TRAMO-SEATS confusion?
Dear R People:
When looking at the previous postings regarding TRAMO-SEATS,
I am somewhat puzzled.
Is it true that we CANNOT replicate TRAMO-SEATS because of
licensing or ownership issues, please?
If not, would anyone be interested in an R version of it, please?
Thanks,
Sincerely,

Is there a working XML parser for the windows R Version 2.0.1
Dear all
the regular XML package does not work correctly with the R 2.0.1 windows
version.
Can anybody indicate a suitable alternative ?
I need to dynamically read, parse and process a HTML table in R that is
available at a certain url.

Tramo-seats
Working - among other things- in the field of (short & long term) electricity
forecast, we are now using too many & too expensive pieces of licensed
software: SAS, SPSS, EViews. This "sedimentation" is due to the fact that
my predecessors in the past used different consultant companies to manage
each procedure.
Having attended the useR2004! Conference with the aim of assessing

TRAMO/SEATS and x12 in R
I have a Mac OS X system. To deal with a long monthly electricity demand time-series I use the procedures TRAMO/SEATS with the MS-windows only Demetra programme and X12 under R resorting to the awkward - as far as the output is concerned - x12 R package running the relating Fortran code.
I wonder if someone out there has attempted to translate TRAMO/SEATS and X12 into R native language?

using multiple cpu's - scaling in processing power
Hi All
In the past I have worked with parallel processing in R where a function F
is applied to the elements of a list L. The more cpu cores one has, the
faster the process will run. At the time of launching the process for (F,L)
I will have a certain fixed number of cpu's that I can use. I have tested
this approach and it works fine (i.e. package 'multicore' , using 'mapply'

seasonal adjustment
Are any seasonal adjustment programs, like Tramo/Seats, Census X12 ARIMA or Berliner Verfahren implemented in R? I am doing a simulation study and I don't know how to adjust the series in R.
The possibility to access external the exe.files of the seasonal adjustment programs seems to be quite difficult.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks,

a doubt
Hello all,
I'm working with different models that where implemented in DOS system each one, but for doing comparisons between them I require to put some of the results in an unified data form for all the models. I wonder if some of you have the knowledge of one function in R that enable me the invocation of DOS execution files inside the R application to allow me doing an R interface with

future time stamps warning
Dear developers,
Upon CRAN submission I have bumped into "future file timestamps" warning
that I can't solve. I have updated the package as usual, and all checks go
through in my system. CRAN reports the following warning however.

future time stamps warning
Time stamps are correct and my system time is correct.
I am now tried to use Sys.setFileTime() to update time stamps as proposed.
This does not help.
The windows and debian builds give different reports on the time stamp
issue.

I wonder whether any of the R-packages cover the Hilbert-Huang Transform

methodology question : is anova appropriate for these data?
Representative small sample of data:
algorithmID <- factor(c(rep('alg1',4),rep('alg2',4),rep('alg3',4)))
threshold <- factor(rep(c(.45,.50,.55,.60),times=3))
score <- c(30,32,31,30,10,12,13,14,22,21,20,24)
d <- data.frame(algorithmID,threshold,score)
AlgorithmID is the name of each algorithm; threshold is the value of a parameter used by the algorithm that

What kind of call center: inbound, outbound or both?
how many lines per agent will you have?
what kind of trunks will you be using?
do you need to tie into an existing database?
do you want screen-pops?
