Negative Quartile
Hello, I have a doubt, but it is more statistic than just about R: How the people deal usually with negative percentile and quartile? In my concrete case, I want to know the distribution of an error, so the nearest it is to 0 the better (I think it would be optimun to have the nearest values to 0 in the lower percentiles). The best result would be making the percentile of the absolute value

Decoder and discarded frames..., system hangs
Do i always need to tell the decoder that some packets has been lost? I noticed that if i discard packets without passing NULL and advising the decoder, sometimes my system hangs and i need to reset my PDA. Since the decoder is mantaining a state, i suppose i always need to tell it a packet has been discarded through a sequence number check. Or can i just pass to speex_decode_int whatever i

Asterisk 11 and stdexten written in AEL invoked by pbx_config
Almost two years ago, a change between how AEL code is built into Asterisk dialplan between minor versions made clear the need to provide a sane entry point into AEL subroutines and that's how AELSub() born. With Asterisk 11 release, they way [stdexten] at extensions.conf is invoked changed from Macro to Gosub using the 'missing context feature' and this caused that any stdexten

Calling R_PreserveObject from embedded R
Hello. This is my first post to the list, so first I'd like to thank everybody for making and mantaining such a great product as R. I'm writting a native binding to R from Dolphin Smalltalk. I've followed up the examples of the documentation showing how to run R embedded, and I got it partially working. However, I have a problem with the reference handling of the R objects.

nmbd hangs up after a few hours, kill -9 needed
Hi I?ve been seeing this issue since we updated from Samba 2.X to 3.Y, and I wanted to know if anyone has seen this: I have a samba PDC mantaining a domain composed of WinXP, Win200 and win98 machines with shared folders and user authentication (smbpasswd). It works fine for hours but then everybody stops being able to logon. When anyone tries to login in a WinXP machine, it only replies

tktoplevel & tkgetSaveFile options
Dear list, Previously I posted these question to R-SIG-GUI. Perhaps here is a better place. 1. Is there some option for mantaining the tktoplevel window always on top? 2. Is there some option to eliminate the border icons maximize, minimize and close of a tktoplevel window? 3. Is possible to avoid the warning message (or changing its contents) in tkgetSaveFile when the file to save already

SAMBA - Access control to printer sharings
Hi you all! I am mantaining a few printer severs using Samba 2.2.8 on a WinNT domain. I've got some disk sharings controlled by 'read list' and 'write list', limiting some groups. It worked just fine. But now I need to get only one group printing on a printer sharing and everybody else must be rejected. As I said, people are logging in a WinNT Server. So that's the main

Request for a new feature
Hello rsync list subscribers! I posted the message I'm resending below some time ago to mbp. I didn't get any response. A couple of days ago, I found it in this list using Google. I also could read a response there about using zlibc. I think zlibc does not do what I want. 1st. it is a readonly system. 2nd. it does not deals with links very well. rsync is very appropriate to copy a whole

Decoder and discarded frames..., system hangs
You need to let the know packets are missing so it can generate something meaningful instead. Otherwise, you'll also have less packets to play, which means "something" has to be inserted (zeros, clicks, the content of the kernel memory, ...) instead. As for crashing, it shouldn't happen and I wouldn't be surprised if it had more to do with a soundcard underrun occuring from

Migrating a Samba PDC
Hi. I have to migrate a Samba PDC frome one server to another new server. The two servers have the same distribution (Debian stable) and the same Samba version (3.0.24). I wish to make the migration completely transparent for the client, mantaining all the users, all the groups, all the Windows/Linux groups mapping and all other things. What I have to do other than copying the /etc/samba and

Power Over Ethernet for *any* ethernet switch(or hub); product idea
PoE, or 802.3af, uses a device detection routine to determine if the connected device needs power. The process, in greatly simplified terms, is as follows: 1. Detect link state 2. Send a pulse of a known frequency and intensity over the TX/RX pairs 3. Listen for reflection. 3a. No reflection- provide power 3b. Reflection- no power Devices that comply with 802.3af have filters designed

pickup problem on Asterisk 1.2.4
Hi everybody, I'm facing a strange problem after upgrading Asterisk from 1.0.9 to 1.2.4. Sometimes, when receiving an incoming call from pstn, although my sip phones ring correctly (I've got both softphones and hardware phones), noone can pick up the call. Asterisk CLI shows me that the phones are ringing, then nothing happens, so there's no problem _after_ someone picked up, simply

merge with rownames?
Can merge be tricked into merging via rownames as opposed to via contents of a particular column? I have two data.frames with overlapping, but out of order, rownames, but no column contents in common and would like to merge without cbinding the rownames to the data.frames. Mark -- Mark W.
