RODBC to query an Oracle table
Hello all, I am having trouble running a count function in R using RODBC to query a table I created in Oracle. It may very well be that my SQL coding is incorrect; I just started learning it. But if someone could point me in the right direction or tell me if I am going about this the correct way that would be greatly appreciated! The script I have right now is: >require(RODBC)

CDR in an MySQL-Database
Hi list! I'd like to save all information about calls (CDR) in a MySQL-Database. I created the DB and a user for Asterisk on a separate server, then I configured my cdr_mysql.conf so: [global] hostname=192.168.10.3 dbname=asterisk table=cdr password=MYSECRET user=asterisk port=3306 and my cdr.conf so: [general] enable=yes unanswered = yes safeshutdown=yes [mysql] usegmtime=no

CDR_MYSQL 1.4 Database Structure
So I'm noticing from the docs/ on Asterisk Addons 1.4.10 that the database structure for cdr_mysql is: CREATE TABLE cdr ( calldate datetime NOT NULL default '0000-00-00 00:00:00', clid varchar(80) NOT NULL default '', src varchar(80) NOT NULL default '', dst varchar(80) NOT NULL default '', dcontext varchar(80) NOT NULL default '', channel

sqlUpdate RODBC
Dear all, I using R version 2.9.0 on Windows XP and want to insert data from a data frame in R into a oracle database via sqlUpdate with the package RODBC. My example is the following: TEST0<-data.frame(NR=c(1,2,600),NAME=c("JK","TR","AR"), DATUM=c("2009-01-01","2010-01-02","2010-06-09")) If I create the table in the database with

*varTypes an optional named character vector giving the DBMSs datatypes to be used for* *some (or all) of the columns if a table is to be

Strange RODBC problem
I am using RODBC to collect data from an ODBC connection to an MS Access Database. Everything seems to be working well except datetimes between March 12, 2006 02:00 and 02:59 get moved one hour forward. This does not seem to be happening with Excel connecting to the same connection. March 12 seems a bit early for Daylight savings time. What am I doing wrong? R 2.5.0 Windows XP with the

RODBC & POSIX & Daylight Saving blues
Dear All, The recent improvement in RODBC to recognize datetimes in tables has exposed my ongoing confusion. All my data are obtained from a satellite system (Argos) which tags events in the GMT time zone. Daylight saving is ignored. To my way of thinking this means that 1. twelve-o-clock means halfway through the day regardless of season, and 2. the difftime of any two dates where

RODBC vs gdata
Hi one col in my Excel file contains many numbers. But on line 3000 and some other lines are strings like "FG 1". "RODBS" seems to omit this lines. "gdata" works, but is much slower. Is this a bug of RODBC or do I apply it wrong? Example with the same "file.xlsx" library(RODBC); excel <- odbcConnectExcel2007("file.xlsx") tab <-

RODBC, freetds, and MS SQL Server
I have a question for RODBC users out there. I have used the package with good results for some time. However, I have just switched from an OpenLink proprietary driver for MS SQL to the FreeTDS driver (I think it is MS SQL Server 2000 I'm connecting to if it matters). I was/am running them from unixODBC on a Linux Client. I think I have it set up fine since I can use "isql"

RODBC query on one line
Dear R-helpers, When I use sqlQuery in the package RODBC, I cannot break the line, but have to write the entire SQL Query on the same line. Is this expected behaviour? It is definitely workable, but makes the queries a slightly difficult to read and edit. I'm using R 1.9.1 and RODBC 1.0-4 on Windows Server 2003 and querying a Sybase database. Best wishes, Mikkel
