FileNotFoundException en RWeka
Saludos colegas.

[LLVMdev] llvm backend tutorial
Hi Jonathan, After reading/skimming through the official LLVM backend documents, I actually tried following your steps to write a new backend, but how to write td files still remains unclear. The details are not well explained, though I know most of them can be found in other documents or have already been documented somewhere in the LLVM source code or td files. For a beginner with no

asign variables in a "for" loop
Dear R-helpers, I'm stuck with a little problem that surely has an easy solution but I can't think of a way to solve it. I'd really appreciate any help you can offer me! I'll provide a small example. Given a dataframe data.txt that looks like this: ID freq Var Var_mean Ratio_mean Var_median Ratio_median Var_sum Ratio_min Var_max Ratio_max Var_min

How to get prediction for a variable in WinBUGS?
Dear all,I am a new user of WinBUGS and need your help. After running the following code, I got parameters of beta0 through beta4 (stats, density), but I don't know how to get the prediction of the last value of h, the variable I set to NA and want to model it using the following code.Does anyone can given me a hint? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Best

Port forwarding feature suggestion: bind to port 0
Hi, Sometimes it's desirable to bind a port forward to port 0: especially when scripting port forwarding, and more especially so with the '-f -N' options. The version of OpenSSH bundled with OSX (4.7p1) accepts '-L 0:192.168.1.1:22', but only if ran as root (I guess this was more an accident than a feature). I saw that the current version (5.1p1) will decline such an options,

Dear R Can you tell me how to change the working directory of R It's just that I have some text files that I wish to save separately from the R filing structure eg. into C:/my documents and need to change the working directory of R so that it reads these files . This means if I ever upgrade the current version of R nothing will be effected. brett Brett Stansfield Environmental Scientist -

Chi Square Test on two groups of variables
Dear R help I have been trying to conduct a chi square test on two groups of variables to test whether there is any relationship between the two sets of variables chisq.test(oxygen, train) Pearson's Chi-squared test data: oxygen X-squared = 26.6576, df = 128, p-value = 1 > chisq.test(oxygen) Pearson's Chi-squared test data: oxygen X-squared = 26.6576, df = 128,

clipping off words inside a vector of strings
Hi, I have a vector of strings (class character) with 6 elements (length 6). I call it 'names'. "Graham Chapman" "John Cleese" "Terry Gilliam" "Eric Idle" "Terry Jones" "Michael Palin" And I want to turn it into another vector of strings called 'shortnames' with the same length. The new vector should look like:

joining files after canonical correlation
Dear R, I recently did a canonical correlation analysis on two subsets of data (location and weather). So I now have canonical scores for location and weather. but I'd now like to do a scatterplot matrix using the pairs statement. Is there a way to somehow join location.U and weather.V to become a new data set from which I could undertake a scatterplot matrix of the canonical variates?

font sizes for row.names of dendograms
Dear R I recently performed a cluster analysis. It produced the dendogram no problem but unfortunately the font size of the row.names were all cluttered due to their large size So I tried to change the font size using plclust(cluster.results, labels=iris$specie, cex=0.8) and R came back to me saying Error in plclust(cluster.results, labels = iris$specie, cex = 0.8) : unused argument(s)

From NUM to INT
Ok. I`m trying to run a Poisson glmm with an observation-level random intercept. But I`m getting the following error for the 'Baci' variable: 'Error: (maxstephalfit) PIRLS step-halvings failed to reduce deviance in pwrssUpdate'. I guess this message is because the baci variable is not a an integer, and cannot be transformed into an integer as R has a threshold of 2x10^9 even in

aftreg vs survreg loglogistic aft model (different intercept term)
Hi, I'm estimating a loglogistic aft (accelerated failure time) model, just a simple plain vanilla one (without time dependent covariates), I'm comparing the results that I obtain between aftreg (eha package) and survreg(surv package). If I don't use any covariate the results are identical , if I add covariates all the coefficients are the same until a precision of 10^4 or 10^-5 except

can you recommend a good manual for R that starts with a data set and gives demonstrations on what can be done using R? I downloadedR Langauage definition and An introduction to R but haven't found them overly useful. I'd really like to be able to follow some tutorials using a dataset or many datasets. The datasets I have available on R are Data sets in package 'datasets':

Subject [applying labels to a scatter plot matrix]
Dear R Is there a way to apply row names as labels to a scatter plot matrix , I tried pairs(dogs, labels=row.names) Error in strwidth(labels, "user") : cannot coerce type closure to character vector I'm not sure what this means, however maybe you might know of a way to do this? brett stansfield

Incomplete backups with tar option of smbclient.
We use the tar option of smbclient (Samba 1.9.16p9, SunOS 4.1.3) to backup Windows 95 PCs: smbclient "\\${server}\backup" -U COMPUTING -d 1 -D "\" -Tc tarfile >! logfile backup is set as a share of c:\ The backups are incomplete (as shown by the logfile and gzip -tf tarfile). Typically, only very roughly 5700 of 6600 files get copied. I expect I've got a bad
