Hmisc: can not reproduce figure 4 of Statistical Tables and Plots using S and LATEX
Dear R-users: I can not reproduce figure 4 of *Statistical Tables and Plots using S and LATEX* by Prof. Frank Harrell with the following code: rm(list=ls()) library(Hmisc) getHdata(pbc) attach(pbc) age.groups <- cut2(age, c(45,60)) g <- function(y) apply(y, 2, quantile, c(.25,.5,.75)) y <- with(pbc, cbind(Chol=chol,Bili=bili)) # You can give new column names that are not legal S names

swapping with data.frame
Hi there, I have some data which are convenient to enter as lists. For example: t1<-list(fname="animal1",testname="hyla",dspkr="left",res1=39.7,res2=15.0) t2<-list(fname="animal1",testname="bufo",dspkr="left",res1=14.4,res2=56.1)

Discrepancy in the PBC data set
The data set in R is wrong. I've found mistakes on 2 lines in a quick look. I don't know if the data is incorrect in the Appendix of Fleming and Harrington as well (someone seems to have borrowed my copy), which is where the data set appears to have been taken from, given all the "-9" codes in it. (Note, Tom Fleming originally got the data from me, so I'm fairly

new to latex to pdf
Dear All, I'm trying to teach myself latex along with the latex function in Hmisc and have hit a roadblock that I can't seem to get around. I'd greatly appreciate any pointers. I'm running R 2.6.0 on Windows XP and have Miktex 2.7 installed. I've reproduced the code below, taken from Frank Harrell's latexsummary introduction. My question relates to getting a pdf

Problem using callNextMethod() in S4
Dear all, Maybe, I am doing something wrong, but using R-2.5.0 on my Intel-Mac, I have problems using function callNextMethod() in method initialize. I am loading the following code as file "testS4.R": setClass("baseClass", representation(myname = "character", mydir = "character", "VIRTUAL"),

Hmisc summary.formula formats for binary and continuous variables
Hello, I am using Hmisc summary.formula, latex and Sweave to produce tables for publication. Is it possible to change the formats for binary and continuous variables? I would prefer to show 35 (10%) and 1.5 (1.2-1.8) rather than 10% (35) and 1.2 / 1.5 / 1.8. Here is a simple example: sex <- factor(sample(c("m","f"), 500, rep=TRUE)) age <- rnorm(500, 50, 5) treatment

[compiler-rt] r329776 - [XRay][compiler-rt] Fix osx-based builds
Hi Dean, For me the build is still broken: -- Builtin supported architectures: i386;x86_64;x86_64h CMake Error at projects/compiler-rt/lib/xray/tests/CMakeLists.txt:21 (add_library): add_library cannot create target "RTXRay.test.osx" because another target with the same name already exists. [compiler-rt] r329776 - [XRay][compiler-rt] Fix osx-based builds
Hi Dean, I have fixed the build failure in r329832. In general, do you think it would be possible to perform the task using higher-level functions available from AddCompilerRT.cmake? They were written exactly to avoid such errors. Regards, George > On Apr 11, 2018, at 10:50 AM, George Karpenkov <ekarpenkov at apple.com> wrote: > > Hi Dean, > > For me the build is still

moving netbios alias between machines
I would like to move a netbios alias (e.g. 'testname') from one machine to another. Seems like an easy enough thing to do: remove it from machine 'a', and add it to machine 'b'. I've done this, but all's not well in netbios land. My clients still want to talk to the old machine, and do. Do I simply have to be more patient? How patient? Is there anything that

ctree and survival problem
Dear all, I was intrigued by the ctree command and wanted to check it out. I first ran the demo with example(ctree) and did get the survival graphs in the end. Upon doing this with my own data and yielding a "Invalid operation on a survival time" I tried to rerun example(ctree) and now I also get "Invalid operation on a survival time" after the example runs plot(GBSG2ct)...

[LLVMdev] RFC: How can AddressSanitizer, ThreadSanitizer, and similar runtime libraries leverage shared library code?
Reviving the discussion. The cool cmake-build of compiler-rt is not completely functional, but allows sanitizer runtimes to reuse LLVM code with almost no dirty hacks. Suppose I want to run call functions from LLVM libs (currently: LLVMDebugInfo, LLVMSupport) from sanitizer runtime. 1) I can simply include LLVM headers in sanitizer runtime, and it compiles and builds static asan runtime

[LLVMdev] Unit test patch, updated
Here's the version of the unit test patch, incorporating the feedback I have received so far. Some notes on the patch: - This patch doesn't include googletest itself, that will need to be checked in separately. The source distribution will live in llvm/utils/unittest/googletest. (The reason for the extra directory level is so that the LLVM-specific makefiles can live in

Why S4 method is not visible from another package?
Dear All, maybe this is something obvious, I seem to be incapable of understanding how S4 works. So, in package 'A' I defined a "summary" method for my class: setMethod("summary", signature(object="ListHyperGResult"), function(object, pvalue=pvalueCutoff(object), categorySize=NULL) { "whatever" })
