Bookmarklet for searching R documentation
I recently posted a request for a Mozilla search engine plugin for the R java search applet. Having recieved no response, I pursued this myself and came up with an alternative. I found a "bookmarklet" that was used to submit searches to Amazon. I modified the code to submit searches to the R search engine. I tested the following using Firefox 0.9 on Windows 2000. Create a

Requested consideration: true, true, true in SearchObject.html
I've just posted an email to R-help with instructions on creating a Firefox keyword search of the R documentation: https://www.stat.math.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-help/2004-November/059272.html The method involves bookmarking the RHOME/doc/html/search/SearchObject.html file. Currently this page is set up to only search help page titles: line = line + document.SearchEngine.search

PR#1132.
Just now I again had occasion to want nested describe lists in a documentation file. I found that the bug which I reported on 18 October, 2001 still persists. I checked on the bug report at the R web page, and found that the notes say ``Not a problem in R 1.4.0 (2001-12-08)''. Well, it's still a problem for me --- using R 1.4.1. problem building an R package under Windows XP with calls to NAG C routines
Hello all, I was able to create R packages under windows XP in the past using the dynamic NAG C library for windows XP (Mark 6). Recently, I changed computers and I am now using the static NAG C library for windows XP (Mark 7) to create a simple R package (called "test") which simply returns random numbers simulated using repetitive calls to a NAG C routine (uniform random

Making a Package
Hello. I have what I know to be a simple question, but never having done anything like this it is pretty tough. I'm trying to write an R package. I have a collection of functions that I loaded into R and then used package.skeleton(). After editing everything in the resulting folder, call it NewPackage, I tried to follow along with some instructions I found for Windows users. I installed

writing a simple package in R 2.0 under Windows XP
Dear listers, I have developped a set of functions that I would like to package on a Windows XP plateform for some friends (this would be more simple than to deliver them as a source text file without handy help). I am working under Windows XP. Of course I have gone through the manual "Writing R extension" and try to sort out what a most simple "packaging" for beginner

User package - Simple Ports
R experts, I created a package X for R 1.8 that I want to re-install for 2.0.1. In addition to downloading/installing Perl and Rtools as directed in the README.packages file and ensuring that they appear in my path, I have modified X's DESCRIPTION file to include all required fields. Additionally I have deleted the "built" line since the make process will add that. The source

Bug#123084: r-base: R documentatio search engine unusable with Mozilla 6 (OK with netscape 4.7x) (PR#1202)
As there is nothing Debian-specific in this bug report (and the .deb of the JVW is not from Debian either), I am forwarding this to R-bugs. My recollection from recent discussions on the R mailing list is that currently /no/ browser other than Netscape supports the Java search engine -- is that correct or was there some Netscape derivative (galeon?) which does? Maybe the documentation should be

Hi, I have a package of my own which seems to work fine under linux. I want to make a compiled version for windows. Building a package under WIN2000 / rw2.0
I have an odd problem in building a package with only R-code in it. I have a package mainly used by myself which I last build under R 1.9.0.
