Invalid "times" argument?
Hello, I'm new to R and work with psychometrics (Item response theory). I was using a package called "cirt" to model a data that contains only 0s, 1s and 9s. The package is basically used for Monte Carlo Markov Chain estimation of parameters and I specified 5000 iterations. The model seems to run fine but when I try to recover odds ratio statistics using the function

HSM devices and FreeBSD
I am essentially asking the same question that Eirik Overby asked a couple of years ago. Is anyone aware of PCI-X/PCIe hardware security modules that are supported on FreeBSD? I have not seen any on the FreeBSD hardware compatibility lists. Again, as Eirik noted in his question, HSMs are not simply crypto accelerators (which are supported on FreeBSD), they also are a means of storing keys

Dual mono not stereo
Hi, If I want to encode two audio channels that are not related, audio from two different sources not stereo, is it best to create two instances of a single channel encoder or use one encoder with two channels? thank you, Paul.

Package or function for selecting matched pairs?
Hi all, I am designing a study in which I am selecting a subset of college courses to be randomly assigned to one of two conditions. I would like to create matched pairs of courses, and then randomly assign them to condition within each pair. I would like to identify, for each course, the one that best matches it, and quantify how well it matches. Here is a much simpler data set for purposes of

read multiple large files into one dataframe
Hello Apologies if this is a simple question, I have searched the help and have not managed to work out a solution. Does anybody know an efficient method for reading many text files of the same format into one table/dataframe? I have around 90 files that contain continuous data over 3 months but that are split into individual days data and I need the whole 3 months in one file for

Config and other areas of struggle
Confused me for ages.. until one day! Which out of the listed machines (on the router) is the one you are needing the port forwarded to? Forward that machine to the port you require, I would have used a lower port number 8010 or another unused port. arecord pipe to celtenc just stops
Hi all, Just found out about this codec and I'm really impressed. I compiled celt-0.5.2.tar.gz on my desktop and tried out a few tests. I then did a native fixed point arm compile on my beagleboard which also worked a treat. Before I get started with the library I was trying to see if I could grab some real time audio, encode it and write to a file using arecord in conjunction with

celtclient 64kbps more than expected
Hi, The default settings for celtclient are:- Sampling rate 48000 Frame size 256 Packet size 43 According to my calculations this should give a bitrate of 64kbit/sec + a little extra for the 32bit time stamp and 4 null byte pseudo header. Using vnstat I was very surprised to see that it was reporting a bitrate usage of around 16kbyte/sec which is 128kbit/sec, double what I was expecting. I

OT A little off topic - Logo for promotion purposes?
Hi, I'm putting some promotional material together and noticed that most proprietary codec manufacturers have a nice eye-catching memorable logo. Does the CELT codec have a snazzy logo that I can use as a nice memory aid when telling people how great the codec is? thank you, Paul.

icecast internet access
I have ices/icecast running and can listen on my home network. I am using port 8020 because my isp blocks 80, and 8080 is being used. I have a dyndns address and webhop. My problem is that I can't seem to get the audio page and stream outside of my home network. My router and firewall are open correctly as far as I can tell. Is there an easy guide to set up the webpage for outside

Config and other areas of struggle
I think some fundamental misunderstanding thing is perhaps going on. What is the icecast server that I can see here: http://home.dayme.me:28888 supposed to be streaming? And If you use the local IP of that icecast server on another local machine (or same machine) can you then see the admin page? Go back to first line: What is the icecast server that I can see here: http://home.dayme.me:28888

Config and other areas of struggle
Hi Damien (where Dan come from??) I use 81.174.146.88:28888 Bet your router does not have loopback So if you are using sam broadcaster it needs the icecast settings input to it, so it can forward to the icecast server. If you use the local IP address of the icecast server you will see what I see. Regards From: Damien Sykes-Lindley Sent: Saturday, July 23, 2016 10:29 AM To: Icecast streaming

Config and other areas of struggle
I’m listening to you both, Its working, but not for you locally, could be a firewall issue on your PC? perhaps changing the port to 8010? If other servers can be seen on the WAN from your internal network it could be a port conflict, or firewall issue. Config and other areas of struggle
Hi there, I am relatively new in the field of server administration, so please do bear with me if my question has an answer which seems blatantly obvious. I recently installed the latest Icecast onto my machine and read the documentation in order to find out how to configure the server. Both the information in the docs, and even the example config file, seemed reasonablly self-explanatory. After

Config and other areas of struggle
I use a few raspberry pi’s and leave the icecast settings as localhost, and run darkice on the same Pi, I have let the router know to pass requests to port 8000 to the IP of the Pi. Using your external IP is not right, if your server is say 192.168.1.21 thats the port forward, just be sure that the ports you use are in the router too, udp/tcp I use both myself watch for typos. I think you are
