OCFS for RHAS4 download
Greetings,
I read from archive that OCFS is for kernel 2.6. which means RHAS4.0 is
supported. However, I can't find the download for this version. Is the
support official and where can I download it.
Thanks / regards,

Server crashed with Common/ocfsgencreate.c, Common/ocfsgenvote.c
Hi Experts,
We have a 4nodes RAC running and recently one is down due to hardware
(fibre optics card) failure. Since running on 3-nodes RAC, the surviving
server just keep crashing. We cannot figure out why is this happening
but checking /var/log/messages we have these error (notice the msg
before crashing at 8:32):

Ocfs-users Digest, Vol 37, Issue 2
Ivan,
I found the same thing after doing an upgrade a couple of months ago and
mailed this list. Never got a response.
We had to fdisk the shared disks and remount them and restore db from
backup.

DID YOU KNOW? The US Social Security Board reports that 85 out of 100

Trying to get IE onto my MacBook
MacBook OS X 10.4.11 - Sorry, I'm pretty much one of the peasants when it comes to some of this; need to use Internet Explorer and Excel (required for work) on my MacBook; have been trying to learn how to do this -- short of keeping Mr. Gates wealthy; my understanding (correct?incorrect?) is that one way to manage this is to load Wine onto the Mac, and then I can load in the two MS programs.

Riding the Rails to acquisition
Guys,
I think many of us on this list would consider ourselves entrepreneurs.
I''m willing to bet at least 40% of you are working on ideas for
startups...hoping that you just might have the next Flickr, Oddpost,
del.icio.us, etc.
Me too, for what it''s worth. Rails is good for this, in that it enables
you to move quickly (after the learning curve) and it''s

Mandrake may operate that way, but RedHat does _not_ -- at least
that has been my experience.

Some journaling filesystems can be _worse_ than non-journaled. If
the recovery mechanism of the JFS is to "aggressively" go to the
journal, journal mis-reads can _toast_ a filesystem. I'll take a

[Off-topic] Battery Backed NVRAM for journals ...
I've seen this come up on occassion, but every NAS OEM that uses
NVRAM I've ever talked to over the last 18 months won't tell me
anything about their equipment nor their suppliers. Recently, Micro

SSH scans vs connection ratelimiting
Gang,
For months now, we're all seeing repeated bruteforce attempts on SSH.
I've configured my pf install to ratelimit TCP connections to port 22
and to automatically add IP-addresses that connect too fast to a table
that's filtered:
table <lamers> { }
block quick from <lamers> to any
pass in quick on $ext_if inet proto tcp from any to ($ext_if) port 22

[ NOTE: I'm putting this off-topic thread back on the Ext3 list,
temporarily, as I hope _someone_else_ can help this gentleman better
than I have. With each response I get 10 more questions, 5 of them
have already been answered and another 5 that utterly confuses me on
what he is trying to accomplish, because he's changing his
priorities (to often conflicting ones). ]

It's all speculation at this point. But there are _several_ factors.
But I'm sure the first time Intel saw AMD's x86-64/PAE52 presentation,
the same thing popped into my mind that popped

[PATCH V3] ocfs2: xattr: fix inlined xattr reflink
Inlined xattr shared free space of inode block with inlined data
or data extent record, so the size of the later two should be
adjusted when inlined xattr is enabled. See ocfs2_xattr_ibody_init().
But this isn't done well when reflink. For inode with inlined data,
its max inlined data size is adjusted in ocfs2_duplicate_inline_data(),
no problem. But for inode with data extent record, its

[PATCH 1/3] ext3/ext4: Factor out disk addressability check
As part of adding support for OCFS2 to mount huge volumes, we need to
check that the sector_t and page cache of the system are capable of
addressing the entire volume.
An identical check already appears in ext3 and ext4. This patch moves
the addressability check into its own function in fs/libfs.c and
modifies ext3 and ext4 to invoke it.
