undefined symbol in grDevices.so
Hello
I'm trying to use rpy with latest R (2.2.0), but unfortunately it
seems there is some kind of undefined symbol in grDevices.so
(utf8locale)
Within python, this message appears:
>>> import rpy
Error in dyn.load(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now)) :

Hanging -- please help decipher event report
I'm running some code in R64 on a Mac OS 10.6.8 that calls a C program
through the dyn.load() function. The code hangs after several days of
computation, and I've having trouble locating the problem. Can anyone
decipher this info from the error report, and tell me if this is a problem
in R64, or in the C code? Thanks very much in advance.
A few hints: "pa" is the name of the C

Hi. I'm not having any luck installing the binary for the new
Macintosh OS called "Tiger".
I get error messages as below.
Can anyone offer me some advice? (PS: I checked the bug list first
but a search on "Tiger" turned up nothing so I hope it's OK to post
here.)

r version 2.1.0 and graphics in mac os 10.3.9
I use mac os 10.3.9 and I've installed in my computer R 2.1.0 (I
believe this is the latest R version).
Although it works alright when I open R by clicking in the R icon, I
cannot use the graphics facility when I open R from a X-terminal window
(or x-11 window).
In fact, when I try to open R I get the message that I pasted below.
Is this a R bug?

R-2.01 and RSPerl-0.6.2
Hi,
I am somewhat new to R and RSPerl, but I think this particular problem
has to do with RSPerl and so I am not sure if this is the right forum
to ask for help. Nevertheless I am quite sure that many of you would
have used RSPerl with R.
My hardware platform is a Sun/Solaris V440 server running Solaris 9
operating system I use the gcc-3.4.0 compiler to compile R without any
problems. My

R-1.8.0 + IBM VisualAge/C for AIX compiler
A while ago I compiled R 1.7.0 for AIX (with the above compiler - I'll
call it xlc) and I was surprised that it went quite smoothly.
Unfortunately with R 1.8.0 it's not as easy, but I succeeded at least
partially. Static R works fine (after some tweaking), but
--enable-R-shlib fails resp. produces a buggy R. Following are the
problems I encountered (in a warning-to-fatal-error

KernSmooth not loading in R 2.7.2
I just upgraded to R 2.7.2 (from 2.7.1) this morning (Ubuntu amd64
platform). Shortly afterwards, I ran into a problem loading the odesolve
library, it could not find libRblas.so. I was able to fix this by
rebuilding odesolve. Now, KernSmooth gives me the same problem...

Any workaround for CRAN Mac OS X compiler switch to R 2.10.0?
Hello,
Has the CRAN compiler for Mac OS X switched to using R 2.10? I
recently uploaded an update for the package I maintain to CRAN, and
it's no longer possible to run the package after installing CRAN
binaries for this package under Mac OS X 10.5 and R 2.9.1.
The package is picante 0.7-1. It passes all checks on CRAN cleanly.
Under R 2.9.1 on Mac OS X 10.5, the package can be

Rstudio R-devel libR.so
Dear All,
I am actually on R-devel using shell consol. When I run RStudio, it can't
find libR.so in the new /lib folder where is libRblas.so libRlapack.so.
At first step I configure R-devel to share library with ./configure
--enable-R-shlib.
when I copied libR.so from /usr/lib/R/lib/libR.so (stable version R 3.1)
to /usr/local/R-devel/lib/libR.so (R-devel version), That doesn't work.

Trouble compiling igraph. . .
Been and R-user for about 5 years now in an industrial setting, and
always find the mailing list most helpful. I have run into problem
compiling igraph on R. I have contacted the maintainer of igraph, and
he has determined that it is not an igraph problem.
System is FreeBSD 7.2, R-2.10.1 [also have a sandbox machine running
FreeBSD 7.3, R-2.11]. Both machines fail the installation of igraph.

Hi all.
I'm not sure I should send this here, but the link to the Italian
Traslation Team is dead here:

I've found an annoying mistake in the italian traslation of a base
