lags and differences
Dear all, could someone please clarify me if this works, so as to implement lags and differences for example in y and in a independent x1 of a regression? model<-lm((diff(y), -i)~x1+lag(x1,-1), data=anydata) Thanks, a lot, Alexandre. ---------- In??cio da mensagem original ----------- De: r-help-bounces at stat.math.ethz.ch Para: r-help at stat.math.ethz.ch Cc:

Troubles with voicemail and cisco 7905 SIP
I'm deploying a fairly large number of Cisco 7905 with SIP connected to an asterisk PBX. The problem: the 7905 has this nice "feature": You can set a "voice mail number" in configuration, so that you can listen your voice mail just by hitting the "messages" key on the phone. It just autodials "8500" or whatever else. The customer wants this, so

Could someone please tell me if it is a way to define the number of decimals (for example 4 digits) in a presentation of anova() results. I couldn't apply round ()function. Thanks in advance. nls convergence problem
I'm having problems getting nls to agree that convergence has occurred in a toy problem. nls.out never gets defined when there is an error in nls. Reaching the maximum number of iterations is alway an error, so nls.out never gets defined when the maximum number of iterations is reched. >From ?nls.control: tol: A positive numeric value specifying the tolerance level for the

unpredictable behaviour
I see very odd results from rsync 2.4.7pre1, the latest cvs version (sept 12, i think was the last modified file). We have a number of network-attached storage devices. 10/100 ethernet, nfs2 mounted (under nfs3, they buffer deletes, and recursive deletions fail). Usually, these are kept syncronized across a wan by a nightly cronjob, We have a few we keep in reserve, which we syncronize

Default Format for Dates?
Is there anyway to preset date formats? I have a date from a cover.dbf that is shown as this: > cover$FINALREPOR [1] "2003-06-24" The numeric value in cover$FINALREPOR is 12227. I'd rather not create another vector to hold the properly formatted date. When I put this in a WordPerfect merge, I want the date to be June 24, 2003. I could take care of the problem in a

receiving nil exception in rake tests
I''ve been doing some really simple rails testing, going along with standard "red light... green light..." back-and-forth-ing. All of a sudden, rake was reporting that there were "Test failures" but not showing any stack trace. I went into /usr/local/ruby/.../rails/lib/tasks/testing.rake and looked at the source that ran the tests. I found these lines: --- desc
