Help with modFit of FME package
Dear R users,
I'm trying to fit a set an ODE to an experimental time series. In the attachment you find the R code I wrote using modFit and modCost of FME package and the file of the time series.
When I run summary(Fit) I obtain this error message, and the values of the parameters are equal to the initial guesses I gave to them.
The problem is not due to the fact that I have only one

3D plot
Dearl list,
can anyone point me to a function or library that can create a graph similar to the one in the following powerpoint presentation?
http://bmi.osu.edu/~khuang/IBGP705/BMI705-Lecture7.ppt
(pages 36-37)
In order to try to explain the graph, the way I see it in R terms is something like this:
the "p-q" axis is a vector of positions (for example, seq(0,5000000,1))

Weird extension behavior
Hi, I'm using Asterisk with two Cisco 7960 phones using SIP.
I'm seeing the following weird behavior:
SIP Phome 1 is extension 4002
SIP Phone 2 is extension 4003
I call 4002 from 4003 and that works fine.
I call 4003 from 4002, and it rings locally to 4002, never gets to 4003.
I'm able to send a config query packet to 4003 from the asterisk
console and get a response, when I send

snmp ups Status: Not supported
Hi
I set up my ups with driver snmp-ups, and it get recognized as a AEC T2003.
In the nut-cgi upstats page input/output/load are displayed corectly, but the
Status field is marked as "Not supported".
Is "Status" important to initiate shutdown in case of low battery ? Will my
server shut down correctly ?
thanks
Massimo

domain user map
I have searched the samba archive site and found a reference to the
parameter "domain user map".
It is also documented in the on-line documentation.
Since I only had samba version 2.0.0 I decided to download the latest, which
turns out to
be 2.0.3. However, this version does not appear to have the parameter
"domain user map"
either!!
I did see in an article from the

2B Channel Transfer on XO-based T1
I'm trying to get "blind transfer" from an incoming DAHDI line to an
external number to work on an * 1.6 install using a T1 from XO. The
documentation is very "distributed" and incomplete, so while it's not
working, it's definitely more likely my error somehow. Couple questions if
anybody is out there who even knows what TBCT is.

Samba with NIS Authentication
I have a huge UNIX network. I want to deploy a Samba server using NIS
Authentication mechanism for the growing number of windows machines.
What are the pros and cons of using NIS authentication with Samba?
Also any pointer/docs in setting up Samba with NIS Authentication. I
am pretty much familiar in setting up Samba using the default
smbpasswd authentication.
Thanks in advance

[Weft QDA users] Using WeftQDA for Mailing-List Analysis
Hi Alex, Hi Weft-Users!
I am looking for a tool for doing a qualitative analysis of mailing-list
data. This means I have a *lot* of individual documents (the typical case:
around 500-5000 emails), belonging to the same "super-document" (a mailing
list).
I have looked at several tools and I like that Weft is public domain and
written in Ruby, so I want to figure out whether it

NTLM, NTLMv2, lmcompatibilitylevel >=2 doesnt work
Hi,
I'm wondering if samba supports NTLMv2, particullary NTLMv2 session security.
But I can't even get NTLM-only to work :(.
I'm trying to increase lmcompatibilitylevel, but I can't connect to the samba server
anymore when I set it to 2 or higher ("Send NTLM authenication only").
I'm using HEAD CVS of today, and my smb.conf looks like this:

Problem in long timeouts file access
I have a very strange problem accessing some files on a samba share that
are in use from many windows7 client machines. I'm experiencing long
timeouts: 5-30 seconds per file on very small xml files.
The share is accessed by contemporary Windows7 machines at the time they
are shut down.
It seems to me that some of the files remain opened and locked to all
other clients at server side while the

Slow read performance
Help please-
I am running 3.3.1 on Centos using a 10GB network. I get reasonable write speeds, although I think they could be faster. But my read speeds are REALLY slow.
Executive summary:
On gluster client-
Writes average about 700-800MB/s
Reads average about 70-80MB/s
On server-
Writes average about 1-1.5GB/s
Reads average about 2-3GB/s
Any thoughts?

Dear Ubunutu R users,
Vincent Goulet and myself would like to announce the availability of R
2.11.0 for Ubuntu's latest release, Lucid Lynx. The packages should be

exist on CRAN for all Ubuntu releases going back to hardy.
As Johannes Ranke pointed out for the Debian release, R packages
installed under R < 2.10.0
