umlauts in Rd files
Hi I'm having difficulty following the advice in section 2.7 of R-exts. In one of my packages, there is a function called mobius(). I want to refer to it in the Rd file as the M??bius function, and to illustrate the M??bius inversion formula (just to be explicit: this is "Mobius" but with two dots over the second letter). R-exts section 2.7 gives \enc{J??reskog}{Joreskog}

Addendum to wishlist bug report #10931 (factanal) (PR#12754)
--=-hiYzUeWcRJ/+kx41aPIZ Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Hi, on March 10 I filed a wishlist bug report asking for the inclusion of some changes to factanal() and the associated print method. The changes were originally proposed by John Fox in 2005; they make print.factanal() display factor correlations if factanal() is called with rotation =

suggestion to fix packageDescription() for Windows users
I'd be curious to know what others think of Rich's patch. If it is acceptable, I can spend time that I was going to look at it this week on another bug. -----Original Message----- From: Rich Calaway Sent: Friday, June 23, 2017 6:34 PM To: Nathan Sosnovske <nsosnov at microsoft.com>; Duncan Murdoch <murdoch.duncan at gmail.com>; Andrie de Vries <apdevries at gmail.com>

Windows iconv() "failure" in certain locales
This is a continuation of the R-devel thread with subject "suggestion to fix packageDescription() for Windows users" : As I said there, a patch should rather address the underlying problem in packageDescription rather than a kludgy workaround patch for citation(). (For that same reason, Ben Marwick proposed to fix packageDescription() rather than the symptom seen in citation().)

R 1.9.0, special characters in variable names.
Hello all, I upgraded from R 1.8.1 to 1.9.0 (Windows XP), and spotted an odd thing. The last three letters in the Swedish alphabet are ??, ?? and ??. (In case they don't show correctly: they are a with a ring, a with two dots, and o with two dots (HTML: å ä ö). When I use these as variable names in a data.frame, odd things happen: In R 1.8.1, ?? (å)

Localization problems with leeding html escaped ÅÄÖ
Hi All. When translating a string to in swedish, using HTML codes for å,ä,ö i have a minor problem. Eg: (se.yaml) ui_core_over: Över All I get when calling l(''ui_core_over'') in my view is "Ouml;ver" The leeding & is missing, making the page look silly. The HTML characters works fine as long as it''s not used as the first letter in the string.

[Rd] source(echo = TRUE) with a iso-8859-1 encoded file gives an error
I have very little knowledge about file encodings and would like to learn more. I've read the following pages to learn more: http://stat.ethz.ch/R-manual/R-devel/library/base/html/Encoding.html https://stackoverflow.com/questions/4806823/how-to-detect-the-right-encoding-for-read-csv https://developer.r-project.org/Encodings_and_R.html The last one, in particular, has been very

Samba 3.0.2a with ADS w2k3 Active Directory, enctypes
Hi people, I have a Linux box running Samba 3.0.2a in ADS mode MIT Kerberos 1.3.3. My W2K e WXP users can't access the linux box by netbios name, the only access that works is by IP address, I know that's caused because access thought IP address don't make use of Kerberos. The most strange for me it's that the same environment works fine with a W2K Active Directory, I read in same

KEIL 5.23 (TI: ARM compiler tool chain 5.2.7) C. setup the encoder as the below (fs is the sampling frequency) enc = opus_encoder_create(fs, chans, OPUS_APPLICATION_AUDIO, &opus_err);

ChaCha20 Rekey Frequency
I was wondering if there was something specific to the internal chacha20 cipher as opposed to OpenSSL implementation. I can't just change the block size because it breaks compatibility. I can do something like as a hack (though it would probably be better to do it with the compat function): if (strstr(enc->name, "chacha")) *max_blocks = (u_int64_t)1 << (16*2);

RES: Samba 3.0.2a with ADS w2k3 Active Directory, enctype s
Hi Jim, I did what the doc says but the problem is the same. Does anybody saw this work ? I mean, is the Samba 3.0.2a+Kerberos MIT 1.3.3 able to be accessed by a WXP, W2K or W2K3 machine, using Kerberos tickets generated in a Windows 2003 KDC (W2K3 AD) ?
