loops in R help me please
I am trying to make the following Kalman filter equations work and therefore produce their graphs.
v_t=y_t - a_t
a_t+1=a_t+K_t*v_t
F_t=P_t+sigma.squared.epsilon
P_t+1=P_t*(1-K_t)+sigma.squared.eta
K_t=P_t/F_t
Given:
a_1=0,P_1=10^7,sigma.squared.epsilon=15099,
sigma.squared.eta=1469.1
I have attached my code,which of course doesnt work.It produces NAs for the Fs,Ks and the a.
Can somebody tell me

I read your message about using the Loki Linux Unreal Tournament engine
to play Unreal. I have the original Unreal Windows version CD and would
like to play it on Linux but can't get the Loki version to recognize the
CD. Can you tell me which files to download from Loki and how to install
them?
Thanks,

xyplots
Hi All,
I have a four panel xyplot. I wish to plot each point as an open or
filled circle depending on the value of an indicator variable.
I assume I need to use panel.superpose(), but I can't figure out the
syntax from lattice documentation.
Running R 2.1 under Mac OS X 10.4.2.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

simulation
Dear R users,
suppose we have a random walk such as:
v_t+1 = v_t + e_t+1
where e_t is a normal IID noise pocess with mean = m and standard deviation = sd and v_t is the fundamental value of a stock.
Now suppose I want a trading strategy to be:
x_t+1 = c(v_t – p_t)
where c is a costant.
I know, from the paper where this equations come from (Farmer and Joshi, The price dynamics of common

LLVM Social in Salt Lake City, UT (Nov. 14th)?
Hi everyone,
On Monday, November 14, 2016 the LLVM in HPC workshop will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah (in conjunction with the SC16 conference). For last year's workshop, which was in Austin, we held an LLVM social the evening of the workshop, and I think that turned out really well. If you'll be in Salt Lake City and are interested in attending an LLVM social on the evening of November

Wifi UT Starcom F1000: Raising Audio volume Level via asterisk?
Hi all,
I' m currently testing a Wifi UT Starcom F1000 and for my taste
even with the audio volume level even on max. setting,
the speaker is not loud enogh.
Is there a way to raise the audio-level
specifically for a concrete SIP device via a sip.conf setting or something
like that ??

dlm package: how to specify state space model?
Dear r-users!
I have another question regarding the dlm package and I would be very
happy if someone could give me a hint!
I am using the dlm package to get estimates for an endogenous rate of
capacity utilization over time. The general form of a state space model
is
(1) b_t = G * b_t-1 + w_t w_t ~ N(0,W)
(2) y_t= A' * x_t + H' * b_t + v_t v_t ~ N(0,V)

Hi Vasek,
I'm moving the thread to -upsdev, since it has not to be private...
please note that revisions 3771 and 3772 conclude nut_clock_*

interestingly enough, we were talking about that 5 mn ago with Emilien ;)
my conclusion was that nut_clock devs were completed with 3772, and

Assigning values to several consecutives rows in a sequence while leaving some empty
Hello all,
I'm trying to group several consecutives rows (and assigning them the same
value) while leaving some of the rows empty (when a certain condition is not
fulfilled).
My data are locations (xy coordinates), the date/time at which they were
measured, and the time span between measures. Somehow simplified, they look
like this:

enty-wise closest element
Dear R-users,
i have a simple problem maybe, but i don't see the solution. i want to
find the entry-wise closest element of an vector compared with another.
ind1<-c(1,4,10)
ind2<-c(3,5,11)
for (i in length(ind2):1)
{
print(which.min(abs(ind1-ind2[i])))
}
for ind2[3] it should be ind1[3] 10, for ind2[2] it should be ind1[2] 4
and for ind2[1] it should be ind1[1] 1. but with the

strange behaviour of negative binomial
Dear list,
I ran into a strange behaviour of the pnbinom function - or maybe I
just made a stupid mistake.
First thing is that pnbinom seems to be very slow. The other - more
interesting one - is that I get two different curves when I plot the
estimated density and the density given by pnbinom. Shouldn't it be the
same?
This is only the case, I think, if I use the parameter size = 1. I

I would like to do sequential subtractions within a group so that I know the

Accumulating results from "for" loop in a list/array
Dear R users,
I would like to accumulate objects generated from 'for' loop to a list or
array.
To illustrate the problem, arbitrary data set and script is shown below,
x <- data.frame(a = c(rep("n",3),rep("y",2),rep("n",3),rep("y",2)), b =
c(rep("y",2),rep("n",4),rep("y",3),"n"), c =

Get the difference between two matrices with different length
Hello,
I have got two matrices with different length. The matrices have 3
columuns. The first two are coordinates. The third is a measurement.
Now I want to get a subtraction between every single value of the
third column (between matrix1 and matrix2), but only if the two
first coordinates in matrix1 and matrix2 are the same.
I tried "FUN=?" in aggregate and ave, but I don't know

frequency table?
Hello R-users,
I've got a file with individuals as colums and the clusters where they occur
in as rows. And I wanted a table which tells me how many times each
individual occurs with another. I don't really know how such a table is
called...it is not a frequency table....My eventual goal is to make
Venn-diagrams from the occurence of my individuals.
So I've this:

SSPIR problem
I am having a problem with the package SSPIR. The code below
illustrates it. I keep getting the message: "Error in y - f :
non-conformable arrays."
I tried to tweak the code below in many different ways, for example,
substituting rbind for cbind, and sometimes I get a different error
message, but I could not find a variation of this code that would
work.
