Image display in R
Hi all,
I am trying to display a matrix of plots(images), for example a 3*3 matrix
of 9 image plots, such that when a user clicks on a image i can show the
enlarged plot. I tried the multiple graphic device(using mfcol=c(3,3) and
mfg), but it creates multiple plots in a single image file. So, i won't be
able to highlight a particular plot when the user clicks on it.
To be more clear, can i

yay for zfs
This zfs looks great!
I really hope this gets put into solaris soon since I don''t think I could live with Solaris express on a production machine.
The easy of adding disk and moving directories looks like a life saver, especially for me who deals with trying to store digital media which piles up a couple of gig a day!

locator() in a multiple plot setting
Hi
based on some code from Thomas Petzoldt, I have a question:
---
opar <- par(mfrow = c(2,4))
slices <- 8
m <- matrix(runif(100),10,10)
my.list <- list()
for (slice in 1:slices) {
my.list[[slice]] <- m
}
for (slice in 1:slices) {
x <- 1*(1:25)
y <- 1*(1:25)
z <- my.list[[slice]]
image(list(x = 0:9, y = 0:9, z = z))
}
par(opar) #restore device

locator(n=0)
locator(n=1) returns the coordinates of the position of the mouse.
But you have to click the left button of the mouse.
How can I determine the mouse position without any click?
Is it possible to extend locator in a way that
locator(n=0) outputs the coordinates at once, without any click event?
TclTk allows us to define very nice animations and demonstrations,
see for example: demo(tkdensity).

lattice, xyplot, using "panel.segments" by just addressing one panel
Hi R experts,
I'm using the xyplot function in lattice to draw a multipanel plot consiting
of 5x6 scatterplots.
Now I need to link single points in each of those scatterplots (=panel),but
the points, that need linking are different for each panel.
I tried to use the panel.segments function for that, but I can't address
each panel separately. Links right for panel 1, show up in all other

Plots with k-means
Hi,
I'm doing a k-means cluster with 6 clusters and 15 variables. Any
suggestions on how to plot the results?
I've tried the standard xy plot, but couldn't get much of it.
Thansk in advance,
Iuri.

a question about box counting
Hi,
I have a set of x,y data points and each data point lies between (0,0)
and (1,1). Of this set I have selected all those that lie in the lower
triangle (of the plot of these points).
What I would like to do is to divide the region (0,0) to (1,1) into
cells of say, side = 0.01 and then count the number of cells that
contain a point.
My first approach is to generate the coordinates of these

how to apply a self-written function to a data frame
Hello,
I have written a function in order to analyse gaze paths. It works with the test data but when I try to apply the function to a data frame that stores "the real data" in columns I receive the error message that the
" In if (pp > 1) { :
condition has length > 1 only the first element will be used
"
I interpret this error message as saying that only the first

solution of convolution equation
Hello,
May be somebody can help me...
I am trying to find a solution of a convolution equation using fft (and
unfortunately I do not have a good background for this).
So I am just trying to figure out how it can be implemented in R. I have
two multidimensional independent variables X and Z
and I know their densities fx and fz, which are multidimensional arrays.
So I have to find the density of

adding custom axis to image.plot() and strange clipping behavior
Hi list,
I wanted to plot an image with a colorbar to the right of the plot, but set my own axis labels (text rather than numbers) to the image. I have previously accomplished this with two calls to image(), but the package 'fields' has a wrapper function, image.plot(), which does this task conveniently.
However, I could not add axes to the original image after a call to image.plot(); I

[RFC] pvops domain0 Cx/Px info parser patch
Hi, Jeremy
Since now the pv_ops domain0 is approaching, we are considering to port the dom0 power management related code, or more specifically, the Cx/Px ACPI info parsing code, to pv_ops domain0 tree, so that people can utilize Xen power management capability (Cx/PX) under pv_ops domain0. This RFC is a draft version for comments.

Requirement: Xen hypervisor need Cx/Px ACPI

mob(party) formula question
I try tu use mob() with my data.frame ('data.frame': 288 obs. of 81
variables; factors, numerics and ordered factors)
My response is a binary variable and I should use for modelling a logistic
regression (family=binomial).
I read in the "MOB" Vignette that I could use a formula like this if I would
like to have only partitioning variables apart from the response.

hi friends, is there any wait function in R
hi,
is there any wait function in R. I am running one R script to plot
many graphs it is in the for loop. its showing no error but its not
plotting well I think i can solve this problem with a wait function.
Please help me in this regards. If u need any clarification about
programme. u can find the script below.

outer not applying a constant function
Hi,
the function outer can not apply a constant function as in the last line of the following example:
> xg <- 1:4
> yg <- 1:4
> fxyg <- outer(xg, yg, function(x,y) x*y)
> fconstg <- outer(xg, yg, function(x,y) 1.0)
Error in outer(xg, yg, function(x, y) 1) :
dims [product 16] do not match the length of object [1]
Of course there are simpler ways to construct a constant

Combinations
Dear R helpers,
I am working on the scenario analysis pertaining to various interest rates. In this connection I need to form the various combinations as under :
Suppose I have two sets A = (a, b, c) and B = (x,y,z)
Then I can easily form the cominations as
(ax, ay, az, bx, by, bz, cx, cy, cz)
However, if I have say 5 variables, then total no of possible combinations will be 3^5 = 243.

'...' passed to both plot() and legend()
Dear R-devels,
I'd like to create a plot method for a class of objects that passes
the '...' argument to both plot() and legend(), e.g.,
x <- list(data = rnorm(1000))
class(x) <- "foo"
plot.foo <- function(x, legend = FALSE, cx = "topright", cy = NULL,
...){
dx <- sort(x$data)
plot(dx, dnorm(dx), type = "l", ...)
if (legend)
