Interpreting GLM coefficients
Hi all,
I?m fitting GLM?s and I can?t interprete the coefficients when I run a
model with interaction terms.
When I run the simpliest model there is no problem:
Model1<-glm (Fishes ~ Year + I(Year^2) + Kind.Geographic +
Kind.Fishers + Zone.2 + Hours + Fishers + Month, family =
poisson(log)) # Fishes, Year, Hours, and Fishers are numeric,
Kind.Geographic, Kind.Fishers, Zone.2 and

change location of temporary files
I would like to change where R stores the temporary files to my external
hard drive in my iMac. This is important because the temporary files R
creates are huge and I do not have enough available space in my internal
HD. Again, this is for macOS.
This change has to be temporary. Later I need to use the usual location for
temp files in the internal HD.
Thanks in advance,

Data decomposition
Hi R users,
I have a time series variable that is only available at a monthly level for
1 years that I need to decompose to a weekly time series level - can
anyone recommend a R function that I can use to decompose this series?
eg. if month1 = 1200 I would to decompose so that the sum of the weeks for
month1 equals 1200, etc..
Many thanks in advance for any help.

change location of temporary files
Does setting the environment variable TMPDIR, before starting R,
to a directory on a bigger file system help? On Linux I get
% mkdir /tmp/RTMP-BILL
% env TMPDIR=/tmp/RTMP-BILL R --quiet --vanilla
> tempdir()

> tempfile()
[1] "/tmp/RTMP-BILL/Rtmppgowz4/file7ce36ec5cb1e"
I don't know if there is an R-specific environment

Group several variables and apply a function to the group
Dear R-experts,
I am struggling with the following problem, and I am looking for advice
from more experienced R-users: I have a data frame with 2 identifying
variables (comn and mi), and an output variable (x). comn is a variable for
a company and mi is a variable for a month.
comn<-c("abc", "abc", "abc", "abc", "abc", "abc",

parallel computing with foreach()
I have used foreach() for parallel computing but in the current problem, it
is not working. Given the volume and type of the data involved in the
analysis, I will try to give below the complete code without reproducible
example.
In short, each R environment will draw a set of separate files, perform the
analysis and dump in separate folders.

Selecting unique values
Greetings
I have a dataset with occurrence records of multiple species. I need to get
rid of multiple listings of the same occurrence point for a species (as you
see below in red and blue typeface). How do I create a dataset only with
unique set of longitude and latitude for each species? Thanks in advance.

parallel computing with foreach()
Your code generates an error that has nothing to do with dopar. I have
no idea what your function stack is supposed to do; you may be
inadvertently calling utils::stack which would produce this kind of
error:
> stack(1:25, RAT = FALSE)
Error in data.frame(values = unlist(unname(x)), ind, stringsAsFactors = FALSE) :
arguments imply differing number of rows: 25, 0

Designating a new year (Sept-Aug) in R
If I have data (below) and need some help in figuring out how I can change the values of my date column, so that a year will be from September-August? So the year
1990 = September 89-August 90; 1991
= September 90-August 91, etc...
I was trying to use the if() function, but am unable to figure it out. I basically need to change the years associated with September-December to the following

How to still processing despite bug errors?
Hi, everybody.
I am working processing EEG data from 1000 pacients. I have a specific
syntax to perform the Spectral Analysis and a loop to analyse all subjects.
each subject data are in separate folders (P1, P2 P3...)
My question is: in some cases, some errors can appear in one subject. I want
to know if is possible to jump to the next subject and perform the same
syntax , exibiting an error

fill the space between to lines
hi,
the code below produces me two curved lines.
Now I want to fill the space between these curves with a color and I
don't have any idea how to do that with R.
I tried it with the polygon() function but it didn't worked out.
Can someone her give me a hint on that?
thanks!

Adding a polygon to a time series plot
Preamble: Sorry for being dense.
Now that that's done, here are my questions.
I want to put a polygon on a plot of a time series. I'm going to add lines
from a smooth.spline interpolation and other annotation to it. But here's
the general idea:
# Start code
n <- 121
dat <- rnorm(n)
plot(dat, type="n")
polygon(c(1:n,n:1), c(dat,c(rep(0,n))), col =

Convert list of lists <--> data frame

Lattice to ggplot2: Reference graphics across facets
Hi,
I'm playing with moving some of my lattice graphics into ggplot2, and I'd
like to ask how to achieve a couple of things, both of which are fully
illustrated in self-contained code (and mostly minimal, although that left
quite a bit) following this written description.
1. I quite often like to use a 'ghosted' reference across facets - for
example, in my example program below,

Survplot, Y-axis in percent
Hi
I am a new fan of R after getting mad with the graphical functional in SPSS.
I have been able to create a nice looking Kaplan Meyer graph using Survplot
function.
However I have difficulties in turning the y axis to percent instead of the
default 0-1 scale.
Further I have tried the function yaxt="n" without any results. Any help in
this matter will be appreciated.

containing some points. However, I would like to center the pie
diagram on the xy location on the plot, but not on the center. is
there any way to re-center pic diagram.
Any suggestion or better alternative are highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help.
