command line boa problems...
Greetings - For a number of reasons, I'm moving from CODA to BOA - and I have one or two really basic, boa-newbie questions. While I have the 'menu-driven' version of boa working fine (most recent version, running under R 2.3.1 on a Windows machine), for the life of me I can't seem to get some basic boa.xxxx command-line functions to work at all. Even things like

CODA vs. BOA discrepancy
Dear List: the CODA and BOA packages for the analysis of MCMC output yield different results on two dignostic test of convergence: 1) Geweke's convergence diagnostic; 2) Heidelberger and Welch's convergence diagnostic. Does that imply that the CODA and BOA packages implement different ``flavors'' of the same test? I paste below an example. Geweke's test

Patch to make sshd work on multihomed systems
As far as I know this patch has no security implications -- I don't believe that allowing sshd to use get_local_name() (in canohost.c) on a connected socket to determine it's own fqdn will allow a malicious client (or router or dns server) to make it come to the wrong conclusion. But please let me know if you think I'm wrong. Please also let me know if you're just not interested

Please Help me!
Hi, R-users, I have a problem: Because there are few files which can't be readed into R completely, so on the following subsequence programme, I use write.table, which creates the "NA" files for those incomplete files autimatically. I don't want those NA files. My programes formats looks like: name_c<-Sys.glob("C:/Documents and Settings/lma/My

[nbdkit PATCH] python: Let zero's may_trim parameter be optional
In preparation for adding other optional flag arguments to the python bindings, start by making the existing 'may_trim' flag to 'zero' be optional. That is, the plugin need not define the parameter if it does not make any semantic difference (ie. if the plugin ignores the hint and never trims); while if the parameter exists, we now pass it as a keyword argument rather than as a

More on bug 7924
Hi, Again, sorry for the length of this post. Once I get my new office I will get a website set up on my work machine and will simply post a link to the log since I doubt many people are truly interested in these logs. To further analyze what is happening, I added my own routine in main.c called DEBUG_SET_NAMED and then redefined the SET_NAMED macro to use it and then rebuilt R. I

replication stuck?
Until yesterday replication between my two DCs (boa and cobra) was running fine. Now I am observing one direction boa->cobra being stuck. I noticed this with a missing update of a DNS entry, but samba-tool drs showrepl confirms? Output of cobra shows plenty entries like the following (including just he first of each type): ==== INBOUND NEIGHBORS ====

Changing a logical matrix into a numeric matrix
Hi, I would like to turn my TRUE/FALSE matrix into a 1/0 matrix (i.e. True=1 and False=0) [,1] [,2] [,3] [1,] TRUE FALSE FALSE [2,] TRUE TRUE FALSE [3,] TRUE TRUE TRUE [,1] [,2] [,3] [1,] 1 0 0 [2,] 1 1 0 [3,] 1 1 1 Is there a quick way of doing this without a loop? replication stuck?
I figured it out myself. The kerberos configuration on the old dc cobra was bad ? no clue why it worked at all until yesterday. After fixing it, testing with kinit, and restarting the dc processes it resumed replication. I installed a third DC today. Replication works find, but as systemctl status samba-ad-dc showed an error w.r.t. dnsupdate I was running samba_dnsupdate ?verbose. Below is the output. It looks like there are some missing DNS records, but what are potential causes of this error: dns_tkey_gssnegotiate: TKEY is unacceptable I already checked what?s listed @

character variables in substitute()
In trying to create a plotmath expression for plot labeling, such as R = 6, beta = 15 where I want beta to be the Greek beta and, possibly, R in italics (like one would get in an explicit expression. The reason for this is that I want to write a string builder function that takes vectors of variable names and their values and return a plotmath expression for labeling a plot. One approach I

HeapAlloc vs. malloc. How does HeapAlloc work?
Hi, I am little bit interested in Wine source code. There is one thing I don't understand. How does HeapAlloc() work? Is it the same behavior as Winapi HeapAlloc()? If so then I have to check NULL value after each calling of this function, don't I? I have found this code in Wine 0.9.57: In dlls/dbghelp/stabs.c function 'static int stabs_new_include(const char* file, unsigned long

Problems in rgl on MacOS X
I have recently been trying to build rgl on MacOS X 10.4 using R-2.1.1 with gcc-4.0 5026 and gfortran. The R binary I built without problems and it includes libpng and Tcl/ Tk on X11. Rcmdr works correctly. The rgl build produces a large number of warnings like: g++ -no-cpp-precomp -I/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Resources/ include -I/System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework/Headers

[PATCH] Basic SCTP support for OpenSSH client and server
This patch allows the OpenSSH client to make connections over SCTP, and allows the OpenSSH server to listen for connections over SCTP. SCTP is a robust transport-layer protocol which supports, amongst other things, the changing of endpoint IPs without breaking the connection. To connect via SCTP, pass -H or set "ConnectViaSCTP yes". To listen via SCTP as well as TCP, set
