Summary of,all undefined globals
Dear Listers,
Kurt (subject "CRAN packages maintained by you" sent on 02/07/2015) was
mentionning to package maintainers that "with current versions of
r-devel, one can get a convenient summary of all undefined globals" and
describing how to get a summary conveniently.
Now I am using R 3.2.3 but cannot get this by using rcmd check --as-cran

Package installation and path.package
Dear R-Devels,
I am writing right now my own package that makes use of 'tempfile' and there within with 'path.package'. When I install it, I get the error: Error in path.package("mypackage") : none of the packages are loaded. Here is the code, I use in my package:

R-2.6.0 and RWinEdt
Dear Listers,
I have just installed R-2.6.0 and the RWinEdt package 1.7-6 under
Windows XP.
The R-WinEdt menu well appears at launching (the command
library(RWinEdt) is in .Rprofile), but WinEdt is NOT started
automatically (this was not the case in the earlier versions of R). When
WinEdt is started by hand (eg double-click on a RWinEdt alias after R
launching), syntax highlighting and

AIC and anova, lme
Dear listers,
Here we have a strange result we can hardly cope with. We want to
compare a null mixed model with a mixed model with one independent
variable.

writing a simple package in R 2.0 under Windows XP
Dear listers,
I have developped a set of functions that I would like to package on a
Windows XP plateform for some friends (this would be more simple than to
deliver them as a source text file without handy help). I am working under
Windows XP.
Of course I have gone through the manual "Writing R extension" and try to
sort out what a most simple "packaging" for beginner

Building latest version of package
Hi
I have a package which was built using R 1.9.1 and everything worked
fine. I recently upgraded to R 2.0.1 and tried to re-install my package
- and I got:
Error in library(mypackage) : 'mypackage' is not a valid package --
installed < 2.0.0?
So I tried rebuilding it using my new version of R:
R CMD BUILD --binary mypackage

cp: cannot stat `mypackage.chm': No

glmmPQL and variance structure
Dear listers,
glmmPQL (package MASS) is given to work by repeated call to lme. In the
classical outputs glmmPQL the Variance Structure is given as " fixed
weights, Formula: ~invwt". The script shows that the function
varFixed() is used, though the place where 'invwt' is defined remains
unclear to me. I wonder if there is an easy way to specify another
variance

R CMD check: Error in .C
Function/file names are hypothetical. Say I have written myfunction.R,
which calls myfunction.c via .C("myfunction", ...).
I've compiled successfully myfunction.c via R CMD SHLIB myfunction.c
in the terminal. Then, in the R console:
dyn.load("myfunction.so")
source("myfunction.R")
test <- myfunction() # works fine
So everything is in order, myfunction works

POSIX, time zone and Windows
Dear Listers,
Apologize to pile up on the 'tz' issue in POSIX objects. I have a
'simple' thing on which I must make up my mind but cannot do it from the
existing R-help threads. I am currently working on dog telemetry in
China, and download time information from GPS collars. I would like to
set up the corresponding POSIXxx variables in R to a given time zone. Eg

Example input data with example output using relative pathway in vignette of R package?
I'm putting together an R package. I would like to show example code in the
vignette, where example data files (included in the package) are used to
generate an (example) output file.
I read about using example data in Hadley Wickham's post (
http://r-pkgs.had.co.nz/data.html), and believe I should keep my example
data as raw data, as it must be parsed to generate the output.
So, I

R 2.0.0: namespaces, S4 classes & versioned package installation: failure to resolve correct pkg version
Hi,
further down from the problem I asked about yesterday I encounter the following
problem (please appologize for the lengthy mail - I have not found a brief example
making the issue clear):
- using R packages making use of namespaces &
- S4 classes
when using
--with-package-versions in the install call:
Pkgs install ok and the first pkg 'base' can be loaded in R

creating a package with internal (hiden) S4 classes and methods

I am writing my first R package and it finally past the R CMD check.
Before sending it to CRAN, I would like to check a few issues.
1. I created s4 classes and methods in the package but I want only 1
function (foo) to be available to users and documented in the manual
that goes with the package. I put foo in 1 file and the rest (internal
functions, classes and methods) in a

Fortran and C entry point problem.
Dear All,
I have seen a number of e mails on this topic but I have not seen a
general solution to date. I have Fortran and C source codes and they
have been compiled successfully using:
R CMD build mypackage
And
R CMD install mypackage
Without error messages.
I then open R and tests out two functions and get:
