Memory leaks in .C-interface
Hi, I wrote a C-function which I call with the .C-interface ( something like .C("foo", x, y) ). The function does a lot of things. Among<http://dict.leo.org/ende?lp=ende&p=_xpAA&search=things&trestr=0x8004>st other things it allocates much memory (stack and heap). Every heap allocation (with malloc) has a corresponding free call. My problem is, that if I call this

binning a vector
Hello, I was wondering wether there's a function in R that takes two vectors (of same length) as input and computes mean values for bins (intervals) or even a sliding window over these vectros. I've several x/y data set (input/response) that I'd like plot together. Say the x-data for one data set goes from -5 to 14 with 12,000 values, then I'd like to bin the x-vector in steps of

Seed in 'parallel' vignette
Hi, This is most likely only a minor technicality, but I saw the following: On page 6 of the 'parallel' vignette (http://stat.ethz.ch/R-manual/R-devel/library/parallel/doc/parallel.pdf), the random-number generator "L'Ecuyer-CMRG" is said to have seed "(x_n, x_{n-1}, x_{n-2}, y_n, y_{n-1}, y_{n-2})". However, in L'Ecuyer et al. (2002), the seed is given with

3D Graphics
Dear All, I have made a scatter plot and placed a plane within it using scatterplot3d. However, I have been asked for the data points to be a surface plot or have the plane more closely resemble the data rather than show trends. I have since tried to use the rgl package. Why doesn't this package use the window which already contains graphics? I have one axis with decreasing values and two

Empty Network Neighborhood"
Hello. My problem is not samba realted, but I might hope that it can help me to solve it. Our network is about 200 users. Some of them are using windows. But today Network Neighborhood on all computers became empty. I've tried smbtree and its listing is empty too. If I enable -d10 I can see in the last string: "Unable to find master browser by broadcast" The only idea I have,

ip-cref and route nat.
Hello. The problem I have is route nat. Short question: Must "route nat", mentioned in ip-cref documentation comming with iproute2 package, work with 2.6.9 kernel? Long question and description of the problem: There is an appendix C in ip-cref by Alexey Kuznetsov called "Route NAT Status". I''ve followed this configuration with 2.4.2x kernel and everything works.

MultiISP: failover and dynamic IP
Dear list, Shorewall is running here with 2 ISP''s: ISP1: corporate ADSL-line with fixed set of IP''s ISP2: fast consumer-grade cable-connection with higher bandwidth All our main traffic (web, e-mail) is routed trough ISP1. Only for special purposes (frequent large ftp-transfers) ISP2 is used, configured trough tcrules. ISP2 is not so reliable as ISP1 (duh) and they sometimes

persp3d and rgl.viewpoint for rotating 3D plots
Dear R-users, within the rgl-package, I would have a question about the usage of persp3d in combination of rgl.viewpoint. I am not able to figure out how to let a 3D plot rotating around likewise the example in ?rgl.viewpoint. It seems that when I use persp3d(...) I see something on my screen, which is different from what I get when it's rotating. Is there any different behavior between

two plots side-by-side with persp3d(rgl)
Dear R-users, I would like to place two 3D plots side-by-side in a rgl-setting. It would nice to have something like "par(mfrow=c(1,2))" for basic plots, or an array framework for wireframe(lattice) (see example below). I only managed to overlap two persp3d plots. My final idea would be to animate both surfaces using play3d(rgl). Thanks in advance for any help. Best, Carlo Giovanni

The network has the following configuration: There are two local networks, 172.16.57.0/24 and 172.16.59.0/24. The networks are connected over the internet by Cisco routers providing an IPSEC VPN. The VPNs are configured to route all traffic (all IP types, all ports, except broadcast and ICMP

Correct scaling of axis in persp3d plot
Hi, I want to format my axis in my persp3d plot. With my data, which I attached I created a persp3d plot with the following code, which I summarized from different code snippets I found: library(rugarch)library(rgl)library(fGarch)fd <-as.data.frame(modelfit,which ='density')color <-rgb(85,141,85,maxColorValue=255)x <-seq(-0.2,0.2,length=100)y <-c(1:2318)f
