Although pie charts are obviously not considered optimal even in the pie() doc ;-) , pie chart trellis objects would be easy positioned e.g. over a map drawn with the grids package. Can

I am having trouble finding out how to adjust the position of labels on pie charts. For the small wedges, many of the labels overlap making it impossible to read.
