(simple) xml into data.frame and reverse
Hello, I am trying to convert a simple data.frame (it will always be a few equally long variables) into the XML format (which I don't understand too well but need as input for another program) and reverse the operation (from XML back into data.frame). I found some code which does the first and it works good enough for me (see below). Is there an easy way to reverse the operation? My XML files

Write XML according to ggobi DTD
Hi, Has anyone out there written a function to take a data.frame as input and generate XML that conforms to the DTD for ggobi ("ggobi.dtd")? In other words, like a simple version of the writeSDML function in the StatDataML package, but using ggobi.dtd instead of StatDataML.dtd. It looks easy to write such a function to handle data.frames with only numeric data, but a bit of work with

Installation of XML library can't find libxml2.dll
Sorry to ask a (probably) dumb question, but I am trying to install XML package on Windows XP, R 2.0.1, and I get the error: "This application has failed to start because libxml2.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem" > library(XML) Error in dyn.load(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now)) : unable to load shared library

configure fail for XML package on freebsd
Hi, I am having problems installing the XML package with R-devel on freebsd. If I simply do install.packages("XML"), it says that the parser.h file is not found. After reading the INSTALL file, I have set setenv XML_CONFIG /usr/local/bin/xml2-config setenv LIBXML_LIBDIR -L/usr/local/lib setenv LIBXML_INCDIR -I/usr/local/include/libxml2/libxml and install.packages("XML")

XML package
There are some problems with XML under OS X, nothing serious, but manual intervention is required. 1. For some reason the package has problems matching up the proper include and lib files for xml or xml2. If I install a fresh libxml2 and point the environmental variables to it, it still complains about mismatched header and lib files, which suggests, perhaps, that the test in configure uses

Significant memory leak when using XML on Windows
Janko and I have been in touch. This is, I believe, a Windows specific issue and a compilation issue. I could be wrong, but that is my impression from other reports. When I have time (?! :-)), I will deal with it. Hopefully this will be very soon. Thanks Janko. D. Python XML parsing of domain descriptions?
Does anyone know of a way to parse the libvirt XML into usable python data structures? Ideally, it would be something like foo['domain']['devices']['bridge'][0]['target'] or something of the sort. What I'm looking to accomplish is to figure out which tap interface goes with a specific domain. I'm not keen on parsing XML to get that mapping, is there a

[PATCH libguestfs 0/4] Add a libvirt backend to libguestfs.
This preliminary patch series adds a libvirt backend to libguestfs. It's for review only because although it launches the guest OK, there are some missing features that need to be implemented. The meat of the patch is in part 4/4. To save you the trouble of interpreting libxml2 fragments, an example of the generated XML and the corresponding qemu command line are attached below. Note the

RSXML - Parsing XML Documents on Internet
R Users - I asked about this a few months ago and never did quite figure it out, so with more information, allow me to try again. If I use the following code: library(xml) xmlTreeParse("http://home.comcast.net/~larsenmtl/xmlTestDoc.xml", isURL = TRUE) I receive this error: Error in xmlTreeParse("http://home.comcast.net/~larsenmtl/xmlTestDoc.xml"", : error in
