Gettext and rails
Hi
Im using the newest GetText gem, and Im having problems with classes
outside rails, they don''t get translated. For example: I have a class
representing access in my app, and it is not a ActiveRecord, just a
normal class. When require ''gettext'' and include it in the class, I can
use the _('''') methods fine. They get picked upp by rake updatepo.

gettext weirdness
Hi,
I am trying to use the gettext() function to translate some text. I have
never used this function before, so, it's entirely possible that I am
doing something wrong. The issue that I am encountering is that
gettext() properly translates some text, but not some other.
Natural language was compiled in my R (installed from the Debian
repositories):

Using Gettext To Translate Your Rails Application
Hi,
Has anyone has any success using the gettext translation methods mentioned in
this wiki page?
http://manuals.rubyonrails.com/read/chapter/105
I got up to running the localize script at which point it protests about not
being able to find ''gettext/rgettext'' from the require line at the top of the
script:

mle() and with()
I'm trying to figure out the best way of fitting the same negative
log-likelihood function to more than one set of data, using mle() from the
stats4 package.
Here's what I would have thought would work:
--------------
library(stats4)
## simulate values
r = rnorm(1000,mean=2)
## very basic neg. log likelihood function
mll <- function(mu,logsigma) {

Est. Component Size with AIC/BIC under Gamma Distribution
Dear all,
I am trying to model number of samples from
a given series. The series are modelled according
Gamma function.
In order to estimate the # samples, I use BIC/AIC
with MLE (computed from dgamma function).
Here is the code I have.
__BEGIN__
mlogl <- function( x_func, theta_func, samp) {
# computing log_likelihood
return( - sum(dgamma(samp, shape = x_func, scale=theta_func, log

[PATCH] hivexsh: Conditionally build for Mac OS X
OS X lacks open_memstream, causing hivexsh to fail to build. This patch
defines HAVE_HIVEXSH, setting the only condition to open_memstream
existence.

Agile Legacy Interop
I just wanted to announce my latest plugin: LegacyInterop
The 5 second video, minus the video, looks like this:
$ ./script/plugin install
svn://lirp.rubyforge.org/var/svn/lirp/trunk/legacy_interop
$ echo LegacyInterop.act_as_dotnet >> config/environment.rb
Done! Agile! Pragmatic!
The plugin includes support for a large number of legacy systems, all
using the "act_as" pattern.

Strings, Variables and GetText

successfully created.",

[PATCH 0/3] hivex: Improve OS X support
This patch series improves, but does not complete, OS X support for
hivex. There are several outstanding issues before hivexml and hivexsh
can run:
* hivexsh uses open_memstream, which doesn't exist in OS X as near as I
can see. Unfortunately, I'm inexperienced with autoconf, so I'm not
sure how to employ AC_CHECK_FUNCS([open_memstream]) to conditionally add
'sh' to the

[Hivex] [PATCH] lib: Promote byte_conversions.h #include to hivex-internal.h
This patch addresses a build failure in OS X. Running git-bisect on a
straightforward build (bootstrap, autogen.sh, configure, make, make
install) showed this as the "Bad commit:"
3e7c039799cddc45517350cc917eb10715f33fec
The issue is that hivex-internal.h uses le32toh in a static inline
function. In case `configure` doesn't find le32toh, byte_conversions.h
defines it. But

IMHO it should be called -i, like in the other tools, as what
--autosysroot does is basically the same.
