replacing value in column of data frame
Dear all, Probably a very basic question but I need some help. I have a data frame (made by read.table from a text file) of microarray data, of which the first column is a factor and the rest of the columns are numeric. The factor column contains chromosome names, so values 1 through 22 plus X, Y and XY. The numeric columns contain positions or intensity measurements. What I need to do is

Installing local packages in R for MacOSX 10.4.2
Dear all, I have been using R for Windows before but recently switched to Mac. Now I am confused about how to install local packages using R 2.1.1. on the Mac. I found the menu Packages and Data, and have used it succesfully to install CRAN and Bioconductor packages (all binaries) by selecting these repositories from the pull-down menu and clicking the Get List button. However there is one

Dear Sir/Madam, I was trying to upload my data in BRB array tools (R version 2.8.0). The following errors occured: Error: package/namespace load failed for 'affy' Error occured while executing the following R command: try(library(affy)). Could you please tell me what this means (and how to solve)? Thank you in advance, Henk-Marijn de Jonge De inhoud van dit bericht is

substituting own test statistics in a built-in function
Hi All I would like to compute the raw p-value from permutation tests and I found mt.sample.rawp() from the package multtest almost similar to what I want to do. But in the function definition: mt.sample.rawp(V,classlabel,test="t",side="abs",fixed.seed.sampling="y",B=10000,na=.mt.naNUM,nonpara="n") I would like to choose my own t-test which is designed

Help with multtest (rawp2adjp)
Hello R experts, I am trying to analyze this dataset and am stuck on this problem for quite some time now. I am using mt.rawp2adjp. the output that came out was a matrix with two colums since I had asked it to calculate the adjusted p values using one method. so it has the two columns as: rawp BH I combined these using cbind with my actual dataframe. checked using head all was fine. thereafter I

samba ldap squid dansgardian
Hi, Just a question. I have a samba PDC with LDAP backend. I want squid / dansguardian use the user auth from samba NTLM bases. i need user and group filtering and i want it transparent. 2 steps, auth, first the NTLM auth on port 80 to be transparent. second, the dansgadian filter filtering groups. this looks bit like it, but this authenicates against ADS.

Hi, I think he's talking about how much a statistical estimator is influenced by extreme datapoints, e.g. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robust_statistics#Breakdown_point Olivier -- Olivier Crouzet Assistant Professor @LLING UMR6310 - Universit? de Nantes / CNRS Guest Scientist @UMCG - University Medical Center Groningen / RijksUniversiteit Groningen > Le 19 avr. 2018 ? 11:00,

Scatterplot3d :: Rotating x tick labels by x degrees
Hi Alex, this should be related to the "las" argument of "par()" but actually it does not seem to be parametered in scatterplot3d. Searching the net for "scatterplot3d las" provides a link to: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/25458652/specifying-the-orientation-of-the-axes-labels-in-scatterplot3d You may try the solution that is provided in this link or consider

[Bridge] [PATCH v2] net: add ETH_P_802_3_MIN
Add a new constant ETH_P_802_3_MIN, the minimum ethernet type for an 802.3 frame. Frames with a lower value in the ethernet type field are Ethernet II. Also update all the users of this value that David Miller and I could find to use the new constant. Also correct a bug in util.c. The comparison with ETH_P_802_3_MIN should be >= not >. As suggested by Jesse Gross. Compile tested only.

wilcoxon test with bonferroni correction
Hi! I need to run a wilcoxon (Mann-whitly, in fact) test with bonferroni correction, as I am running 10 consecutive wilcoxon test not independent, and I know that bonferroni will partially correct for this problem, but I have no idea how to do it with R, I have been looking in the archive but couldn't understand how to do it. The format I am using at the moment is r4_o <- [1]

one sample Wilcoxon test using 'coin'
Hi, R allows me to run a one sample Wilcoxon test like this: wilcox.test(c(1,3.5,2.1,4,1.5,5), mu=2, exact=TRUE) The function 'wilcoxsign_test' from the package 'coin' should (I suppose) be able to calculate exact p values even if there are ties in the ranks. However, I couldn't find information on how to run a one sample test using 'wilcoxsign_test' like in the

Wilcoxon rank sum in unbalanced design
Hi everyone! I need to perform a Wilcoxon rank sum test, but I have some ties and the groups have different size also. When I deal with ties I use the wilcox.exact function, how can I solve the different size problem using this function? thanks net -- View this message in context: http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/Wilcoxon-rank-sum-in-unbalanced-design-tp3447400p3447400.html Sent from the R help

Wilcoxon Test and Mean Ratios
Hello All, I am writing to ask your opinion on how to interpret this case. I have two vectors "a" and "b" that I am trying to compare. The wilcoxon test is giving me a pvalue of 5.139217e-303 of a over b with the alternative "greater". Now if I make a summary on each of them I have the following > summary(a) Min. 1st Qu. Median Mean 3rd Qu.

Wilcoxon test for mixed design (between-within subjects)
Hallo, is there any extension of the pairwise Wilcoxon test to a dependent samples layout with replicates (or, in other terms, a one-way layout with blocking and replicates)? The Wilcoxon method with matched pairs works for the case of dependent samples with one observation per block, while the Mann-Whitney test works for independent samples, thus one single block and replicated observations. Is

How to compute the power of a wilcoxon test?
Hello All, I posted a similar question before, but the direction was driven to whether my case is suitable for a wilcoxon test. After research about the appropriateness, I am pretty sure that a wilcoxon test is the right tool for my case. But how to compute the power of the test is still an unanswered question bothering me. The basic stats of my two paired samples are: mean1 = 0.0032, sd1 =
