Creating regularly spaced time series from irregular one
Hello, I have a series of intraday (high-frequency) price data in the form of POSIX timestamp followed by the value. I sucesfuly loaded that into "its" package object. I would like to create from it a regularly spaced time series of prices (for example 1min, 5min, etc apart) so i could calcualte returns. There is an interpolation function locf() that for timestamp with value NA uses last

Help with selecting data from irregular time series {its} objects
If I understood correctly in irregular time series (its) objects, values are indexed by time stamps in POSIX format. But if I try to select the value of my time series corresponding to specific time stamp in the following way: x - its object i <- as.POSIXct("2006-05-19 15:30:00") x[i,] or x[i] or x[i,1] I get the error message: subscript out of bounds. If I use integers: x[1,1] it

T100p half-height PCI bracket
Hello, Does anybody know of a place to get a half-height PCI slot bracket for the Digium T100P card? I have an application to fit them in 1U cases for small, deployable PBX's. The T100P itself is short enough to fit in a half-height slot but I need an appropriate mounting bracket to screw it into the case. Thanks, Mark Hagler

AEL and };
Hi! All the AEL examples have a semicolon after the closing curly bracket, e.g: context test { 1 => Hangup(); }; but without ; it works fine too, e.g: context test { 1 => Hangup(); } So - what is the reason for the ; after the closing curly bracket? thanks klaus

R string help
Dear R guru: If I got a variable aaa<- "up.6.11(16)" how can I extract 16 out of the bracket? I could use substr, e.g. substr(aaa, start=1, stop=2) [1] "up" But it needs start and stop, what if my start or stop is not fixed, I just want the number inside the bracket, how can I achieve this? Many thanks yan

virsh console and other language keymaps
Hi, I've got a small vm server running kvm + libvirt, and I made a simple shell script that allows users to ssh in and control their vms (power off, etc). However, one of my users uses the french canadian keyboard layout on her home computer, and upon being told "escape character is ^]" expected to need to press ctrl+right-alt_] (] being in the same location it is on a US keyboard).

[PATCH 1/1] rework printing for visual host key upper border
Key types are getting longer and the current implementation of visual host key breaks with ED25519, resulting in (note the missing bracket): +--[ED25519 256--+ This reworks the calculation of visual host key upper border. Please be aware that this slightly modifies the output for other key types as well: +--[ DSA 1024]----+ +---[DSA 1024]----+ +--[ RSA 2048]----+ +---[RSA 2048]----+

[LLVMdev] combined arm patch
Attached is the current ARM patch. It allows the LLVM branch to compile on linux/arm and the resulting libgcc is compatible with a glibc compiled a vanilla gcc,i.e, a statically compiled hello world works :-) The patch was constructed by merging patches from gcc 4.1 with minimal editing for making merging easier. It was requested that I bracket the changes, I will try to remove all unnecessary

Inexplicably different results using subset vs bracket notation on logical variable
Hi, Would anyone have any idea as to why I would obtain completely different results when subsetting using the subset function vs bracket notation? I have a data frame with 65 variables and 4382 rows. When I use execute the following subset command I get the correct results (125 rows) > subset(df, Renewal==TRUE, 1:2)   However, I tried to obtain the same results with bracket notation as

R commandline editor question
I am using R 2.1 on Apple OS X. When I get the ">" prompt, I find it works well with emacs commandline editing. Keys like M-f C-k etc. work fine. The one thing that I really yearn for, which is missing, is bracket matching When I am doing something which ends in )))) it is really useful to have emacs or vi-style bracket matching, so as to be able to visually keep track of whether I

Parantheses highlighting
Dear list, is it just me or is everybody experiencing this? Since the upgrade to R 2.13.0 on my Mac (OS X 10.6.7, R GUI 1.40 (5751)) the highlighting of matching parantheses doesn't work the way it used to. It doesn't highlight the matching parantheses while typing, but it still does while scrolling over it with the cursor with the arrow keys. This is quite inconvenient since I have to go

Checking your package's help files
It seems that many package authors do not proofread the help installed with their packages. The Rd converter is not a parser, and it will silently produce incorrect results on incorrect input (and some correct input). Here are a few hints about some common errors: 1) When you run R CMD check you get a PDF manual at <pkg>.Rcheck/<pkg>-manual.pdf. Read through it looking for

Reducing the size of a large script top speed onset of execution
Colleagues, (R 2.10 on all platforms) I have a lengthy script (18000 lines) that runs within a graphical interface. The script consists of 100's of function followed by a single command that calls these functions (execution depends on a number of environment variables passed to the script). As a result, nothing is executed until the final line of code is read. It takes 15-20

[LLVMdev] combined arm patch
Rafael, Please bracket portions of your changes that involve modification of C/C++ source code. For cases of modifying configuration scripts and make files, use your best judgement. Obviously having the brackets emitted in generated code is problematic (line numbers et cetera), so don't bother in those cases. Beside marking the changes we've made, the purpose of APPLE LOCAL
