Survival Plot in R 2.10.0
I would like to produce a complimentary log-log survival plot with only the points appearing on the graph. I am using the code below, taken from the plot.survfit page of help for the the survival package (version 2.35-7). I am running in R 2.10.0 on Windows XP, and the list of packages following the error is loaded. Is there some specific 'type= ' syntax, or an additional parameter that

Problem cross-compiling on Ubuntu
I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) and R 2.7.1. I've built a package from source (a modified version of gbm) and it contains some C++ code. I now want to cross-compile it to get a Windows version. I installed R using sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install r-base sudo apt-get install r-base-dev So far as I can tell, I've also followed all the instructions in the guide

"order" issue
Hi everybody, this is a real dummy thing. I sorted a matrix based on a given column, and what I get is right, until it comes to columns of negative and positive values; than, "order" orders everything from max to min in the negative values, and then AGAIN from max to min in the positive values!!! Why isn't everything order from max to min, and that's it? Thank you!!! Attached

help on drawing right colors within a grouped xyplot (Lattice)
Hi, I've lost my mind on it... I have to scatterplot two vectors, grouped by a third variable, with two different dimensions according to whether each cell line in the plot is sensitive or resistant to a given drug, and with a different color for each of 9 tissues of origin. Here's what I've done:

discrepancies between stata and r for a cox regression
Hello I would like to develop the use of R. Trying R and more particulary the cox model, I am surprised by discrepancies between results with stata and R for a cox model With the same data base, I get a hazard ratio (4.82) that is not the same obtained with stata (4.52) You will find attached the file leukemia.dta I used (Stata) Here are the codes for R library(foreign)

write.csv
hallo, i have a problem by writing a csv file the first colum is filled with index numbers from 1 to n. i have to unique two csv files once a week while one file is always the same. can anybody tell me, how to write the dataset into a csv file without the first row of the indexnumbers. x[,-1] does not wok as it eliminates the first "interesting" colum. col.names is not accepted by r

how to make stacked plot?
Dear friends: I'm interested to make a stacked plot of cumulative incidence. that's, the cuminc model is fitted [fit=cuminc(time, relapse)] and cumulative incidence is in place. I'd like to stack the cuminc plots (relapse of luekemia and death free from leukemia, for example) , then the constituent ratio of leukemia relapse and treatment related mortality is very clear. Can

Is there any R package that contains Rusboost based on Adaboost.m2?
Hi, I have been searching everywhere for an implementation of those algorithms, but I have only observed them in Matlab and on the literature. I noticed a package called 'ada' in CRAN but it is not for multi class. I would be happy with just Adaboost.m2, Smoteboost over adaboost.m2 or any other combination that could account for imbalanced multiclass classification problems. Thanks!

error bars on survival curve
I am using plot(survfit(Surv(time,status) ~...) and would like to add error bars rather than the confidence intervals. Am I able to do this at specified times? e.g. when time = 20 & 40. leukemia.surv <- survfit(Surv(time, status) ~ x, data = aml) plot(leukemia.surv, lty = 2:3,xlim = c(0,50)) #can i add error bars at times 20 & 40? legend(100, .9, c("Maintenance", "No

exporting adaBoost model
Dear all, I'm using adaBoost from the ada package to build a classification model. After training the model in R I'd like to use it in a Python application. Is it possible to export the model in some way to make translating into python easier? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Bob

SOS Boosting
Hi, I am trying to implement the Adaboost.M1. algorithm as described in "The Elements of Statistical Learning" p.301 I don't use Dtettling 's library "boost" because : - I don't understande the difference beetween Logitboost and L2boost - I 'd like to use larger trees than stumps. By using option weights set to (1/n, 1/n, ..., 1/n) in rpart or tree

boosting - second posting
Hi I am using boosting for a classification and prediction problem. For some reason it is giving me an outcome that doesn't fall between 0 and 1 for the predictions. I have tried type="response" but it made no difference. Can anyone see what I am doing wrong? Screen output shown below: > boost.model <- gbm(as.factor(train$simNuance) ~ ., # formula +

How automatic Y on install y/n prompts?
You are right, maintainer does keep a list of model's packages. So how do I use a variable instead of $adaboost$? getModelInfo()$adaboost$library Also, server not found: http://rwiki.sciviews.org/doku.php?id=getting-started:reference-cards:getting-help On Tue, Aug 1, 2017 at 11:46 AM, Bert Gunter <bgunter.4567 at gmail.com> wrote: > I have provided you all the

You should read the section on Indexing in the Introduction to R document that comes with R, regarding $ and `[[`. -- Sent from my phone. Please excuse my brevity. A problem subsetting a data frame
Hi all, I have this microarray large microarray data set (ALL) from which I would like to subset or extract a set of data based on a factor ($mol.biol). I looked up some example of subsetting in, picked up two commands and tried both but I got error messages as follows > testset <- subset(ALL, ALL$mol.biol %in% c("BCR/ABL","ALL1/AF4")) >> Error in

Weird differing results when using the Wilcoxon-test
Hi, I became a little bit confused when working with the Wilcoxon test in R. As far as I understood, there are mainly two versions: 1) wilcox.test{stats}, which is the default and an approximation, especially, when ties are involved 2) wilcox_test{coin}, which does calculate the distribution _exactly_ even, with ties. I have the following scenario: #---BeginCode--- # big example size = 60
