Programming Problem (for loop, random # control, 3 dimentional graph)
Dear List, This is just a programming problem which i cannot seem to figure out. I am trying to get a set of power from a test (say, kolmogorov smirnov) out of a distribution (say, G-K distribution) as follows. I am trying to reduce to pain of writing the whole set of data points (p# below) using "for" loop. However, I seem to have some problem in it as the output "M" does not

New Feature: Graphing
Hi all, One of the major new features in the upcoming release is that Puppet now uses a graph library internally to handle resource relationships. The big benefit to all of you is that you can use this library to turn these graphs into images. The trick, right now, is adding --graph when you run puppetd. This creates .dot files, which can then be interpreted by the

Plotting MDS (multidimensional scaling)
Hi, I just encountered what I thought was strange behavior in MDS. However, it turned out that the mistake was mine. The lesson learned from my mistake is that one should plot on a square pane when plotting results of an MDS. Not doing so can be very misleading. Follow the example of an equilateral triangle below to see what I mean. I hope this helps others to avoid this kind of headache.

merging data.frames of different length
hi, I have two data.frames each with two columns; x1 1 4 1 3 1 6 2 9 2 2 2 5 3 6 3 7 3 4 x2 1 -3 1 -7 2 -3 2 -2 2 -8 3 -1 3 -2 3 -1 now I want to merge this data.frames to one data.frame. The problem is, that sometimes there is a different number of elements per category. (like above x1 has 3 values for the value 1 in the first row, but x2 has only 2 values for the value 1 in the

Faster way to zero-pad a data frame...?
Hello List, I am working on creating periodograms from IP network traffic logs using the Fast Fourier Transform. The FFT requires all the data points to be evenly-spaced in the time domain (constant delta-T), so I have a step where I zero-pad the data. Lately I've been wondering if there is a faster way to do this. Here's what I've got: * data1 is a data frame consisting of

plotting percent of incidents within different 'bins'
Hi Say I have some data, two columns in a table being a binary outcome plus a predictor and I want to plot a graph that shows the percentage positives of the binary outcome within bands of the predictor, e.g. Outcome predictor 0 1 1 2 1 2 0 3 0 3 0

treatment of zero and negative elements in matrix indices
Matrix indexing seems to give rather "variable" results when zeros or negative values are included among the indices (in terms of both error messages and in terms of the number of returned values when there is no error message). Is this the intended behavior? I couldn't see any comments about zeros or negative values in matrix indices in either ?"[" or Section 3.4.2

VERY SIMPLE QUESTION
Dear R users, I am looking for more efficient way to compute the followings -------------------------------------------------------------------------- a <- matrix(c(1,1,1,1,2,2,2,2),4,2) b <- matrix(c(1,2,3,4),4,1) Eventually, I want to get this matrix, `c`. c <- matrix(c(1/1,1/2,1/3,1/4,2/1,2/2,2/3,2/4),4,2) --------------------------------------------------------------------------

ConstantRange modelling precision?
Hello. This question has come up in https://reviews.llvm.org/D70043 There, i'm teaching ConstantRange how no-wrap flags affect the range of `mul` instruction, with end goal of exploiting this in LVI/CVP. There are certain combinations of ranges and no-wrap flags that result in always-overflowing `mul`. For example, `mul nuw nsw i4 [2,0), [4,0)` always overflows:

hang up when going to voicemail
I have a little menu set up where hitting 1, 2, or 3 places the call through to a cellular phone over IAX. That works. However, if caller hits 4 to go into voicemail, the system hangs up. Am I doing something wrong in the dial plan, or is this a CVS change? I had no trouble with this until I upgraded to about 07/21 CVS, and I'm on 07/23 [latest] now with same results. My dial plan:

unexpected result in function valuation
Dear all, I have a very small script to plot a function. Here it is: ########################################## sinca <- function(N,th) { return(sin((N+0.5)*th)/sin(0.5*th)) } plot_sinca <- function(N) { x <- seq(-5*pi,5*pi,by=pi/100) y <- rep(0,length=length(x)) for (i in 1:length(x))y[i] <- sinca(N,x[i]) plot(x,y,type="l",ylim=c(0,2*N+4)) return(c(x,y)) }

Problem: no such extension 'xx' in context 'default'
Hi Guys, I am not so familiar with asterisk and hope to get help here. I am having now some stupid errors. My goal for the first, is to create a simple pbx with different context. As long as I use only the contex 'default' everything seems to work perfect. Now I tried to add another context i.e 'internal' and the asterisk is complaining for not finding the required extension in

Accumulating CPU load from Xorg process with DRI3

qemu -display sdl,gl=on also eats CPU

grid: How to merge cells in grid.layout?
Dear grid expeRts, I would like to create a layout with grid that looks like the following, but with cells (1,1), (1,4), (4,1), and (4,4) removed and cells (2,1) and (3,1) (and (4,2) and (4,3)) combined to one cell (so that contents can easily be centered. How can this be achieved? require(grid) gl <- grid.layout(4, 4, widths=unit(c(1, 3, 3, 1), "cm"),

[LLVMdev] RFB: Would like to flip the vector shuffle legality flag
I filed a couple more, in case they're actually different issues: - http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=22412 - http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=22413 And that's pretty much it for internal changes. I'm fine with flipping the switch; Quentin, are you? Also, just to have an idea, do you (or someone else!) plan to tackle these in the near future? -Ahmed On Thu, Jan 29, 2015 at
