several papers I read (e.g. Bahrenberg) that it is neccesary to use the "squared euclidean distance" with the ward-method. Unfortunatelly I cannot find this term in r as a method for measuring the distance. Does anybody have an idea? Thanks in advance, Carolin [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

looping through numbered variables
Hello, This is a beginner question. I am trying to loop through numbered variables with "apply" to calculate weighted means. My data is "data", the variables are "var1" to "var100", the weight is "weight". The command works using sapply(paste('data$var', 1:100, sep=''), function(x) weighted.mean(eval(parse(text=x)), data$weight))
