Question about building library and BLAS
Dear helpers, I am trying to create a library which uses some Fortran source files and Lapack and Blas subroutines. The Fortran source files from the original author contain subroutines isamax.f, sgefa.f and sgesl.f, which are part of BLAS subroutines on my Linux computer, but maybe different (old) versions. So in addition to these subroutines, there are other Lapack and Blas subroutines

Any R function for self-controlled case series method /effect absorption?
Hello, Has anyone written R functions for applying self-controlled case series methods (http://statistics.open.ac.uk/sccs/). In fact only thing needed is to modify glm function to allow absorption of effect. Eg. in Poisson model individual effect is used as factor, but it is considered as nuisance term where parameter estimates are not needed. Could anyone point how absorbing individual

How to change Rlapack by lapack (for rpy2 installation)?
(I asked an earlier question on the rpy2 installation to the rpy2 list, the solution there was to edit the setup.py script, but this looks beyond what I can do unless someone tells me exactly what to modify). I have R 2.8.1 on 2 machines running ubuntu 8.04 (packages R-base and R-base-dev, among others, installed using Synaptic) and while the installation of rpy2 went fine on machine1, failed on

Compiling R-2.11.0 with ATLAS-tuned BLAS and LAPACK
Hello. I am a Linux neophyte and know almost nothing ?about compiling, so I would appreciate any help and advice y'all would care to offer. I am trying to compile the 64 bit version of R using a tuned ATLAS and LAPACK (ATLAS 3.9.24). I am running Ubunto 10.04 LTS (through wubi, FWIW). The ATLAS and LAPACK files (atlas.so, f77blas.so, lapack.so, and cblas.so) are sitting in the folder

Building package on Windows: No rule to make target '-llapack'
Dear all, I have a problem to build a package on Windows XP while there is no problem on Linux. The Makefile is something like: ########### LIBNAME=cts PKG_LIBS = $(LAPACK_LIBS) $(BLAS_LIBS) $(FLIBS) OBJS=file1.o ... file20.o -llapack -lblas $(LIBNAME)$(SHLIB_EXT): $(OBJS) $(SHLIB_LD) $(SHLIB_LDFLAGS) -o $@ $(OBJS) $(FLIBS) clean: @rm -f *.o *.$(SHLIB_EXT) realclean: clean

Difference in the BLAS_LIBS definition on Ubuntu packages
A while back I posted to this group that I was having difficulty compiling packages that used BLAS and Lapack on an Ubuntu 32-bit system. I looked a little further into the issue and discovered that the /usr/lib/R/etc/Makeconf files are different on the 32-bit and 64-bit Ubuntu packages maverick/r-base-core_2.12.1-1maverick0_i386.deb and the corresponding 64-bit version. The Make variable

configure can't find dgemm in MKL10
Hi, I'm trying to follow the R-admin instructions for using MKL10 as the external BLAS compiling R-2.6.2 under Linux on a RH EL head node of a cluster. The configure process seems to have problems when it checks for dgemm in the BLAS. I'm using configure as: ./configure CC=icc F77=ifort --with-lapack="$MKL" --with-blas="$MKL" where $MKL is defined as in R-admin

R in ConTeXt
In case there are users of the TeX macro package ConTeXt on this list, they may be interested to know that it is now possible to include R code in a ConTeXt document and have the code evaluated while compiling. The inverse of Sweave, as it were. The advantage is that there is then only one file to keep track of (.tex vs .rnw and .tex), while a drawback is speed, since each code snippet is

Two factor (or more) non-parametric comparison of means
Can anyone suggest a good non-parametric test, and an R implementation of the test, that allows for two or more factors? Wilcoxon signed rank allows for only one. Problem building R with Intel MKL v10 BLAS
NO Hi. I'm not sure if this is an R-help or R-devel problem, so I'm starting here in the hope that someone can help (and willing to go to the other list if it's more appropriate). I think I am following all of the instructions in the various manuals, but clearly I am missing something. I have an Intel EM64T Dell with 2 dual-core Xeon processors running Red Hat EL5. I would

alpha, portable use
When I build one of my packages with alpha from yesterday I am getting * checking for portable use of $BLAS_LIBS ... WARNING apparently missing $(FLIBS) in 'PKG_LIBS=$(LAPACK_LIBS) $(BLAS_LIBS)' Is this something I should worry about? (Possibly I got this before and didn't notice.) ubuntu problem with 'r-cran-robustbase' [FWD Agustin Lobo]
Agustin, posted on R-help. I think the problem is one of the debian/ubuntu package 'r-cran-robustbase' and its setup or (missing?) dependencies. I can confirm Agustin's problem, working on Ubuntu 8.04.2 (8.04 is a "LTS" = long time support version). apt-get install r-cran-robustbase works fine, but when trying to load the package, there's a DLL - dependency on

Compilation errors when installing gee
Hi, I am trying to install gee on our server but I get the error below. I do not have root on this machine so no control on how R was installed itself. It looks like it cannot find blas libs, the only ones i can find on the machine are: /usr/lib64/libblas.so.3 -> libblas.so.3.0.3 /usr/lib64/libblas.so.3.0 -> libblas.so.3.0.3 /usr/lib64/libblas.so.3.0.3 and : $ R CMD config BLAS_LIBS

Installing package fails at "testing if installed package can be loaded from temporary location"
Dirk, thank you a thousand times. Indeed, src/Makevars was wrong. I modified Makevars so that now looks like the below and the package now compiled and linked properly. CXX_STD = CXX11 PKG_LIBS += $(SHLIB_OPENMP_CXXFLAGS) $(LAPACK_LIBS) $(BLAS_LIBS) $(FLIBS) $(shell ${R_HOME}/bin/Rscript -e "RcppParallel::RcppParallelLibs()") PKG_CXXFLAGS = $(SHLIB_OPENMP_CXXFLAGS) -I../inst/include

LAPACK and BLAS libraries
Hi, I don't know if I'm sending this to the right place but I've looked throught tens and tens of topics on http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/ and finally found that email address where I can maybe find some help. Well my main goal is to get to use the lapack library within my R package (which can be done using calls from C). But in order to do this I have to create a file src/Makevars

LAPACK Headers
Hey Everyone, I'm running R 2.4.0 on Debian etch 4.0, and I'm trying to call some LAPACK functions from the C code in my package. Actually, to be honest I'm not really having trouble using commands such as La_dgesv from within my C code, but I do get warning when compiling the package saying: ***.c: In function '***': ***.c:37: warning: implicit declaration of function
