opimization problem
hi, i want to execute the following opimization problem: max r*w s.t.: w*z=1 # sum of w is 1 r, w are [nx1] vectors, z is a [nx1] vector consisting of 1 so far so good, works fine with lp the problem arises with the additional restriction w' * V * w where V is a [nxn] matrix how can i include this restriction since w arises twice? thanks, gg --

streaming live mp3?
Hello, Is there a chance that either ices0 will get support for live-streaming from line-in or ices2 for streaming mp3? I tried darkice, but this didn't work out with a decent sampling rate on my box (see [1])... Also tried liveice, but this does not seem to work at all with icecast2 (when changing the port to 8001 I got this simple UI but icecast2 didn't notice any new mount). I looked

Greetings, I'm working on some analyses where I need to calculate wilcox tests for paired samples. In my current literature search I've found a few papers on sample size determination for the wilcox test notably: Sample Size Determination for Some Common Nonparametric Tests Gottfried E. Re: [ovirt-users] Slow conversion from VMware in 4.1
Hello Richard, unfortunately upgrading virt-v2v is not an option. Would be nice, but integration with vdsm is not yet ready for that options. On Thu, Jan 25, 2018 at 11:06 AM, Richard W.M. Xapian 1.2.19 released
I'm happy to be able to announce the release of Xapian 1.2.19, which you can download from: http://xapian.org/download Since 1.2.16, release tarballs are compressed with xz instead of gzip, as it provides much better compression, without being too slow to decompress. (For now at least, Search::Xapian is still gzipped.) We decided not to provide multiple formats for the downloads. The size

R-SIG-Debian Digest, Vol 78, Issue 3
Hi, Does anyone use spgrass6 with GRASS 7 and R? The documentation for spgrass6 states it is for GRASS6+, and if I recall correctly I saw Dr. Bivand mention that it works well with GRASS7. (There were some threads from 2009 where spgrass6 wasn't working with GRASS7 yet, but I assumed that information was out of date.) So I figured I was doing something wrong with the library and package

whisper time remaining
Hello everyone, I'm trying to find out a way to whisper the time remaining for a prepaid application on a established channel. Unfortunately I think there is a lack of PlayBack/Background commands which can be applied on a working channel as well as a lack of spy/whispering commands available via Asterisk Manager. Does anyone know how to implement this? Thanks a lot. Regards, Victor

Vorbis/Lame
Hi, I think that it would be a good thing to know more about those 2 projects (and also the future patent free format). I think that many people as me know about Lame, but not about Vorbis, and vice-versa. It would be fine that someone (perhaps the maintainer) of every project would introduce to both group of people those projects. 2 things would be interesting (to my mind): - to know about the

Idea/package to "linearize a curve" along the diagonal?
Hi, I am trying to normalize some data. First I fitted a principal curve (using the LCPM package), but now I would like to apply a transformation so that the curve becomes a "straight diagonal line" on the plot. The data used to fit the curve would then be normalized by applying the same transformation to it. A simple solution could be to apply translations only (e.g., as done after a

Samba server crashes when logging in at XP
Hello, in our school I have installed Debian Sarge with Samba 3.0.14a and LDAP. Everything worked fine as long as we used Windows 98SE. Now I have installed Windows XP Prof SP2 (with recommended registry patches). I am able to join the workstations to the domain (after commenting out "ldap_filter ..." in smb.conf). I am able to login from each workstation, everything seemed
