Solving ODEs
Hello.
I'm solving ODEs in R. I need "as many methods as possible",
so I downloaded the Fortran functions from http://www.netlib.org/ode/.
Then I created DLLs and dyn.loaded them to R. Problem is that
I don't know how to use them. I've been trying for many days
and can't solve it. So I would be very glad if you could give me
some link (or whatever) where I can see how to

Dynamic loading problem.
I'm having a dynamic loading problem that seems to be
caused by exponentiation (the ** operator in Fortran/ratfor).
This can be illustrated by the following toy example:
===+===+===+===+===+===+===+===+===+===+===+===+===+===+===+===+===+===+===
% cat foo.r
subroutine foo(x,n)
x = x**n
return
end
% f77 -c foo.r

% R CMD SHLIB -o foo.so foo.o

hi R-users,
a few days ago R 2.2.1 came out. on my win xp i'installed R 2.2.0. along the time i've installed a lot of contributed packages. my internet-connection is not very fast.
so my question: is it possible after installing R 2.2.1 to do copy/paste the contributed packages from the C:\Programme\R221 to the C:\Programme\R2.2.1- location in the files system?

Reloading a shared library with dyn.load
Hi,
I'm using dyn.load to load a shared library (compiled from C
code) into R. If I dyn.unload it and then dyn.load it again, I
get an hourglass icon in Rgui (R 1.7.0, Win 2000), and it
just sits there forever. I can't press Escape to stop the
current computation, but I can close Rgui without resorting to
using the Task Manager.
Is it a problem with my use of R_alloc? Do I need

R + C + Lapack toy regression example
dear list,
since matrix manipulations is often of interest in statistical
computations, i'd like to get a working example of using Lapack for
regression. However, i run into an error.

I am writing C code to implement in R. I am using R CMD SHLIB and then

installed the latest R version, I have found that if I alter my C code and

dyn.load
Hello,
I have a probleme with the dynamic loading. I make
two librairies "myfct.so" and "otherfct.so", where
"myfct.so" is calling functions of "otherfct.so",
and I want dyn.load() each of it, without generating
a unique librarie. For exemple :
myfct.c :
void myfct(double *x, double *y)
{
otherfct(x);
*y=(*x)+1.0;
}
myoth.c :
void otherfct( double *x

dyn.load problem
Hi R-Users
I wrote 1 week ago asking about a message that appears when I try run
dyn.load.
I'm trying to do an example in C code from "Writing R Extension" to
learn how to do it.
I have R 2.0.0, Rtools, Perl and MinGW as describe in
http://www.murdoch-sutherland.com/Rtools/ with path sets.
When I use C:\R\rw2000\bin>RCMD SHLIB -o C:/dev-cpp/teste.dll

dyn.load in linux: missing libraries?
Hi,
I've just about got myself transferred from windowsXP to Linux (Mepis
3.3.1-1). I've got R 2.1.1, emacs, and ess running from the debian
repositories. Of course, there is a hitch. I have a bit of C code in one
of my personal functions. I have, apparently without problem, been able
to compile it using R CMD SHLIB, but when I try to dyn.load it I get the

Undefined symbol when trying to dyn.load a shared object
I hope that someone reading this list can offer some suggestions on how I can incorporate external C libraries in C functions that I want to call from R. I have gone through all of the documentation, help files and mailing list archives and have not been able to find a satisfactory solution.
I have constructed a simple example of the problem, since my "real" program is much more

how to link C code with gsl from R CMD and dyn.load
Hi,
I am writing a function in C that is meant to be called by R. In the C
function, I used a gsl function gsl_stats_mean. The code is as simple as
below
void gsl(double *m, int *dim){
int r, c;
r = dim[0];
c = dim[1];
double mean = gsl_stats_mean(&m[0], 1, r);
Rprintf("mean = %f\n", mean);
}
The C code is succesfully compiled and the output is as follows.
$ R CMD SHLIB

One of my fortran programs contains a subroutine named fstat
Trying to trace , I simplified the sequence as much as possible

Hi!
I would like to call a Fortran subroutine within R. For doing this, I first
built a shared library for loading into R under Unix and it was successful.
But when I tried to load a shared library using dyn.load() function for use in
.Fortran(), I got an error message.
The command I input below in R is:

Dyn.load of sharing object with GSL library
Following the recommendation of Prof. Ripley, I have created the Makevars
file with the line:
PKG_LIBS="-L/usr/lib/libm -lm -L/usr/local/lib/libgsl -lgsl -L/usr/local/lib
/libgslcblas -lgslcblas"
in the working directory.
Now I have the code file Example3.c which computes the Bessel function value
(the example is taken from the GSL reference book).
I am running:
R CMD SHLIB Example3.c

Include C++ DLL, error in ...: C symbol name not in load table
Hello R experts
I am googling and reading around, however, I can't get it working
(perhaps because I do not understand much C, however, I'll give it
a try). I am trying to include C++ code into an R routine, where
the C++ code looks:
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
void foo (double* x, double* y, double* out)
{
out[0] = x[0] + y[0];
}
Back in R, the command
