lpSolve and mixed signs
Hi R People: If you have a linear programming problem in which some of the constraints have the "<=", some have ">=" and some have "=", all in the same problem, should the solver work? I'm having trouble with that. Any help much appreciated! Sincerely, Erin Hodgess mailto: hodgess at gator.uhd.eud whoops! mailto: hodgess at gator.uhd.edu

Search&replace string?
Hi there, I would like to know if it is possible to modify a text file with a R function. In fact I would like to know if a function "Search & Replace" exists. My problem is to create config files from a Base file in which I have to modify values of parameters. My Base File: #... #... Param1= V1_1 #... Param2 = V2_1 Param3 = V3_1 #... What I would like for each created file

constrOptim does ineq, not eq, but who do ?
Hi everybody, please, could you give me help ? I scanned the help archives and didn't found hints... I want to solve a large sparse linear system subjected to an inequality constrains (all solutions positive) and an equality constrain (all solutions sum to 1), thus I tried to fool constrOptim using: x[1] + 0 + ... + 0 >= 0 ... 0 + 0 + ... + x[n] >= 0 x[1] + x[2] + ... +

dyn.load problem under linux
Dear HelpeRs, I am trying to use an thirdy-part library under Linux (the library is developed both for Windows and for Linux). I have tried different solutions (with the library developer) but we are not able to solve the problem. So I try to ask for your help in order to escape from the full stop where we are at the moment. The problem looks to depend on the dyn.load function (technical

a best way to write this.
I have a form, with 3 fields, then in my controller I get the paramters to run a query but I don''t want to filter with paramters if they are nil or blank... I''m doing this @condition = '''' if(params.....) @condition = @condition + " myparamter = " + params[..... if(params.....) @condition = @condition + " myparamter = " +

error message in simulation
Dear R-users, I am a dentist (so forgive me if my question looks stupid) and came across a problem when I did simulations to compare a few single level and two level regressions. The simulations were interrupted and an error message came out like 'Error in MEestimate(lmeSt, grps) : Singularity in backsolve at level 0, block 1'. My collegue suggested that this might be due to my codes

single-threaded code-gen and how to make it support multi-thread
Hi llvm-dev, Our code base has a ancient copy of llvm (ver 3.5.1), and it uses the LLVM code gen for some domain-specific language. The previous dev left a global lock around the usage of LLVM code gen stating that because LLVM code gen can only be accessed single-threaded it needs to be protected with this global lock. But now this lock has caused some perf issues as we pretty much lose

correlation coefficient from qq plot
Hi, I am trying to figure out how to get the correlation coefficient for a QQ plot (residual plot). So to be more precise, I am creating the plot like this: qq.plot(rstudent(regrname), main = rformula, col=1) But want to also access (or compute) the correlation coefficient for that plot. Thanks, Tom [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Inserting a subsequence between values of a vector
Hallo, suppose I have a vector: x <- c(1,1,1,2,2,3,3,3,3,3,4) How can I generate a vector/sequence in which a fixed number of zeroes (say 3) is inserted between the consecutive values, so I get 1,1,1,0,0,0,2,2,0,0,0,3,3,3,3,3,0,0,0,4 thanks a lot, Serguei [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Array dimnames
Dear all, Possibly a rudimentary question, however any help is greatly appreciated. I am sorting a large matrix into an array of dim(p(i),q,3). I put each entry into a corresponding matrix (1 of the 3) based on some criteria. I figure this will assist me in condensing code as I can loop through the 3rd dimension of the array instead of generating 3 separate matrices and using the same block of

Multiple stacked barplots on the same graph?
Dear R-Users, I would like to know whether it is possible to draw several stacked barplots (i.e. side by side on the same sheet)... my data look like : Cond1 Cond1' Cond2 Cond2' Compartment 1 11,81 2,05 12,49 0,70 Compartment 2 10,51 1,98 13,56 0,85 Compartment 3 1,95 0,63 2,81 0,22 Compartment 4 2,08 0,17

Parameters to Event Handler Function
I need a way to pass parameters to an event handler function other than just the e. I''m declaring the handler as such: Event.observe(''regmenu'', ''mouseover'', togglein, false); I need a way to pass parameters to the togglein function. I''m getting tripped up by the fact that the event object is getting automatically passed. -- Yehuda Katz Web

selection list
Hello! I want to create a command for choosing input parameters via a new window that shows a table in which the parameters can be written in. R should open a seperate window in which the user is asked to put in some values (just numbers), afterwards a new file containing these values should be created and saved in the working directory. Does anybody how I can solve that problem and which package

single-threaded code-gen and how to make it support multi-thread
Thank you Johannes, I looked it up and it seems that we're creating one LLVMContext per compilation "unit", not sure if that matters. i.e. there's no single globally shared LLVMContext object. Is LLVMContext *the* concurrency isolation (or unit) here? On Wed, Apr 3, 2019 at 6:34 PM Doerfert, Johannes <jdoerfert at anl.gov> wrote: > Do you use one llvm context or one

I have added the following line in my routing.rb file. map.connect ''name/:id'', :controller => ''controller_name'', :action => ''action_name'' When I use http://domain.com/controller_name/action_name/id then it works fine on the local machine using webrick

Using apply to get group means
Hi all, I'm trying to improve my R skills and make my programming more efficient and succinct. I can solve the following question, but wonder if there's a better way to do it: I'm trying to calculate mean by several variables and then put this back into the original data set as a new variable. For example, if I were measuring weight, I might want to have each individual's

Help MLE
Dear, I'm starting on R language. I would like some help to implement a MLE function. I wish to obtain the variables values (alpha12, w_g12, w_u12) that maximize the function LL = Y*ln(alpha12 + g*w_g12 + u*w_u12). Following the code: rm(list=ls()) ls() library(stats4) Model = function(alpha12,w_g12,w_u12) { Y = 1 u = 0.5 g = -1 Y*log(alpha12 + g*w_g12 + u*w_u12) } res =

Use of the index of a for loop to assign values to the ro ws of a series of variables
1. The matrices are only 3x2. In your loop you'd be assigning rows 4 and 5 in the last two iterations. Are you sure that's what you want? 2. The reason it ``didn't work'' is because assign() takes the first argument as the name of the object to create, literally, instead of evaluating it. 3. You probably ought to be working with a list. E.g.: m <- replicate(5,
