Combine subsets by factor level
I'm attempting to change a data set by compressing rows into columns.
Currently there are several rows that all have information about one
"patient," but at different cycles. I'm trying to make each patient only
have one row in the data set.
Does anyone know a good way to combine data sets by factor level? I've
separated the groups into different subsets by cycle, but not

quantile regression: out of memory error
Hello, I?m wondering if anyone can offer advice on the out-of-memory error I?m getting. I?m using R2.12.2 on Windows XP, Platform: i386-pc-mingw32/i386 (32-bit).
I am using the quantreg package, trying to perform a quantile regression on a dataframe that has 11,254 rows and 5 columns.

InstrItin and SchedWriteRes
Hello Andy,
I want to use the existing scheduling models to estimate performance on a
subtarget. For that, I am looking at the new llvm-mca tool where they only
use SchedReadWrite and state that not supporting Instruction Itineraries is
a limitation.
I have also read that the Instruction Itineraries allow to model certain
things which cannot be represented in the SchedReadWrite however, I am

Passing an R matrix to a C program
Hello,
I'm starting to write a C function that gets
a list and a matrix from R. I'm using .Call
because I've undertood that this is recommended
to handle lists (am I wrong?). My problem is that I
can pass the matrix as a vector, but not as a 2D array.
For example, in the following simple C program:
#include <R.h>
#include <Rdefines.h>
SEXP printListElement(SEXP list,

[LLVMdev] Spills and values present in both registers & stack
One piece of code I'm writing has a lot of intermediates, and I'm
trying to optimize down the number of memory accesses. Here's a
snippet from the start of the function, where I think there is some
low-hanging fruit:
# BB#0:
pushq %rbp
pushq %r15
pushq %r14
pushq %r13
pushq %r12
pushq %rbx
movq %rdx, %rcx
movq %rdi, -16(%rsp) # 8-byte Spill
movq (%rsi), %rdi

extract variance components
HI,
I would like to extract the variance components estimation in lme function
like
a.fit<-lme(distance~age, data=aaa, random=~day/subject)
There should be three variances \sigma_day, \sigma_{day %in% subject } and
\sigma_e.
I can extract the \sigma_e using something like a.fit$var. However, I cannot
manage to extract the first two variance components. I can only see the

passing username and password to source()
Please, is it possible to pass an username and a password to source() to
access code stored in restricted access web server?
I know I can use commands like...
> source("http://mire.environmentalchange.net/~webmaster/R/3Dsurface.r")
but I am not able to find if it is possible to pass authorization
parameters together with the link.
Thanks you for your help,
Ricardo

Yes, that's what I finally remembered. I think I've fixed all
occurrences (by adding EXTEND32)

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:

[PATCH] filearch: Add s390 and s390x detection and tests.
Unfortunately I was unable to build s390 binaries since multilib was
dropped in Fedora 24 on s390x. Going from the source of the 'file'
command it seems as if it prints "32-bit" (the architecture is really
31 bit).

A few months back, a very alpha version of bliss got posted. That shouldn''t
have happened, but, it was pretty much ignored so I didn''t worry about it.
But now it seems there''s a bit of a fuss about this. I''ll post the

pdc+ldap newly created users can't log in
I am facing a very strange problem with samba running as PDC and using
LDAP. The new users that I create using smbldap-tools aren't able to log
in, but they can browse shares on the server.
I had the problem with samba 2.2 and hoped it would be solved with 3.0.
I spent two days testing without success even with samba 3.0.2pre1.
In the log I can't see anything wrong : it says "sam

inkscape -z -o logo/fish-10yrs.{png,svg}
cp {logo,website}/fish-10yrs.svg
and then updated the rest of the files.
