Is this sapply behaviour normal?
Hi, I'm trying to use sapply to compute the min of several variables, each of them stored in data.frames, grouped as a list: Is it normal that mean() and min() produce different objects dimensions? > str(dats) List of 5 $ log20:'data.frame': 83 obs. of 5 variables: ..$ DATE : int [1:83] 2001081500 2001081512 2001081600 2001081612 2001081700 2001081712

Question of syslinux chainloading
Lu Wei, For the DOS portion make sure you have a working FAT-32 DOS Bootable Drive first. Back up it's boot sector into a file. This file will probably be 512 Bytes and if you were to open it with a Hex editor it would start with ".X.MSWIN4.1" and end with "SYS~..WINBOOT SYS..U" This would of course be looking at the ASCII view. Assuming you put the file in the DOS

Question of syslinux chainloading
Greetings, I encounter a problem that should be basic, but I can't get a clue. I have 8G USB disk formatted as FAT32. I run (syslinux -i -s -r -m H:) to make it bootable, and write syslinux.cfg according to the documents, but it will not boot some items. Syslinux is 6.03, bios files used. The whole syslinux.cfg file:

chain loading Syslinux 3.86 from 6.04
Thanks. That gets me further. Syslinux 4.07 loads from Syslinux 6.04 now. For some reason though it reread D:\syslinux.cfg instead of D:\ESXi\syslinux.cfg . I don't see the directive that tells Syslinux(4) to look in the sub directory for syslinux.cfg instead of the root. The only thing (right now) I can see that is different, is my D:\syslinux.cfg is one file while yours loads other files

Lu Wei, What Hard drive are you also trying to boot? The first and only fixed drive inside a computer? If so would the line to boot a local HD not be: LABEL LOCAL MENU LABEL Local operating system in harddrive (if available) kernel chain.c32 append hd0 -Adan On Thu, Apr 4, 2019 at 8:56 AM Adan Calderon <adancalderon at gmail.com> wrote: > > Lu Wei, > > For the DOS portion

How to debug the C programs associated with R-packages?
hello, I was having some problems in debugging C codes assocaited with R-packages. I don't have much experience with debugging tools used in C language. Is there any methods similar to R-debugging tools such as browser ,debug etc which can be used to debug such C files. I was using the foreign package and found a bug in reading dta files containing empty strings "" in the data. I

insert and count missing data
Hi R-users, I have missing data for the month. My question is how do I insert the missing month and fill up the cell with 'na' for the rain amount?  Then I would like to count the percentage of missing data. No     Year     month rain 1398 1985    10 104.2 1399 1985    11 138.0 1400 1985    12 120.4 1401 1986     1  12.6 1402 1986     2  19.4 1403 1986     3   1.0 1404 1986     4  58.8

Using stepAIC to produce a p-value for when a particular variable was taken out of the model
Dear all, I have decided after much deliberation to use backward elimination and forward selection to produce a multivariate model. Having read about the problems with choosing selection values I have chosen to base my decisions of inclusion and exclusion on the AIC and am consequently using the stepAIC function. This post however does not relate to whether or not this is the correct decision!

Is possible, on biological grounds, suggest to fitdistr (MASS library) that the estimated parameters must be between two values?
Sorry if it is a silly question, I haven't found documentation on this and I don't know if it is possible. library(MASS) ## for fitdistr library(msm) ## for dtnorm #prepare truncated normal distribution dtnorm0 <- function(x, mean, sd , log = FALSE) { dtnorm(x, mean, sd, 105, 135, log) } set.seed(1) #Generate normal distribution with the TRUE population mean (day 106 of the
