Excessive files in a single folder.
I've got a Linux server with over 1.5 Million files in a single directory, which as you will probably agree is not a good idea. My problem is that the management refuses to accept that it's a bad idea to have that many files in a single directory. To make the problem worse, the folder in question is exported via Samba and NFS! Has anyone come across any references/documents that I could

named ( bind 9.9.4 ) fails to start
Thanks Rowland, You saved me from a world of pain, I've now got named back up and running and also accessible via windows DNS GUI. the SOA record still says ns=dc03.. which is strange and the only place dc03 exists in the ouput of samba-tool dns query localhost mydomain.com @ ALL Is this something I can fix in the windows DNS GUI or do I need to do something with like FSMO ? Which btw

named ( bind 9.9.4 ) fails to start
Hi Rowland thanks for your response. I'm running samba 4.5.0rc1 on CentOS 7.2 I've dumped the DNS records, and it doesn't appear to have any SRV or NS records. Also the SOA record is pointing at the wrong server dc03 instead of dc01. I'm pretty sure it can be fixed, but I don't know how or what to do On 27 September 2016 at 07:59, Rowland Penny via samba < samba at

asterisk with an external predictive dialer
Does anyone have any experience using asterisk with an external predicitve dialer, like MediaTel? Specifically: The predictive dialer dials out over T1 circuits. It connects to asterisk via amphenol cable from an fxs card in the dialer to asterisk with a tdm2406 fxo card. In the analog world, the dialer dials out through the t1 circuit, and the fxs card is plugged into a 66 block so the

possible memory leak in 1.6 (PR#2160)
Full_Name: Anne-Laure Boulesteix Version: 1.6.0 OS: Linux Submission from: (NULL) (141.84.161.156) Hi, I noticed the following problem with 1.6.0 (which was not present in 1.5.1): I work with very large datasets and encountered a problem with memory allocation, (probably a memory leak). I wrote a programm with a loop. In this loop in each iteration I create a very large matrix and assign

Additional DC
I'm having a bit of trouble joining / starting an additional DC. OS: CentOS 7,2 Samba: 4.5.0 I've run through the steps on the wiki page: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Join_an_additional_Samba_DC_to_an_existing_Active_Directory I did have to manually add the DNS entries. When I start samba I see the following errors in /var/log/messages:

Push changes to clients
I was wondering how to configure the puppet clients to only listen, not to periodically pull configs down from the puppetmaster. I''d rather push the configs out from the puppetmaster with puppetrun... At a guess I need to set runinterval to 0 in /etc/puppet/puppet.conf? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. To post

Hi, I removed a couple of dead DC's from my domain using this command: samba-tool domain demote --remove-other-dead-server=<dc name> I then restarted named on the remaining server, but it failed to start with the following errors in messages: named[30255]: samba_dlz: configured writeable zone 'x.x.x.in-addr.arpa' named[30255]: samba_dlz: configured writeable zone

R help-classification accuracy of DFA and RF using caret
Hi, I am a graduate student applying published R scripts to compare the classification accuracy of 2 predictive models, one built using discriminant function analysis and one using random forests (webpage link for these scripts is provided below). The purpose of these models is to predict the biotic integrity of streams. Specifically, I am trying to compare the classification accuracy (i.e.,

classification accuracy in logistic regression
Hi all, I'm looking for a program that will take the predicted probabilities from a logistic regression using glm{stats}, dichotomize them according to a threshold that I can control, and then use them to form sensitivity, specificity, false pos and false neg rates. Thanks in advance. David -- ======================================================================= David Kaplan, Ph.D.

Additional DC
Something probely in your basic server setup is incorrect. I suggest you check the following: Time in sync ( on both DC's ) Hosts file ( problem DC ) Resolv.conf ( problem DC ) Krb5.conf ( problem DC ) Bind config ( if you use it ) ( problem DC ) Rights on the bind files in the samba private folder. I suggest als you check in this order. You found the wiki, howto check is on the
