Error using the Rdonlp2‏ Package
Dear experts, I'm attempting to solve a constrained optimization problem using the Rdonlp2 package. I created a Lagrange function (L=f(x)-lambda(g(x)-c)), where x is a vector of 16 parameters. This is what I'm using as objective function in the code below. In addition, I set bounds on these parameters (par.u and par.l). When I run the code, I get the error message shown below. Any idea

Problems with calloc function.
Hi all, I have a C code in Linux, it has 7 pointers and compile e run OK, but when I run in R happens problems with calloc function, it returns NULL. ############################################### > int *temp1,*temp2,*temp3,*temp4; temp1 = (int *)calloc(col,sizeof(int)); if(temp1 == NULL){ printf("\n\n No Memory1!"); exit(1); } temp2 = (int *)calloc(col,sizeof(int));

Sweave function
Dear list, I have a question about the interaction between R code and Latex language trough the Sweave function in the package "utils". What I'm trying to do is to write a report. Contrary to the examples shown in the Sweave Manual in which table already constructed by R are "exported" on Latex files, what I would like to do is to build a table in which I combine text and

[PATCH] Fix arguments passed to SHADOW_PRINTK
Hi. When I compiled xen-3.3-testing with DEBUG_TRACE_DUMP in xen/include/xen/lib.h turned on, I got some errors at SHADOW_PRINTK. The following patch will fix the arguments passed to SHADOW_PRINTK in xen/arch/x86/mm/shadow/common.c and xen/arch/x86/mm/shadow/multi.c. Although I haven''t tested, it is the same for xen-unstable.hg Thanks, Yoshi Signed-off-by: Yoshi Tamura

[RFC][PATCH] Kemari v1.0 released
Hi, I would like to announce the first release of Kemari, an open-source virtual machine synchronization mechanism for fault tolerance. It offers a feasible approach to fault tolerance that does not require the use of specific hardware or modification of applications/OS. Kemari aims to keep VMs transparently running in times of hardware failures. It transfers the state of the primary VM to the

How to build a "Amalgamation Schedule"? help!
Dear all, I need to process large amounts of data (two or three variables for 6,000 cases) cluster analysis. In the end I need to fill the source data to the obtained clusters. I need to trace the sequence of data fusion. In this case, I can fill in a cluster (with any level of linkage distance) by data. This procedure is implemented in the package Statistica, but this package can not work with

Advice on Computer Specifications
Hello I'm running into a variety of limitations with my computer complaining that it doesn't have sufficient memory. It is a Dell Latitude D630 Duo Core CPU T7700 @ 2.40 GHz, with 3.50 GB RAM. I'm working with relatively large dataframes > dim(AllYears) returns 4071840 records with 13variables sometimes this complains that it can not allocate vectors of 16.0 Mb and will

[R-SIG-Mac] rnorm.halton
Hi all, I need to transform classic 32bit Fortran code to 64bit Fortran code, see the discussion [R-SIG-Mac] rnorm.halton. But I'm clearly a beginner in Fortran... Does someone already do this for his package? From here, http://techpubs.sgi.com/library/tpl/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?coll=linux&db=bks&fname=/SGI_Developer/Porting_Guide/ch03.html , I identify the following changes

multinomial logistic regression with equality constraints?
I'm interested in doing multinomial logistic regression with equality constraints on some of the parameter values. For example, with categorical outcomes Y_1 (baseline), Y_2, and Y_3, and covariates X_1 and X_2, I might want to impose the equality constraint that \beta_{2,1} = \beta_{3,2} that is, that the effect of X_1 on the logit of Y_2 is the same as the effect of X_2 on the

Partial Derivatives in R
Quick question: Which function do you use to calculate partial derivatives from a model equation? I've looked at deriv(), but think it gives derivatives, not partial derivatives. Of course my equation isn't this simple, but as an example, I'm looking for something that let's you control whether it's a partial or not, such as: somefunction(y~a+bx, with respect to x,

Partial Derivatives in logit
Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to have R estimate partial derivatives for logit models. As an example, I'm providing a (fake) scored observation in a MNL with 3 categories of Y and 2 predictors (x01 and x02), and show the right way to calculate it, but am looking for how to use an R function, such as deriv() or anything else. Here is my attempt: ### Variables for an observation x01

[PATCH] Detect correct systemdsystemshutdowndir
nut hardcodes systemdsystemshutdowndir to ${libdir}/systemd/system-shutdown. This is not valid: - Executable helpers are installed to ${libexecdir}, which is different from ${libdir} on bi-arch systems. - Even if nut will use ${libexecdir}, it could be different from systemd libexecdir. That is why it is better to check systemd.pc for the correct path. That path is stored as systemdutildir.

bar plot with non-zero starting level
Hi, I want to plot grouped bars to compare 95% confidence interval estimates from two models. Each bar represents a 95% confidence interval estimate of a coefficient from one of the two models. Each group represents confidence interval estimates of the same coefficient from the two models. I think such a bar plot will nicely present whether 95% confidence interval estimates of the same

multinomial conditional logit models
A multinomial logit model can be specified as a conditional logit model after restructuring the data. Doing so gives flexibility in imposing restrictions on the dependent variable. One application is to specify a loglinear model for square tables, e.g. quasi-symmetry or quasi-independence, as a multinomial logit model with covariates. Further details on this technique and examples with several

optFederov/AlgDesign - help avail?
Hello, we are needing to generate optimal (Fractional) designs for discrete choice applications, where we will be using logistic regression or multinomial logit as the modeling technique. It looks like optFederov, in the AlgDesign package may work, but not sure if this algorithm works when the variable of interest is binary or nominal? Anyone who are experts in this area, anyone interested
