Sequence from 2 Vectors
I would like to create a vector that is a sequence from 2 vectors. Could anyone provide suggestion on this? For example > a<-c(1,2,3) > b<-a+2 > b [1] 3 4 5 I would like to have a vector that is a sequence which starting from a and ending at b c = c(1:3,2:4,3:5) c = c(1,2,3,2,3,4,3,4,5) Thank you Best Regards, Suphajak Ngamlak Equity and Derivatives Trading Phatra Securities

Calculate Mean from List
Dear all, I have a list of correlation coefficient matrixes. Each matrix represents one date. For example A[[1]] A B C A 1 0.2 0.3 B 0.2 1 0.4 C 0.3 0.4 1 A[[2]] A B C A 1 0.5 0.6 B

SQLDF from Variable Matrix
Dear all, I would like to do sample statistics, e.g. mean, median from very large dataset. This is part of commands I use routinely with several dataset so I would like to make it into function. The simplified examples are Test<-data.frame(A=c('a','b','c','a','b','c'),B=c(1,2,3,4,5,6)) #Create function (This one work)

Execute SQL Stored Procedure in R
Dear all, I would like R to retrieve a table resulting from execute sql stored procedures. What function can I use? Can RODBC do it. I tried channel1 <- odbcConnect("ptsecmstqa01-alpha") query <- paste("execute DB.dbo.usp_test") Data<- sqlQuery(channel1, query) However, it returned blank. Use of the index of a for loop to assign values to the ro ws of a series of variables
1. The matrices are only 3x2. In your loop you'd be assigning rows 4 and 5 in the last two iterations. Are you sure that's what you want? 2. The reason it ``didn't work'' is because assign() takes the first argument as the name of the object to create, literally, instead of evaluating it. 3. You probably ought to be working with a list. E.g.: m <- replicate(5,

need help to find type I error rate for modified F statistic
Hello everyone, I want to calculate type I error rate for modified F statistic for one way robust anova. I need to find the j group trimmed mean and winsorized sum of squared deviations. Here I attached my code for j=2 to make it simple. Originally I have j=4. Hope you can help. I need to run it for 1000 times My problem is: i) the value of F-test obtain from my simulation below is in negative

Optimization Problem in R
Dear List, I'm new in R. I'm trying to solve a simple constrained optimization problem. Essentially, let's say I have a matrix as in the object 'mm' inside the function below. My objective function should have a matrix of parameters, one parameter for each element 'mm' (4 in this case). The problem is to select the value of the parameters to maximize the function

Constrained Optimization in R (alabama)
Dear List, I'm trying to solve this simple optimization problem in R. The parameters are the exponents to the matrix mm. The constraints specify that each row of the parameter matrix should sum to 1 and their product to 0. I don't understand why the constraints are not satisfied at the solution. I must be misinterpreting how to specify the constrains somehow. library(alabama) ff <-

QUESTION ON ROUNDING
Dear All,   wonder if you have a thought on the following: I am using the round(x,digits=3) command, but some of my values come out as: 0.07099999999999999 AND 0.06900000000000001. Any thoughts on why this maty be happening or how to eliminate the problem?   apreciate the help,   Andras [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Asterisk Compatible Server Architecture
Hi, I'm planning on moving my Asterisk server to a rackmount. I've read that Asterisk has run into some problems with certain hardware configurations so I thought I'd vet my proposed architecture with the board. Note that I'll be running Asterisk 1.2 on Re Hat 9.0 and I need to support a TDM400 card. Many thanks for your comments. Hugh Motherboard Asus P5GD1-VM - MATX Intel

x86_64 and memory reservation
Hi, I have an Athlon 64 2800+ with an ASUS K8V-MX mATX motherboard. 2x512 MB DDR400 Ram. Now the problem: 8MB of RAM is used by the shared memory of the video card, so I would expect 1016MB RAM to be available for Linux (that's how much the BIOS shows). Indeed if I go into memtest86+ v1.50 then I see: in e820-Std mode: 1015MB ram, with 432K reserved in e820-All mode: 1016MB ram, with 0K

a question about using function ssanova of package gss in R version 2.14.1 (2011-12-22)
Dear all, I am trying to use ssanova of the gss package but met some error that I cannot figure out the answer for. Here is the code I am using to explain the problem. library(gss) set.seed(5732) x=(1:100)/100 y=1+3*sin(2*pi*x)+2*(x>0.7)+rnorm(x) x1=rnorm(100) x2=rnorm(100) part.fit=ssanova(y~x, partial=~cbind(x1,x2)) summary(part.fit) part.fit=ssanova(y~x, partial=~cbind(as.numeric(x1),x2))

mixed ordinal logistic regression
Dear Colleagues, I hope to know how ordinal logistic regression with a mixed model is made in R. We (My colleague and I) are studying the behavior of a beetle. The attraction of beetles to a stimulus are recorded: the response is Slow, Mid, or Fast. They are based on the time after the presentation of the stimulus to the beetles. Because we do not observe the behavior continuously but do

Linear Regression with Linear Equality Constraint
Please advice on the package I should use to run a linear regression model (weighted least squared) with linear equality constraint. I initially tried "constrOptim" but it turned out that it only supported inequality linear constraint. Thank you very much in advance. Cheers, Jon -- View this message in context:

Varin In the teaching you to fish department, you can find those dependencies Duncan appeared to pull out of thin air by looking at the CRAN contributed packages web pages, which can easily be found with Google. Start at the matie page and follow the dependency links and look at dependencies. In particular the error message mentioning the proxy package is a clue that dependencies might be a

It runs on a cheapy mATX motherboard(ECS 741GX-M) with socket A 2800+ CPU and 2Gbyte DDR. The OS and data are on a 300Gbyte PATA maxtor drive and data backups are run weekly to another PATA drive. aligning image with bar plot in the same plot
