nlme cross-over and fixed nested
I have problem getting the concept of a nested fixed variable into the nlme
scheme. I fear the question is very stupid. In the past I had asked this
before, and never got a reply (in other cases, the response was within
hours). I also checked the S-list, where several similar enquiries of other
people are orphaned.

SE of ANOVA (aov) with repeated measures and a bewtween-subject factor
Hallo!
I have data of the following design:
NSubj were measured at Baseline (visit 1) and at 3
following time points (visit 2, visit 3, visit 4).
There is or is not a treatment.
Most interesting is the question if there is a
difference in treatment between the results of visit 4
and baseline. (The other time points are also of
interest.) The level of significance is alpha=0.0179

Layout of mulitpage conditioned lattice plots
Dear latticists,
I would like to spread a lattice conditioned plot over multiple pages,
keeping the same layout as if I had only one page as shown in the code
below.
My workaround is to divide the dataframe into subset that fit on one page,
but the code is ugly.
Is there a build-in way to achieve this?

Result depends on order of factors in unbalanced designs (lme, anova)?
Dear R-Community!
For example I have a study with 4 treatment groups (10 subjects per group) and 4 visits. Additionally, the gender is taken into account. I think - and hope this is a goog idea (!) - this data can be analysed using lme as below.
In a balanced design everything is fine, but in an unbalanced design there are differences depending on fitting y~visit*treat*gender or

Dear helpers please provide me some helpful answer to my problem while I m
trying to run a program .I m attaching both the program and the data to
which I have to obtain my estimation results.
"Motives.dat" is the data file, and "OBTfile4.3" is the complete code of
program. by Running this

Frequencies from a matrix - spider from frequencies
First of all, I really like R! Still being a newbie, I find things (the
difficult ones) to be very simple.
Alas, some 'simple' things still escape me. (Maybe the tutorials are
often too much focused on the 'difficult' items??)
Here comes my 'problem', over which I have sweated for the last 2 hours:
My data are of a matrix 10x31, Likert Scale (1-5). 10 questions, 31

Looping through R objects with $ operator and tags
Hi all,
Suppose I want to set the values in a column to the log of the values
of another column like so:
object$LogDist <- log10(object$Distance)
How do I loop through the objects if I have object1, object2, etc to
perform this function?
object1$LogDist <- log10(object1$Distance)
object2$LogDist <- log10(object2$Distance)
object3$LogDist <- log10(object3$Distance)

repeated measures help; disagreement with SPSS
Hi, all.
I have a simple design I'm comparing to output from SPSS.
the design is 1 repeated measure (session) and 1 between measure
(cond). my dependent measure is rl. here is the data I'm using (in a
data.frame):
mig <- data.frame(subj=factor(rep(subj,3)),
cond=factor(rep(cond,3)),
session=factor(c(rep(1,nsubj),rep(2,nsubj),rep(3,nsubj))),

scatterplot3d bug??
Hey guys,
Not sure if I encountered a bug with the scatterplot3d function.
Here's the calls I made:

panel data unit root tests
When finally got some time to do some coding, I started and stopped right
after. The stationary test is a good starting point because it demonstrates
how we should be able to move the very basic R matrices. I have a real-
world small N data set with
rows:
id(n=1)---t1---variable1
...
id=(N=20)---T=21---variable1
Thus, a good test case. For first id I was considering something like this:

Error t value matrix
Hi all,
I want to make the following:
I want to run a linear regression on each column of a matrix "estima" on
the correspondent column on the matrix "estima2".
You see I want to regress estima[,1] on estima2[,1] this way to all
columns....
At the same time I want to make a regression adding each time a new
observation.
You see, the first regression will regress only one

question about CIFS client glitches
Hello,
Trying out a CIFS mount of a W2K8 x64 file system from CentOS
5.5 and running into problems, and trying to figure out how to
proceed.
I mount up the Windows share, then run a script that expands
about ten TAR format archives containing a couple of hundred
files with the 'pax' utility. Then it removes about two dozen
files. The script is a primitive source-code version

I´m re-starting (as my name indicates) my little knowlegde of CRAN R.
I made this function time before but I don´t know where is the error
because nothing appears as an error but the histogram plot doesn´t appear.
Should I install some special library to run sapply?

monthly median in a daily dataset
Hello,
I have a multi-year dataset (see below) with date, a data value and a flag
for the data value. I want to find the monthly median for each month in this
dataset and then plot it. If anyone has suggestions they would be greatly
apperciated. It should be noted that there are some dates with no values and
they should be removed.
Thanks

Spacewalk? Local repo? Cache?
I have a mix of CentOS 5, 6, and now 7 servers at work. There are enough of them now that it is starting to make sense for them to get updates from an internal source.
I've seen RHN Satellite in years past. It looks like it may be a way to allow Windows admins here (familiar with WSUS) to update Linux boxes. A local repo might be easier to set up, but (as with Spacewalk) it seems like
