Saving 3d objects vs. pausing in non-interactive (scripted) mode
I am using the RGL library in scripted (non-interactive) mode, but wish to
give the data analyst an opportunity to exam the 3D plots. The "data
analysts" understand the data, but not R. My intent is to provide simple
Windows (XP) batch files that call R and automatically pass scripts to it,
and thus permit the analyst to easily access graphics without having to cut
and paste commands

How can I avoid the warning messages when calling DAAG package?
Dear R users,
I'm a newbie for R and want to ask some basic questions.
So, after I open the R software, I typed library(DAAG). Then, I get massive
warning messages as shown below.
Why does it happen?
Also, here are few specific questions regarding each message.
1) Loading required package: MASS -> Does this mean that the MASS package
is not included in DAAG?
2) Attaching package:

Why is bubbles() creating empty png graphs?
This code below produces empty XXX.png files - if I use plot(), it works
and if I enter the commands
png(filename=fn)
bubble(positions, do.sqrt=FALSE, main=q)
dev.off()
manually, it works as well.
I am lost - any help appreciated.
The weird thing is that it worked before I made some changes... (I don't
have a copy of the working version...).

Pause the execution of a function
Dear all,
I am trying to write a script to pause the execution of a function and
provide some additional commands to the function and then continue execution
of the function. For example, when my function detects a wrong number in a
dataset, the function pauses automatically and returns information on the
screen:
?There is a wrong number in the dataset. Would you like to correct it? ?

pause/get input
Hi,
Is there a simple command to pause a script until the user hits
return? Alternatively, is there a command which prompts the user for some
input and assigns the input into a variable?

How to write a loop in R to select multiple regression model and validate it ?
I would like to run a loop in R. I have never done this before, so I would be
very grateful for your help !
1. I have a sample set: 25 objects. I would like to draw 1 object from it
and use it as a test set for my future external validation. The remaining 24
objects I would like to use as a training set (to select a model). I would
like to repeat this process until all 25 objects are used as a

pause / unpausequeuemember
Hi,
I wanted to use the same extensions for Pausing and UnPausing queue members.
Is that a variable that is set up with the agent status (on call, available, not logged, paused) so that I could use it to make some logic in this extension?
exten => 111,1,Set(AGENTEPARADESLOGAR=${$[AGENTBYCALLERID_${CALLERIDNUM}]})
exten => 111,2,PauseQueueMember(|Agent/${AGENTEPARADESLOGAR})

Failure to get compactPDF to compact a pdf file
I am failing to get compactPDF to make any change to a pdf file
that, a/c to the message from the CRAN upload site, can be very
substantially compacted. Any ideas what may be wrong?
I have also tried recreating the pdf file. I also tried
R CMD build --resave-data --compact-vignettes DAAG
The data files compact alright (but I get the 'significantly better compression'

Pausing script to allow user input from keyboard.
Hi all,
I have written a simple R script to help me analyze a large data set.
I would like to have the script pause to allow the user to input a
character string that is subsequently used as a filename when saving
tables. I have tried to use the "readline" command - this seems to
work fine when entering commands one by one, but when I copy and paste
the entire script into R,

subsetting data set dimenion problem

I'm a new user of R, and I'm following the DAAG text. I want to create a

pause during execution
I am trying to figure out how to pause the execution of a script and
release the R command prompt to users and then continue execution of the
script from the point it was stopped. This operation is analogous to
the "pause" command in stata.
If I remember correctly, insertion of a pause command in a stata script
stopped script execution and allows users to manipulate objects that

pause in function execution
I would like to have a function which gets data, does a calculation
and prints a result and then waits some number of seconds and
repeats. If I use Sys.sleep, the execution is pausing but the
function output is buffered so that it all comes out when the function
terminates. How can I get output while the function continues to
execute?

Suggest patch for princomp.formula and prcomp.formula
Dear all,
perhaps I am using princomp.formula and prcomp.formula in a way that
is not documented to work, but then the documentation just says:
formula: a formula with no response variable.
Thus, to avoid a lot of typing, it would be nice if one could use '.'
and '-' in the formula, e.g.
> library(DAAG)
> res <- prcomp(~ . - case - site - Pop - sex, possum)

Samba seems to pause for a long time and do nothing
Hi,
I have a problem with Samba (although it may be my hardware, I'm not sure).
I have a Linux i386 Samba server that I use for storing music, pictures
etc in a small home network which isn't that busy. When I stream music
to my laptop I get periods of silence which coincide with periods of
network inactivity. These can last up to 50 seconds and can be seen on
both the Linux and PC

How to overlap two density plots?
Hi,
How can I overlap two density plots?
A <- c(8,10,10,11,11,11,12,12,12,12,11,11,11,10,10,7)
B <- c(11,13,13,14,14,14,15,15,15,15,14,14,14,13,13,10)
plot(density(A))
plot(density(B))
Regards,
Emre
P.S. There's a overlap.density function in package DAAG
Is there another way to do this?
