fuzzy classification and dissimilarity matrix
Hello,
I want to make a fuzzy classification from a dissimilarity matrix
(calculated with daisy from package 'cluster'). I have tried to use
fanny (package cluster) but I have the same problems than described in a
previous message
(http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/help/05/05/4546.html) i.e. it always
gives me two clusters in the results (even if k is different from 2)
with the same

type in daisy
Hi,
I'm a PhD student and I want to use the function 'daisy' from the
package 'cluster' to compute dissimilarities.
My variables are of mixed types so I use the argument 'stand' in daisy
to define the type of my variables.
I have the following error message :

Grandstream BT-101 POS Error
Hi-
I'm at my wit's end trying to get a Grandstream BT-101 POS to
register on my * server. Asterisk version is 1.2.1. GS Firmware is rev
1.0.6.7.
Basically, I've setup the phone following the instructions at
voip-info.org, and it registers for about 10 seconds, then after
receiving the SIP NOTIFY from the * server, goes into "flashing display"

samba3.0.1/win2000ad/kerberos5: user cannot logon
Hi everyone!
I've googled alot for this, and found *some* people with similar
questions, but there was no answer if this is a bug in samba, a
misconfiguration, or what?
I have a win2000 active directory Server (wurzel.baum.local), a samba
2.2.3a on debian stable/woody (stamm.baum.local), security = user, a
samba 3.0.1 on debian testing/Sarge (blatt1.baum.local) and a windowsxp

Weird problem - one machine works another doesn't on new server - both OK on old one.
Hello and Thanks in Advance,
I've been at this for three days now and can't think of anything else to
try. Been through the docs and #samba on openprojects and even begged
for direction in #samba-technical who suggested writing here.
On the ancient RedHat 5.2 server (SAMBA 1.9?) both boxes work OK and
continue to work OK with both servers now up (new one is from Mandrake

IE6 with Wine 0.9.12
Hello.
I'm looking for a howto to get IE6 installed on Wine 0.9.12.
I googled some, but I can't find any *recent* documentation
on how to get IE installed with Wine 0.9.12 - I only find
outdated information from 2005 or 2003.
First, I downloaded ie6setup.exe for 6_sp1 in English from

Status of Bugzilla #1153
Hi,
I'd like to know if there is any chance to get bug 1153 fixed
soon ? It seems like a trivial issue, a patch is provided, and it's a
pain for us to manually patch every new release -- this was reported
as a portable-specific bug, but also affects vanilla openssh.
The bug is described at http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1153

have_tag and line numbers
When I''ve got a view example like this:
1: response.should have_tag "fieldset#children" do
2: with_tag "child"
3: end
If it can''t find ''child'', the error seems to come back as my_spec.rb:1
instead of my_spec.rb:2.
Has anyone else experienced this? I just spent a while tracking down what I
assumed was a problem in my have_tag only to

Rake & Story Runner
So, having gotten a story (i.e. Story Runner) working (runs in NetBeans and
using ''ruby path/to/story.rb''), I''m looking to see how I''d integrate that
with our build.
Am I right in assuming that there''s no Rake integration yet, or a report? I
couldn''t see any. As far as I can see, "rake spec" doesn''t run or report

fixtures in before(:all)
I was planning on using a fixture within a description that didn''t modify
the fixture, so I put it in a before(:all) block:
describe "Customer", "xml" do
fixtures :customers
before(:all) do
one = customers(:one)
end
# ...
As a result, I got this message:

[PATCH] Add support for ldns
Hi,
as discussed before, we're trying to make use of SSHFP records (RFC
4255) to publish host key fingerprints in the DNS.
However, some non-OpenBSD platforms don't support DNSSEC in the native
resolver (e.g. glibc), which renders the whole thing quite useless,
since openssh correctly requires the RRs to be signed and validated.
The following patch adds support for ldns, an external

"Out of memory" error looking up SSHFP records
Hi,
we're currently considering making use of RFC4255 SSHFP records,
but are hitting a problem with a 4.4p1 client running on Tru64 5.1A:

debug3: verify_host_key_dns
DNS lookup error: out of memory
[...]
No matching host key fingerprint found in DNS.
A 4.3p2 linux client gives the following :

[tftp-hpa] [BUG] Bad src address on replies from aliased interfaces
Hi,
we're running tftp-hpa on a machine which will have to accept packets on
an aliased IP (for service redundancy and fallback). The server is
reachable using the alias, but replies using the primary IP of the
interface, which provokes a timeout on the client.
The workaround is to run tftp stand-alone and to explicitly specify the
alias IP on the command-line -- however this is not very

limit to complex plots?
Hello all.
I am trying to create one figure, divided into 6 graphs/plots each with an inset sub-figure. I can use to layout command to generate one figure with one inset sub-figure, but cannot seem to do it for multiple figures on one page.
I've tried a test with the following code:
layout(matrix(c(1,2,3,4), nrow=2, byrow=TRUE))
plot(rnorm(10), rnorm(10))
plot(rnorm(10), rnorm(10))

False Positives and Autotest on New Folders
False Positives
I just discovered how easy it was to create a false positive when I, trying
my first RSpec test, did this:
ob.should eql?(''foo'')
instead of:
ob.should eql(''foo'')
or:
ob.should == ''foo''
As far as I can see, this is roughly equivalent to:
ob.should false
Neither eql?(''foo'') nor false causes the spec

PUT- or POST-ing xml
I''d like to write a test of a REST service wherein XML is submitted as the
request entity.
In Test::Unit on Rails, this seems to be possible in an integration test,
but not in a functional test. RSpec uses the Rails functional test
framework, as far as I can tell, so it suffers the same result; it tries to
symbolize the keys of the ''parameters'' hash, except the

I want to perform a synthetic control method with R. For this purpose, I

# Load the Excel file
